I have been to Kaffe Bona 3 times now. The coffee is great however the food is never the same. I’ve had great food, cold food and burnt food. I’m a chef and every time I’m here, I’m clearly in a Chef coat, it’s just disappointing that they don’t strive for consistency… especially when it’s obvious that I’m going to be more critical than a random person… Why would you serve burnt food to anyone… There is no pride at Kaffe Bona it’s just a great location for steady business.

Inside the old east land mall. Great coffee! Low prices. They also have sandwhiches and desserts

Short story: This place has AWESOME food, I mean really really delicious options. Down side? You will probably wait 20 – 30 minutes to get through the line and get your food which can make it very stressful for a lunch hour. Kaffe Bona is located inside the old mall turned office building that has the Paul Mitchell school, University of Phoenix, some Coca-Cola corporate offices and some other businesses. It’s a great little place and I’m personally a big fan of their Southwest chicken wrap, their Bistro salad(an incredible combination of fresh greens, blue cheese, walnuts and berries), and their Bacon Ranch sandwich. They also have a full functioning coffee bar where you can get a major array of coffees in all shapes and sizes, including soy milk and sugar free flavor options! They also have a little bakery case for your sweet tooth. I mean really, there isn’t much that you could want that they don’t have here, and if you’re willing to wait the time it’s well worth the food. If they could get their act together on the timing they could easily be five stars, but honestly the wait is a little ridiculous and just based on that I almost gave them three stars. However, the staff is so sweet and apologetic for the wait as they rush around making your food from scratch that I went ahead and gave four stars. Enjoy!
