Before Saturday I enjoyed shopping at the Belks store at Tulsa Hills. Saturday changed all of that. I returned something and the customer service person was not friendly at all. Did not greet me and in fact acted like it was beneath him to have to come over to help me at all. I had my receipt and everything on my end was in perfect order. However everything on his end was simply rude. I don’t know if he was having a bad morning or even perhaps a bad night but don’t take that out on the customer!

I consider myself a semi-frugal person. I love to buy new things and bring them home and I do get that slight high from unwrapping whatever it is and setting it up for use in my house, but from that point on the frugal cuts in. I refuse to pay even the slightest amount above what I personally value something at. If it looks to me as though I can make it or I can get the exact same look from making it myself with cheaper materials, I will quickly talk myself out of purchasing something new. I have been being told for years I should check out Belk and to be honest with you I thought that it was a fabric store like Joann Fabrics and was actually pretty sad when I learned it was just a department store. So once that disappointment was over I walked through the store just to check it out and saw that honestly it was a nice little store. I do feel as though clothing is just clothing and no matter how well it’s put together it is still going to wear out someday and you’re going to have to replace it. My favorite places to buy clothing are at thrift stores and extremely deep discount locations and then if something needs to be changed I can do it myself at home with my sewing machine. I would have given this store five stars but because, in my opinion, their clothing is still expensive even with 60% off stickers above everything. There were some nice deals on housewares products though and several things that I saw that could make great gifts or additions to my house. The store was very clean and it smelled nice. The lighting in the store was properly lit so that you weren’t blinded like you are when you walk into WalMart, and none of the employees said hello to me or acknowledged me at all. Usually that would bother me but in department store settings I don’t like being hounded for a sale. So all in all I would recommend this store over any of the stores in the mall and am fairly impressed with my first visit.

Mrs Eva and I really enjoy shopping for clothing at Belks. They have good quality clothing, similar to Dillards, but more on a JC Penney’s price range. Selection is good, service is good, it never seems to be crowded. Parking is easy. Tulsa Hills Shopping Center is a good place to shop.

I really love this store. Not only does it have great prices and great products. The sales people are just wonderful. They aren’t obnoxious like some department stores all up in your business the entire time, however they did help when needed, were easy to find. The store was so clean and easy to walk around. I really enjoyed my experience.
