The«locals» here were RUDE! My husband is Mexican, the lady who was sitting at the bar in front of us just kept staring in shock and shaking her head in complete disgust INFRONT of his face! I said hello to her and kind of shooed her to stop staring impolitely but she took that has more fuel to stare and be completely disgusting towards him, the table behind us decided to join, we had to take our food to go for the complete embarrassment. Beside that the food was ok, I ordered the hamsteak it was really salty, but had a wonderful taste. The hash browns and eggs were my favorite, coffee was delicious too, the portions were SO generous, you get a lot of food which was a huge plus. Our waitress was so kind and so patient wth us. Our 2 children were cranky as all get out and each waitress came with different entertainments until our food came out, absolutely loved how interactive they were with our children. I wish the locals weren’t so completely embarrassing, we really would’ve loved to enjoyed the food here and sit there.

Its great for a hole in the wall dinner. Its cheap and decent food. I know that comes with the territory, but a few of the waitresses there are way to crass. Greasy spoon waitresses always have a way about them, but that’s no reason to be out rite rude to your customers.

Top notch café establishment. The portions are generous, the prices are low, and the food is excellent. The staff is friendly and accommodating. I couldn’t help but notice how many regulars walked in the door and were greeted by their first name as soon as they entered. A true community asset. No frills, just a lot of great food for not a lot of money.

Great food, large portions, and amazing prices. Known several members of the staff and the owner practically all my life and my mother used to work there. Great mom and pop place.

Excellent and old school. Fancy types need not apply but if you want a good home style breakfast this is your place.

This is a simple run of the mill diner that has seen better days. The food is average at best and the place has that old musty run down look to it. The food is ok, nothing to recomend, just ok.

Neat place! Food not very good. Just had a waffle but it had very little flavor. The service was so so.

They fell a long way from the breakfasts we had last time. The hamburger bun was soggy and the meat was burned. The french fries were good. The short stack was so gummy, my husband didn’t even want more than ¼ of them. Staff very nice. It was 2 hours to close, but they had already cleaned up. Maybe 1900 is too late to go. We probably wouldn’t go back, even though I wish them well on their business.

Corner Café is about as standard as it gets in the world of diner food. That’s a pretty neutral summation, but it’s true. Based on this, you pretty much know what to expect here. Just keep your expectations in check, and you’ll walk away happy, and stuffed. This CC gets bonus points for a very convenient, near downtown location. They run a mild special in the early evening; buy one meal, get one for half price. I find diners to be all about the magic of lowered expectations. Do you really need a place in great repair and sparkling cleanliness, while nursing a hangover? No, you don’t– and neither do I. If you’re looking for a fancy brunch place, this is not where you go. Otherwise, enjoy it for what it is. You’re hungry. They have food. Do the math?

I came here from out of town and this restaurant was close by, so it was natural to go there. It looks like it’s in the style of the«Sambos»(there’s only one Sambos left today) — or like the style of a Denny’s. The one I’m reviewing is at 5301 S Peoria Ave. I don’t see that one listed in Unilocal, but it’s actually there. From what my relatives and friends tell me, this restaurant has been around for decades. It does show it’s age, for sure, and it’s not one of those high-priced, shiny, glitzy, corporate chain-type restaurants with the high prices and where the«beautiful people» like to go to be seen. No, these are your average people, workers, mothers and fathers(and their kids) — a regular old-fashioned family type restaurant that shows it’s been around for a while and still maintains a faithful following to stay in business! It also has a completely separate smoking section — in a different room, so that whether you smoke or not — you don’t cross paths with the others on the other side of the line. I don’t smoke, but several of my friends and relatives do, so I sometimes get stuck in that other room. There’s something to be said for good old-fashioned family-style restaurants that have been around for a long time. I like to give my money to some of my fellow«average Joes» for their faithful, dedicated and hard work. The food is good and down-home and the help is hard-working, to make you feel at home.

It was my favorite place, I was younger adult and went into the place in every breakfast. I love corner café and you can smoke in another room. Now, I will be back in someday–

This is a classic dirty diner. The place may not be in the best shape, but you go there for the food. Great greasy diner food. The one-meat omelet had at least 5 pieces of thick-cut bacon. Top notch. Hash browns, grits and french toast were great, and all at a very cheap price. The wait staff is as it should be at a diner… interesting and very entertaining. If I lived in Tulsa, this would be my regular breakfast spot.

Not the cleanest or well-kept place. The chairs at the counter were wobbly and the booths were falling apart. Look closely at the menu and its prices because French Toast with 2 eggs costs $ 4.49 but if you order them separately it will save you a quarter! The wait staff was very… Interesting…

I just recently started going back to Corner Café after years of staying away because the quality of the food and service had gone so far downhill. What a difference a few years make! The food is better than ever and the service is spot on! This is not the kind of place to take a date, but if you want a good meal and fast and friendly service Corner Café is back to what it used to be 20 years ago.

Kinda scary, really. The place is not the cleanest, the condition of te facilities is rather poor with ceiling panels dirty, etc. Clientele is an odd mix if folks, some dirty construction workers, country people, urban. Coffe is ok and service fair. Meat Omelet was quite large and tasty but ultimately greasy, large but very good hash browns. Dont think I’ll be back.

I love corner café! It’s a great little place for some diner cooking. I love greasy spoon food sometimes, especially at a price I can afford. I also love the interesting customers that walk in there(such as myself). The food is really good. I took my friend there on one occasion and I had forgotten how cheaply priced their food is. You get a lot of food for the price you pay and it’s pretty good too. Service is good, although sometimes they’ve forgotten my coffee, but they’re always nice and prompt to get me anything I need, making up for any mistakes. =) Also, the place has a separately ventilated place for a smoking section, which is nice if you smoke(Do people want cigarettes with their waffles though? really?) I love their breakfast meals, especially their blueberry pancakes! Definitely get your breakfast from this place!
