MYFAVORITERESTAURANTEVER! I’m from Maryland and look forward to my yearly trip with my fiancée(Tulsa native) to Tulsa to visit his family. We come for a week or two every June. We are currently visiting Tulsa and within the first 48 hours we ate here 3 times… it’s just that good! Plus, the staff and the owners are wonderful. It just doesn’t get any better than this. Home style cooking at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend the chicken fried steak!

Best little diner with home cooking. Owner is great and it’s a family owned business. Waitresses are awesome and will take great care of you. I like the frito pie and love the chicken fried steak and eggs. I have been going her for over 16 years and they always take good care of us.

It’s the best Family Diner in town. I love all the staff they are like family. There aren’t any one of them holding back. If you want to be in there group eat there. It’s awesome the people are awesome. The owner is Awesome. He cooked me special food all the time. The food is always perfect. I love the spinach and mashed potatoes with corn and green beans. Ricky makes the best salad ever. Just the way she likes it. Me too. I’ll be BACK.

Another winner! This restaurant has yet to have a bad service. It is always packed as soon as it opens until it closes. We love their eggs and bacon. They are to die for. Seriously. You haven’t had eggs and bacon until you’ve eaten here. I also love their Belgian waffle. It is huge and I can never finish it. It is rare for me to not have a single negative thing to say about a restaurant… but in this case, it is well deserved. Drop on by, you won’t be disappointed!!!

I have had lunch with clients and weekend breakfast with friends and family and they do a nice job for the price. Love the car décor and eclectic set up.

My partner really likes this place. He has more of a southern cooking palette while I have more of a spicy or seasoning palette, so it’s not my favorite, but I can still find something good to eat at this diner. He really likes chicken fried steak, which generally is a bland meal for me, but I’ll eat it here. If chicken fried steak, or such things as steak & eggs or chicken and dumplings, is of your ilk, this is one of the better diners in town. Ambience option below should include a «Diner» radial button. This would fall under that category. The building is older, bit run down in places, but the food and service areas are clean.

Really yummy! My fiancé & i had been looking for a great southern homecookin café for breakfast… Found this place while driving one morning. It’s quite a ways from us, wish there was another place but closer to 61st. Since it is quite away’s and nothing else is over there that would give us something to do afterwards we just don’t go anymore. The last star is not there because It is always super cold in there and the sausage doesn’t taste like real sausage… tastes more like turkey or something weird. Other then that i truly loved eating there and miss it. So if your heading that away be sure to stop by. they always have their specials wrote on a board facing the entrance so it won’t be hard to miss unless your looking at the ceiling the whole time hehe.

This is a great, greasy little café. Totally worthwhile, and they’ve got a large menu. Situated in the middle of intersecting blue-collar Tulsa neighborhoods. Plenty of old school diner charm here.

I just went with John and his parents to this sweet little café for the first time. It’s definitely café food and with a café atmosphere. Polite staff, very attentive to their tables needs, and good olé greasy, terrible for you food. It needs some updates but I think that’s also part of the charm(the fact that it looks as old as the building is). John’s dad really loves the place and it was fun to go to. I’d recommend it if you’re looking for a small town café on Rt 66.

I had a disaster at my house and am not able to cook at the present time. After five years of driving by this restaurant and observing the parking lot filled each time, I finally used a coupon I received in the mail. That was two weeks ago. I have been there four times since then. Their food is all homemade. It is true comfort food. The first time my friend and I had chicken fried steak. Oh yeah! Second time the meatloaf scored. Third, egg breakfast was just like mama’s. Fourth I had turkey and dressing in July. You got it — great. They have specials every day that are posted on the board when you walk in. Even if you just go and have their home made rolls and a big glass of cold sweet tea, you will be content. Their pies are all homemade also. My daughter had short ribs(I wouldn’t have picked that one) and she said they were wonderful. They fell off the bone. The waitstaff is very personable also. Good folks. I plan on eating there at least once a week until I get my kitchen back and then a few times a month.

I can’t believe I’m going to eat this. I don’t think you can order one healthy thing here, but my mom loves it. Of course, she’s a noncompliant diabetic.

While traveling thru Tulsa late on a Friday night, we stopped in. We were amazed at the prices, quantity and quality of food. I had the sirloin steak, baked potato and salad(baked potato counted as 2 sides). Husband had vegetable plate with huge rolls. Looked to be lots of locals and regulars as the waitresses knew many of the people. If you are looking for a excellent diner this is it!

Found this little gem via an acquaintance, and I must say I was impressed. I’ve eaten at many café’s and this is one of the better ones I personally have been to. The ambiance of the place is great with many interesting and unique model cars throughout and the staff was very prompt and friendly. I had the spaghetti(a risky move at a place not specializing in Italian) but again I was quite impressed. The noodles are typical of a non-Italian restaurant, though not overdone, and the sauce was great — very nice flavor and very meaty. A side salad(or soup) and a piece of garlic butter Texas toast completes the meal, and for only $ 6.99 it was more than a fair proportion to cost ratio. I would recommend anyone that enjoys a quiet place with home cooked food to try it out!

Kinda far out there on Sheridan in the east side of Tulsa. Two main rooms and a counter, lots of interesting metal car models in wood/glass cases and Elvis/Route 66 memorabilia throughout. Big blackboard with other comfort foods like roast beef, meatloaf, pork chops, etc. Got the Chicken Friend Steak and eggs and was very good, almost as fine as Nelson’s but close. Still it was perfectly cooked, hand breaded, not greasy, crispy outside and tender meat inside. GOOD white gravy too. Eggs and hash browns were standard, as was the coffee. Friendly sweet waitress(a Latina) Fine home style food.

I stopped in here for dinner last night on the suggestion of a co-worker(it’s fairly close to where I work) and was quite pleasantly surprised. The menu is extensive and the prices are reasonable, not to mention the service is fast and friendly. The place has a «neighborhood diner» feel and a relaxed atmophere. Considering the wide selection on the menu, and the fact that it’s so close to work, I’ll be going back often to try it all.

It’s a neighborhood diner with home cooking, good service and lots of regulars. When you walk in you seat yourself. You definitely notice the classic car décor. Be sure to check out the specials on the white board as they change daily. Sometimes they serve rack of lamb which I will try someday. The full menu is served all day. I recommend the turkey and dressing dinner. It’s like Thanksgiving every time I order it. In fact, it’s better than what I had on Thanksgiving. I usually order it when I don’t know what I want to eat. The turkey is moist and tender, the dressing is flavorful and the mashed potatoes and gravy complete this plate. It also comes with a roll, a side and soup or salad. The onion rings are sliced thin, battered light, hot, greasy and good. If you want fried chicken pieces, order the broiled chicken. It takes 15 minutes to cook your chicken but it comes out moist and tender. If you order fried chicken on the menu, you will get chicken strips so be sure to ask to avoid confusion. One more note, the sweet tea is really good there. What you should know is this: the food is consistent, the service is good and the prices are reasonable.
