This may be my second favorite bbq place in Tulsa. You can’t go wrong with the hot links, brisket, or ribs. I haven’t tried the pulled pork yet. The garlic mashed, brown sugar beans, and bacon and cabbage set Big Anthony’s apart from the pretenders. Server and staff are polite and friendly. Big screen TV and plenty of AC available to chill eating some good food during the hot summer. Location looks kinda of sketchy but don’t be fooled. Big Anthony is no imitator; he is the real deal. Thank you!

Big Anthony’s has great food. The customer service is just as great. Big Anthony came out and smoke to us and greeted all the customers… He’s 6’7″ or more but is humble as Jesus himself. Ok now to the food. Ribs were a slam dunk, so were the links. Sliced beef… Well, I’m from Texas and it’s hard to beat brisket in Texas. The veggies were just as good and went great with the meats. When I am back in Tulsa, I will visit here again.

Excellent barbecue. The tenderest, most flavorful meat I’ve ever had. Only drawback is it was super hot in there when we went.

Found this place on Unilocal and we loved it. Big Anthony had got bbq figured out. Food was great. Service was amazing. The waiters were on top of everything. It’s small so look hard so you won’t miss it. We will be back next time we come to Tulsa. God bless you all and thanks.

I Unilocaled this place in search of BBQ and decided to give it a shot based on the awesome reviews. Those reviews did not disappoint. I walked in and was greeted by Anthony and his lovely assistant. Being greeted by the owner is a big plus for me since this is rarely done in California. I ordered the brisket and chicken as part of my two meat combo. The brisket melted in my mouth and the chicken was well seasoned. When I added some of Anthony’s spicy BBQ sauce I was sold. I will be eating here again tomorrow night. Great food and great service with a small homemade atmosphere make for a big win in my book.

If you’re in the neighborhood, do not miss out on trying this place. Great menu selection, good prices, super friendly work staff and owners. We went in with a group of 8 people, all with different orders. Not a single single person had a bad thing to say. I had the 3 on 3. The ribs were great, the sliced brisket was huge and the 2 links were spicy with a snap. I would recommend this to every person that asked me «where’s a good BBQ spot». Again, don’t miss out!

This place is hiding in a little strip mall on 21st, just east of Memorial. I hate to see them doing slow business during their Sunday lunch buffet. It’s a wonderful little establishment run by a sweet family, with good food to boot. There’s some stiff competition for BBQ joints, I suppose. When you sit down they bring the most amazing corn muffins to your table. Seriously, they’re worth the trip alone. We mostly go for the buffet, which is a great way to try out all of their meats and sides and discover what you prefer. I can’t wax on about smoke rings and such like self-proclaimed BBQ experts; I simply find this place delicious. I especially like their beans and BBQ sauce. For the buffet, they fill your plate as you point out what you want, it’s one trip. As with most buffets, at first it kinda looks like you’re not getting much of each item, but by the time you’re done eating you realize it was a LOT of food. They also have incredible down-home desserts like buttermilk pie and bread pudding. I never leave without a dessert! The service can struggle at times, although it’s NEVER not friendly, warm and welcoming. It’s a little mom-and-pop place, what can you say? We went one Sunday and they had a table of about 8 or 10 that all ordered off the menu instead of the buffet, and you could tell it was throwing them off their game. We’ve noticed now that there’s usually some extra help. So it takes a little while for someone to come take your drink order. When I can see that it’s just 2 or 3 people working, trying to hustle, I’m not bothered by that. It’s worth it for the food, and to support a small-business owner making a go of it. If you haven’t been, go check this place out.

This is a great place to have some good q! I ate here while in Tulsa for work. The owner even checked on me to make sure the staff was doing good and to make sure I was absolutely pleased with my meal. The sausages are excellent as are the ribs. I am kind of a rib snob, but these made me happy. Come give this place a try and I promise you will love the food they are serving.

Now I have had a lot of BBQ over the years, I have even dabbled in my own flays. I’ve lived in KC, Chi, VA/NC and GA. I’ve travelled to every state in the Southeast and Texas/Oklahoma. But let me tell you if you ever get a chance to stop into Big Anthony’s, it is definitely worth the trip to Tulsa. This was the best fried cabbage I have ever tasted, the spice in the Baked Beans was exceptional, The Mac & Cheese was extremely moist and delicious, the Ribs had such exceptional flavor that I almost smacked my boss who was sitting next to me, the brisket was the most tender I have tasted and the hot links tasted exceptionally fresh and hand rolled. All I can say about Big Anthony’s is WOWWWWWWWWW.

Great food… Even better people! The BBQ is perfectly cooked. Not hidden behind a pile of sauce, Big Anthony truly loves what he does and it shows in the product he serves.

My wife and I starving because we were traveling and had to have a late lunch. We Unilocal’ed it and found Big Anthony’s BBQ. This was the best BBQ place I have ever eaten. Like most BBQ places, the ribs fell off the bone, but the flavor was second to none. I also had the sausage and beef brisket; both great as well. My wife ate the ribs, which she also loved; and chicken on the bone, which the flavor of the chicken was great; but she said the wing was better than the breast. All of our sides were rich in flavor, and my favorite was the mashed potatoes… or the cole slaw. or the baked beans… honestly I can’t decide. Just like my review for Pinkitzel, we got the southern hospitality from the staff, which we truly enjoyed and it really added to the experience.

Got here early and enjoyed listening to Big Anthony take orders over the phone. Man or woman, everybody was«ok baby(boy or girl)». Oops, I just heard«hey sweetie…» Quite a character who definitely gets customer service. Anyway, this review is supposed to be about the food, and it was very good all around… 3 on 3 Hurricane Basket with ribs, brisket and hot links. Sweet tea with cornbread, green beans, sweet corn and collard greens. Everything listed was average to above average(collard greens are hard to do, and these were def above average), but what bumped my review up to 4 stars were the ribs. Oh my Lordy, the ribs! Don’t mess with sauce, just eat ‘em off the bone. Or, try to eat off the bone as the meat slides off. Very tender, great sauce and spices baked in. Very very good in my book! Wish I would’ve gotten the baked beans(had a brain fart — pardon the pun). Next time!

I wanted some good BBQ while in town and I found it at Big Anthony’s! The ribs and meats were excellent, and so were the sides. Big Anthony himself come on by to make sure that everything was to our liking. There are several sauces to choose from. I purchased a few to take home as well.

BBQDONERIGHT. We were greeted at the door by Big Anthony himself he invited us in and acted like he’d known us for years, almost like family. We sat down and ordered at the table which is a bit different from most BBQ places but that is because they cut and prepare everything to order. During our meal the owner came over and asked if everything was good. I said yes. He replied if something isn’t right you tell me and I’ll fix it. That is the kind of BBQ man I want cookin my Q. However, I didn’t have a criticism to make. Finally Tulsa BBQ that does not require BBQ Sauce. I was half way done with my meal when my wife says did you try the sauce yet and I said nope it doesn’t need any. Ribs: Get the ribs, they are tender, with a light smoke and great bark. The fat was rendered down to the kind of lip smackin flavor that you crave in great BBQ ribs. These ribs will hold there own with any other place in town. Brisket: Thick sliced brisket that was tender and yet passed the pull test so it didn’t just fall apart. Also there was a little fat left on the bark that was cooked perfectly and was melt in your mouth. Pulled Pork: was very good with some chunks of bark in it. It didn’t require it but the pork was set off if you added a little extra rub that they had at the table. Flavor explosion. We will be back.

Bit of a hole-in-the wall location, squarely between an abandoned commercial storefront and a storefront church, across the street from a Golden Corral. There was plenty of parking for our 30-foot RV, ambiance inside is quaint. Black plastic table cloths & basket of condiments on every table(spicy BBQ sauce, sweet BBQ sauce, hot sauce). $ 40 bought us the brisket/link sausage/ribs«3 on 3» combo(sides bacon cabbage, potato salad & mac-n-cheese), one brisket sandwich with 2 sides(mac-n-cheese, corn) &2 pulled pork sandwiches with 1 side each(beans, mac-n-cheese) for our family of 4. I don’t normally care for potato salad, but this stuff was Delicious! Pulled pork was okay, brisket, links & ribs were all outstanding. All the sides were YUMMY. Great place to try, glad we found it on Unilocal

Since I am on a 6-week externship in Tulsa, I have decided to embark on a mission to track down some good BBQ. After much research, Big Anthony’s made my list of to-try places. It is located in a very empty and quiet plaza. The parking lot is huge and the plaza seemed to be awfully dead. This place is pretty small and could be easily missed if one is not looking carefully. There is no huge sign or welcoming storefront. It is definitely a hole-in-the-wall joint, which is my absolutely favorite type of eatery. I came here after a long day of work and got the basket with 3 meats(2 hot links, 4 – 5 ribs, and brisket) with 3 sides(I chose garlic mashed potatoes, potato salad, and cabbage). The ribs were the best that I’ve ever had. The rub was amazing(btw, they sell the rub and BBQ sauce too, so be sure to pick some up if you are a huge BBQ-er). I typically like my ribs generously sauced, but this rub was so good that I didn’t feel the need to add much sauce. The meat fell off the bones. Delicious! The hot links were good too, but a little too spicy for me. I was very happy that the meal came with 2 hot links. I love big portions! The brisket was decent, but nothing to write home about. I think it was a little bit on the dry side, so I had to add a good amount of BBQ sauce. The sides were all good, but not WOW-MAZINGGGG. I think the potato salad was very tasty and was actually my favorite. The garlic mashed potatoes were tasty, buttery, and garlicky. The cabbage had bacon and onions, but was a little vinegar-y for me. Still good, and definitely different. My meal cost $ 20 after tax and tip — which is decent for a BBQ meal. The portion was respectable and could have been enough for a meal and a snack, but I decided to eat it all at once :-). The service here is especially great. Anthony is very friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be back before I leave Oklahoma!
