This place is amaze. Had the shrimp scampi, wife had steak(of course). We started with chips and queso which was pretty good. A little strange in a traditional American cuisine restaurant, but ehh — I’m up for whatever, so I tried it. Beer — They didn’t have Blue Moon, but I won’t beat them up on stars for that one — even though their selection was Sam Adams, Coors, Michelob, and Bud. Gross. Scampi was good — a little too much lemon for my taste, but still good. My wife left drooling over her steak and I had a bite. It was delicious. The Cesar salads were really good. A lot of places drown the lettuce in dressing, but these guys got it right. And I don’t know what sorcery these guys used to make those breads they put with the Cesar salads, but oh my Jesus, they were delicious.

I absolutely love charlestons! I’m so glad this one is so close to the house. We use to get the fried chicken platter as well as the catfish platter. Both in which are so yum. Since we we watching our waist line these days we opt to get the chicken salad dinner with grilled chicken instead of the fried one. Order to go and they bring it out to your car! Fast service and a friendly staff makes for an enjoyable experience!

Food is good but it is way over priced. 15 for a salad with nothing special about it! This place feel like a fancy version of Applebee’s. Service was good.

I haven’t been here in years, and my friends wanted to go here for lunch last week. I wasn’t all that excited because I remembered it being just ordinary but it was really pretty good! The service was top notch and the atmosphere was cozy and conducive to conversation. One friend and I had Walt’s Champagne Chicken Salad for lunch. It was mixed greens, pineapples, dates, strawberries, pecans, sunflower seeds, and croutons with a champagne vinaigrette dressing. Oh and a big fat yummy croissant. It was really tasty. My other friend had the Philly sandwich and she really liked it. I will definitely be back! I like going to places that have a good variety of food and it’s not so noisy so that you can actually hear each other!

had the prime rib and it was super salty. almost like they spilled the salt shaker on it and scraped the excess salt off. wasn’t only my dish that was salty. my wife’s steak was also salty. i probably managed to eat only half while my wife just stopped eating after a quarter ways with her steak. it was like someone in the back did not like us or something which would be odd because i did not give my server a hard time at all and the server seemed to be really nice with us. however i told the server about the steaks and he got us the manager right away and handled it professionally. i was very impressed. this place is not so upscale so you can go in casual clothes. atmosphere is loud and dark. i will come back but it will probably be awhile until then.

The food was pretty good. The salad was very good. I had the steak that had been marinated in pineapple juice for 72 hours. It was a little over cooked and so it was dry. But still good overall. Waitress was very friendly and we had good service.

I’ve witnessed it a few times before. During a time of economic downturn, you stop in a place that’s been reliably decent in the past, but since the economy slowed it’s gone to he77. I had the enchilada plate. I would’ve been embarrassed to serve this food at home, much less at a restaurant. Plating was terrible, it looked sloppy and unappetizing. Tasted awful, like it was leftovers warmed up. Son’s pasta was completely overcooked and mushy, also very non-restaurant quality plating. Queso dip tasted unfresh and had a tar-like consistency-it was gross. It was my daughter’s birthday, and this is(was?) her favorite place to go. I mentioned to the server that it was a special occasion, not expecting a «freebie» but remember getting a small dessert for the b’day boy/girl comp’d. Not today. The place was virtually deserted at noon on a gorgeous Saturday afternoon. Now I know why. Very doubtful I’ll be back. I would’ve gone 1 star, but I’ve had some decent meals here in the past, so **.

Exceptional staff. The food is delicious, seasoned and cooked to perfection. We were seated right away without reservations on a weeknight. The portions are great and the ambiance is very nice. The restaurant is very clean and the wait staff pay close attention to detail. My water glass was always filled promptly without me having to ask for more. They are very professional and treat you like you’re dining at a 5 star restaurant.

While driving around Tulsa on a Friday night my wife and I decided to try Charleston’s on Yale for the first time and the experience did not disappoint. It was a busy night and we were told there would be a 35 to 40 minute wait. After about 20 minutes we were called to be seated in a cozy booth. The décor included dim lighting and gas lamps. Our server was Eva and she was excellent. She answered our questions about the menu and mentioned the fish and meat specials of the day. We decided to start with the Shrimp Cargot. Served in a slotted escargot style dish, it was shrimp cooked in garlic herb butter and topped with melted Havarti cheese and a side of butter toasted bread. We both enjoyed this dish. How can you go wrong with garlic, butter and cheese? You can’t! I suspect we will be coming back for this one in the future. For our entrees my wife decided on the Chicken Piccata and I chose the Rigatoni Bolognese. The Chicken Piccata was a nice balance of lemon flavor and salty capers. The Rigatoni Bolognese was really good. The pasta was coated nicely and not swimming in sauce. There was just enough spicy Italian sausage in the dish to give you a hearty meal but not distract you from the pasta being the main focus. When it was time for dessert we chose to share a slice of Key Lime Pie. This was a really great slice of pie notably the handmade whipped cream to the oats in the graham cracker crust. The lime filling was balanced between tart and sweet and was the perfect ending to a satisfying meal. Aside from the food, the service was outstanding. Eva was exceptional and constantly filled my water glass and gave my wife a fresh glass of soda seemingly every time she visited the table. Other staff members also kept out table clear which was really nice. An excellent combination of great food and service will ensure us a return visit to Charleston’s.

4 ladies in town for a girls weekend of shopping and we stopped in here pretty late on a Friday evening, we were pretty hungry. It was DELICIOUS! My mom and I split the french dip — amazing! My daughter had the fried chicken salad — she loved it. My sister had the chicken tenders and a baked potato — again LOVE. The key lime pie for dessert was awesome and we all 4 shared it — it is HUGE. I’ll have to figure out where there are other Charleston’s and try to hit them up when I’m in those towns. There isn’t one in KC but it reminded me a lot of J. Alexander.

Enjoyed the Chicken Fried Steak here with my Dad and son. Three generations meal! The steak had good flavor but was a bit tough. The mashed potatoes with red skins still in the mash were excellent.

Just had one of the worst dining experiences of my life. We met some friends at the 71st& Yale store. My wife and I decided to split an order of salmon. It seemed to tick off the waitress. My wife asked for Brussels sprouts with hers and when it was delivered there were no sprouts on her plate and I had all the mixed veggies on mine. Both plates looked like the food had been slopped on. Waitress had a bad attitude like she didn’t want to be there. Brought us our bill before checking to see if we needed anything else. Will not be back to this location. Must say our bar experiences have been outstanding at this location. This rating is for the restaurant. If management looks at these reviews my receipt number was 511685.

It was one of the long, arduous Wednesdays with seemingly no end in sight. After work all I wanted to do was to use the last«free» pizza from my TulsaDailyDeals pizza card at Naples Flatbread, to help boost my spirits. Instead, pulled into the parking lot to see a sign posted on the door that the 71st street location was closed because they were focusing their business interests to the downtown area. Nothing ever goes my way. «Every day and night. Everything’s alright. At Charleston’s everything’s alright!» Well I didn’t have anything at home to cook and I was already out, so I started considering my options, in the area. Quizno’s? Not feeling it. McNellies? I want to eat decent food, not drink my sorrows away. McDonald’s? I don’t need it. Hey, I’ve seen the commercials for years and I’ve heard decent things. I could try Charleston’s, except that the immediate seating available sign isn’t lit. I’ll probably just have to go home and snack on saltines and make myself a salad. What’s that? You can seat two and a baby right away. «Every day and night. Everything’s alright. At Charleston’s everything’s alright!» Whoa hey an $ 18 French Dip sandwich. I love French Dip’s, but I don’t know if I’m $ 18 in love. Whoa! Did that server just walk by with a chicken fried steak the size of a serving plate. «Every day and night» Oh look, for an extra $ 4, I can get a decent sized portion of prime rib, a side and a salad. «Everything’s alright» Salad was a pretty good, hard to mess up a caesar salad, though. This croissant like roll is fantastic. Also the prime rib is perfectly warm and pink, not over cooked in anyway and not just half of piece of fat with the rest being lean, however it appears that they were a little heavy handed with the herb rub. «At Charleston’s everything’s alright!» Garlic smashed potatoes are tasty. And it it’s dark enough in here that I can drink the au jus without too many people noticing. «Hey soul sister. Ain’t that Mr. mister. On the radio, stereo. The way you move ain’t fair, you know.» Wait what? Anyways, glad I finally made the journey. A bit high priced but you pay for good quality. It maintains the slightly upscale atmosphere that you used to be able to get at a Houlihan’s. Definitely a place to return, if I want to impress the in-laws, but not too much so. «EVERYDAYANDNIGHT! EVERYTHING’S ALRIGHT! ATCHARLESTON’S EVERYTHING’S ALRIGHT!!!»

We ordered two meals to go We were told it would be about 25 minutes. The meal was paid for and while we were waiting we were asked three different times if we had been helped and twice management came out to find out why we were waiting so long. Ultimately the ticket got lost and and they had to start again. My credit card was voided and we received $ 50 in gift certificates to Charleston’s. Bravo.

So, sometimes lunch dates during the workday stress me out. If I have an hour, I don’t want to worry about lines, slow service and just becoming all around anxious. This Charleston’s is a fantastic spot to schedule that lunch date to eliminate all aforementioned fears. There’s plenty of parking, seating(I think we only waited 3 minutes for a comfortable booth,) and all around calmness to get away from your workday. The lighting is dim and feels special. And, the service: top notch. You can tell they make a true effort to hustle during the lunch rush to accommodate people on a time limit. I had the Kale salad; it was generous in portion size and the dressing was just right –not too zesty or overdone. It even came with a lightly glazed croissant which accompanied it perfectly. Can’t wait to come back to this location for a true break!

We have started the take out feature at Charleston’s lately. They have really got that system down. They have some reserved parking in the back and someone comes out to greet you when you pull in, and show you the bill. Once you are ‘checked in’ they go back and get your food when it is ready and bring it out with your receipt. Everything is packaged perfectly and I am surprised how warm everything stays. I guess the only improvement that I could wish for would be the ability to order it online. But the people on the phone are a joy to work with so I guess I would miss that human connection. Highly recommend.

So Unilocal says they are closed on Sunday but they aren’t. Anyways Charleston’s is like your regular American restaurant. The décor is modern with dim lighting and there is a full bar. Our waitress was nice, however, we didn’t see her often and we had other people waiting on us instead. We only saw her at the beginning and end. The staff was however very friendly and attentive with our drinks. I always rate highly on the staff if my drink is not empty and I have to ask for a refill. So I tried the bake potato soup. It was delicious and really taste like a loaded potato. Creamy and had the right consistency. My main meal was the roasted chicken. It was a bit dry but other then it was very good. The bake beans were a little too sweet for my taste. The best part for me was that they split our checks! I had a group of 5 and being from Californian this doesn’t happen often so I was glad. Overall I really enjoyed my dinner and I would come back here.
