12.17.15 Update: GLUTEN CONTAMINATION ISSUES. We stopped at this restaurant for grilled shrimp and French fries (supposedly gluten free). The service was slow, but the fries were kinda hot and the shrimp was good. However, at the bottom of the fry pile were pieces of breaded chicken. This was SO disappointing, as wheat gives my daughter and me unpleasant digestive issues. I asked the wait person about it, and his first response was «someone probably wasn’t paying attention and put chicken in the fry fryer.» After I explained the problem this would cause, he went off to inquire, then told me that indeed the fryer had not had chicken in it, the bits came from «where it’s scooped up.»
Nooooo! This is still gluten contamination! Don’t trust them if you have gluten sensitivity issues!
Original post: Service is terrible. Awful. Horrible. Pitiful. We’ve visited this particular restaurant and then left because no one could be bothered to seat us. No, they weren’t busy — just hangin’ at the bar, texting, and partying in the back.
The only reason we keep coming back is because they have awesome gluten-​free fries and a dedicated fryer (supposedly) so we don’t have cross-​contamination issues. The shredded beef nachos are good, if you can catch them on a good day.
Their GF menu is shrinking, and they’ve discontinued some of my favorite items. For now, it’s a fall-​back restaurant when we can’t find anything better.

Should Have Read Reviews Before We Came W Hubby For Our Anniversary Dinner. It sucked. We ordered sirloin w shrimp dinner we ordered med well it cane out rare the salmon was disqusting. We were so disappointed should have done thai like we planed

Really disappointed ordered a bowl of Totilla soup, got a little monkey dish of semi-​warm soup. No refills not very pleased. Good luck.

Our experience at this Applebee’s location was horrible. Our waitress could NOT even get our drinks right! It was terrible starting with the wrong drinks, didnt even get crayons for our daughter until the 4^th time we asked, our appetizer didn’t come until AFTER our meal, my husband’s ‘well-​done’ burger was pink, the mushrooms and onions on my steak were burnt, the mashed potatoes tasted like cardboard, and to top it off I drank GLASS. yep. GLASS. The manager covered our meal, but every single table in our area had complaints about either the waitress or the food. Smh. So I know it wasn’t just us. It was awful. We will NEVER eat there again. Deserves 0 stars.

Well if I could give 0 stars I would. Ordered two very basic meals both came out wrong both my steak was well done when ordered medium and my wife asked for no pico in her steak quesadillas and of course it had plenty of pico, possibly extra pico. Then our teas went empty for a half hour oh and I dropped my fork and asked for a new one and never was brought a new one. My wife got up and got one on her own. Needless to say I won’t go back.

Unfortunate is the best way that I can describe our experience. We were seated promptly by a very pleasant hostess. That is where the «good times» ended. Approximately ten minutes, (and two recommendations from my wife that we leave) after being seated, our server approached and took our order (drinks and food). The food took about fifteen more minutes to arrive. Our iced teas ran completely out during our meal, and weren’t refilled until after we had finished our food. Desert was not offered. Never saw a manager. UGH! There were eighteen customers at eleven tables at noon on a Saturday, right next to the busiest Sam’s in town. Now I understand why. Most likely would not return to this restaurant. This is an unfortunate representation of the Applebee’s brand, which is usually quite good.

I placed a car side to go order through the phone. I had to come inside and ask several employees where to find my order. I then had to go to the bar, wait in line, and explain to «Chelsea» that I had ordered on the phone. They told me I never called and I had to show them my phone records to prove that I did actually call this location. Manager looked into it and said they didn’t have the order. I won’t come back.

The web site says appetizers are half price 3 to 6. When we ordered, the waitress said it was only 9 to close, and even though I showed her the local web site, we were still charged full price.

I can’t say this is the best restaurant I ever ate at, but I was thoroughly impressed and must say that our experience here exceeded my expectations (which were not very high). We wanted somewhere we could sit down and eat late at night so we thought we would give it a try. They serve the full menu until 2am which is awesome if you have odd work hours or just don’t want to deal with the 71^st street mayhem that usually exists until dark. Also they have some half price appetizers after 9pm on weeknights and 10pm on the weekend. We tried the queso and it was pretty good. Really good drink specials as well.
My hubby got the quesadilla burger which sounds strange, but it was really tasty and has a special sauce on it that made it fantastic. I got a new menu item called 4-​cheese mac and cheese with honey pepper chicken, and I would go back there just for the honey pepper chicken strips (which I think you can get on the side as their own dish). It was sooo yum!
The grand finale, and my personal favorite part of the meal, was the butter pecan blondie which was served with ice cream and our server drizzled a cream cheese sauce over it at our table that sizzled wildly when it hit the skillet. This may have been the best chain restaurant dessert I have ever had (i can safely say this because there was no crème brûlée on the menu). The dessert was an experience of its own. I have had things served on a «sizzling» skillet before but never got to see it sizzle table-​side and it actually sizzled wildly. As a dessert lover who usually begrudgingly spends $ 5.99 on a dessert I know I could buy 6 – 8 portions worth for the same price at the grocery store, I was so excited to get a fun experience for how much I was paying!
Our server was super friendly and went out of her way to accommodate our needs (we are kind of needy when we go out to eat: example: sometimes my hubby orders 3 different kinds of drinks throughout the meal, I am always needing extra sauce or something). My reasoning for the 3 stars is as follows: the overall cleanliness of the restaurant was lacking, the timeliness of the meal was way off (our server tried very hard, but it wasn’t her fault the restaurant was not properly staffed for being open so late with a full menu), and the décor was very outdated and honestly a little depressing.
Overall, I would recommend this particular Applebee’s, and will definitely be going back for some honey pepper chicken strips!

Service was good but it took 20 minutes to get a sandwich and salad, the sandwich ended up being the wrong one. I ordered a four cheese grill. How hard could it be? Well another 15 minutes, and my sandwich finally came.

Great bartender. Neil I think?
