To be clear, this is a hot dog stand, inside of a building. This is not a fancy restaurant, or a place to get a meal with all the fixins’, this is hot dogs. You can tell this place has been around for ages, it’s got that old school b&w photograph plastered wall look/feel. The guy you see in those photos from 1960 something? He’s serving you your hot dog now. Same dude. The hot dogs are small, about half the diameter of a ball park hot dog, and about the same length. They are usually served/eaten as a trio. Three dogs, covered in chili, cheese, and onions. Get them. It’s only $ 6! Very friendly staff, very clean, and it’s super quick and easy. I walked in, ordered, paid, and was sat down eating in under 4 minutes. The hot dogs are really simply good. Good flavor and the topping distribution was perfect, from tip to toe. The cool school desk seating is fun, and there is plenty of air circulating to keep you cool from the heat. I’d happily come here again for a mid-day snack(I wouldn’t call it a full meal) but it’ll do well to more than tide you over until the next one. This is simple, classic, American. Hot dogs. Love it.

I would give this place a 5 star if the lady ringing up the food was a bit more friendly. She always has a rude look on her face when we come. The owner is so nice. You can usually find him turning the hotdogs and steaming those buns! I just love the set up is with old school chairs. Conies are the best here in Tulsa, you can’t really find it any where else like it! My belly is always so happy when I visit this place!

I understand that Coney Island has been around forever, and with good reason. Excellent wieners, with great chili and onions. It’s quick, good, and inexpensive. I’d drop by for a quick eat anytime. If you’re from the east coast and know N.Y. System wieners, you’ll feel right at home here.

Great! What else does one need in life than a good Coney Dog? Tamales, maybe a Frito Pie? This place delivers exactly what you want and need when you come in. A great option for before a show or event. And beer sales! Love it, love it, love it! Chili is good, but a little bland. I will be back 10000000 times

A Tulsa tradition since 1926! My grandfather brought my dad here, my dad brought me here, and I’ve brought my nieces and nephews here. It’s deliciously consistent every time. 3 way chili, tamales, or hot wieners… you can’t go wrong with anything.

It’s always a shame when they close down and have to relocate, but it’s always a joy when they re-open. This new location is probably the best. Roomier than previous establishments, with the majority of seating being the old school desks, but this time there’s a large communal table and some seating along a wall. Prices are still the same. The workers are still friendly. Added bonus is that they no longer charge for drink refills. Always good for a quick lunch, snack, and now readily available after some Brady District/Guthrie green fun.

Take me back to Tulsa for another Coney! No matter the location(main, boston, behind prime) folks who know whats up will gravitate to the center of the universe aka the new islander. They also serve beer at this locatiom amd drinks are included.

Old school desk with old school environment. Everything is Old school indeed, But one thing is for sure, the subs here are awesome as hell. You can also see how clean they make their food here. We love this place.

I have to agree with John H, I expected a hot dog, this was not. Staff was ok, the seats, whatever.

I love this place! I remember when my dad first brought my brother and me to the old location 54 years go. There was something magical about it, from standing in line on the sidewalk outside watching them make the coneys to sitting in the old school desks underneath slowly spinning ceiling fans. They didn’t offer cheese back then, so I still get the original with mustard, chili and onions on a steamed bun. Yum! Three is a nice snack, six is a pretty good little meal. The most I ever ate in one sitting(in 1969) was 15. The guy behind the counter said that wasn’t even close to the record. I now live 130 miles from Tulsa, but have been known to make a 260 quick round trip for the sole purpose of grabbing some Tulsa coneys. Recently, I have met several people, also originally from the Tulsa area, who make coney runs as well. We decided one of these nice fall Saturdays, we’re going to get together and make a run to Tulsa for coneys. To those leaving bad reviews: Go away. When you start talking«snap,» it’s obvious that you watch too much Food Channel and are trying WAAAY to hard to sound sophisticated. My guess is that you always pour your Old Milwaukee into a pilsner glass so you can whiff the floral bouquet of the hops and comment on the lacing on the side of the glass.

Outstanding dogs and chili. I order mine with everything and my order was fastly assembled and just like I ordered it. The staff was very friendly and really went out of there way to make us feel welcomed I will be revisiting in the near future.

Let me you straight about this Coney Island– this here is your Coney Islander hotdog Tulsa style. This is not a Chicago dog. This is not about a bunch of fancy toppings and some kind designer bun loader w bespoke hipster happy meat curated by a bearded gentleman who names all of his own livestock. This is the old school. The original. The one and only. It is a steamed bun and a slow grilled very small dog with simple, straightforward mustard and onions hot dog. It is not a charred sausage that«snaps in your teeth» where you get that crazy idea, John H. This is intended to be a tender morsel, dripping slightly spicy chili in a white bun. As has been reference by previous Unilocalers this place has been around for a long time. 1926. I’ve been coming here since probably around 1975 when my sister and I would stop in on our way to the library and make«suicides» which is what you call it when you let kids self serve and they mix every single kind of soda available at the fountain. Delicious with Frito pie, which is also perfect here. Full circle from my vegetarian and organic produce phases I came straight back to this place. I eat here every time I’m in town because I respect what they do: This dog. This bun. This chili. It is all perfect. The special — 3 chili dogs and a «free» drink for 6 $- will fix almost any hangover. And yes, they have a bathroom for paying customers, because this corridor of gentrification also shares a lot of traffic with the local jail and homeless shelter. The bathroom, like the rest of this joint, is utilitarian and spotless.

I’ve grown up eating here(although it was in a different location) so one might suppose that my love for the food here is purely nostalgic, but you would be wrong. There are plenty of things I loved as a child but can’t stomach today. The conies here, however, remain one of my favorite things to eat in Tulsa. I could care less if they are«authentic» or not. Actually I can’t even tell you why I love these things so much. I normally don’t go for things that are covered in neon colored cheese. Are these things even food? Or are they items swiped from my daughters craft box? I don’t know– I just know that they are delicious and I can’t stop eating them.

If you are use to real coneys, the kind where the skin of the hotdog snaps when your teeth bite into the hotdog, this is not the Coney Island for you. I thought I had found my favorite Coney in Tulsa all the way up until my first bite. When you walk in there are old school desks. You know the kind; the ones where the desktop is connected to the chair itself. All the seats are facing forward and it was busy enough to make me feel like I was on to something. The menu was simple. For me, I knew I wanted coneys and there were only 2 options on the menu. With or without cheese is the choice. I ordered with of course. Both options included a «free drink» for less than $ 6.00. I filled my Pepsi and say down excited for what I was certain would add another layer to my Tulsa dining experience, what happened next left me underwhelmed and severely disappointed. Expecting the snap of a firm hot dog covered in chili, cheese, and onions… nothing. I looked at my sandwich only to see a pale, white, limp hot dog. It looked water logged and could have easily been traded for a thin Bar-S brand hot dog boiled in water. I finished my three coneys as they didn’t taste bad, however this will be the only time I ever come here. I’m beginning to wonder if an authentic coney is nothing but a dream this far south and inland. This place would be excellent based on atmosphere, location, and simplicity… if only the main attraction would have showed up. Overall disappointing.

Hands down the bomb. I’ve been a loyal customer since my grandfather introduced me as a little lad. That’s about 18 years of eating these perfect sized coneys with their secret chili sauce and delicious cayenne pepper(optional). The new location is their biggest and nicest upgrade throughout the years. I applaud this family for keeping it going and keeping the originality. The hype is worth the trip.

Stale chewy bums, cooking hot dogs on a home griddle, and below average chili. Not impressed at all. One and done, not worth another visit.

Coney Island is one my family’s all time favorite places to stop in Tulsa, OK. They have fast service, clean restrooms, and good old-fashioned hot dogs that have been served for 89 years. You have a choice of topping your hotdog with chili, mustard, onion, or all three. If you are not feeling a hotdog, a Frito pie or a root-beer float is also available. The best thing about the Coneys is the small size, making it easy to have two or three and be perfectly full without exploding. The new venue is nice. Seating is individual, old, classroom style chairs and there is not a place for a huge family to sit around a table. See you again, Coney Island!
