Shish Kabobs

The food was amazing! The pita tasted fresh, best hummus I’ve ever had, loved the falafel and Gyros sandwich. My husband enjoyed the tabbouli. I even liked it and I’m not usually a fan of it. Finished off with a piece of very delicious baclava. Highly recommended.

Food quality and service was great. The gyros was delicious, as was the steak kabob. Your better off getting a special for the price. My only problem was that I felt the portions could have been bigger.

Yummy yummy! Pretty quick lunch and inexpensive. Staff is very friendly and attentive. I love their falafel sandwiches and their salads are also v good. Bring a sweater! Very cold inside…

Cabbage rolls —- I really haven’t looked at the menu to see what’s in it — but do not miss this! So good! The chicken was ridiculously perfect — the rice –just the right amount of sweetness.
The hummus was amazing and the pita, perfect.
Somebody said they didn’t want to give it to much hype because we don’t wanted to be overcrowded… So true. But it’s so good I feel like I have to tell people about it.

Let me start off by saying Oklahoma doesn’t appeal much to me. So I don’t always come up here expecting to find a place that I really love but Shish Kabobs changed that for me.
When it comes to Persian food, I am REALLY picky. I usually prefer family cooking. So it’s only ever so often that a Persian restaurant really impresses me. I constantly lament at the fact that Shish Kabobs is 300 miles away from where I live.
I’ve been here a couple of times with family (we order a LOT) so let me break it down for y’all.
Appetizers: My favorites are the shirazi (Persian salad), yogurt salad (cucumber yogurt w mint) and the hummus. The Shirazi and yogurt are Persian staples when it comes to eating kabob. They are best as sides to compliment the entrée. You get to pick one side with your entrée so make sure to order one or the other separately. I recommend you don’t finish it all before the kabob arrives. (Perfect order would be eat the hummus as appetizer on it’s own, and then salad and yogurt with the kabob or don’t listen to me, whatever floats your boat.)
Entrees: Chelo kabob is my all-​time favorite. Usually other Persian restaurants tend to overdo it or dry them out, but at Shish Kabobs they are perfect and juicy. The joojeh (chicken) is succulent and buttery as well. I’d just go with the combo platter at this point so you get the best of both worlds. And if you’re feeling really brave, get the gormeh sabzi. It will change your life. This sautéed herb stew is Persian soul food and Shish Kabobs does a great job of reminding me of home.
Overall, I love Shish Kabobs. I’m so sad it isn’t here in Texas. At home, kabob places charge like $ 14 – 16 (usually $ 17) for a platter so the prices here are a steal. The owners are also the sweetest human beings and always do their best to make you feel at home. I seriously contemplating driving up there right now after writing this review.

The food here is great and always very fresh. The prices are fair. I really love the rose cake. The owners are wonderful! They remember their guests upon return visits and always greet them very warmly.

This is the hole in the wall place that you’ll only want to tell SOME of your friends about. I was tempted not to fill out a review so Shishkabobs isn’t exposed to the masses but it’s too cruel to keep this establishment secret.
Beautiful Mediterranean food in Tulsa. Delicious, scrumptious, well-​crafted hummus. That is the most important thing you need to take away here. This hummus is not pummeled with garlic. This hummus has just the right amount of oil. This hummus is going to be licked off the plate at the end of your meal.
I ordered the chicken dinner plate — perfect rice and marinated chicken. The food came out very quickly and the service was excellent. No fear of breaking the bank at Shishkabobs — simple décor, in a strip mall, focused on first generation middle eastern food.
The tea and cake at the end of the meal is not to be missed. I love this spot — it’s a bit of a trek for me (located at 31^st and Garnett) but worth it for reliable comfort food.

Wow! Homemade hummus. In Tulsa! And the chicken curry soup is amazing. Not too spicy but full of flavor. Topped off with the gyro supreme and I was full for hours.
The staff is beyond friendly. The chef even came out and said hello. This is a place not to be missed.
The price is extremely reasonable particularly for this quality of food. I’m already thinking about who I’ll bring here next.

Ordered to-​go falafel, hummus and dolmeh. It was pretty good. The falafel had good flavor but was a bit dry. The hummus was tasty but a bit on the oily side. Dolmeh was good. I’d go back when in the neighborhood.

Best of the three middle eastern restaurants I’ve tried in the area. Restaurant is clean, friendly staff and simple menu not a 30 page menu. food has great flavor and well presented.

Vey good tabouli. The gyro meat is thin, tender and flavorful. The chicken kabobs are flavorful.

This place is amazing and the staff is friendly. This little gym is next to subways and always looks close, but it’s not. I had the combo platter with Shoah kabob and gyro. The rice is seasoned well and I had a side or chicken curry soup, which hit the spot. I washed it all down with hot tea. I will be back again

Had a lunch special with Gyros meat, chicken curry soup, tabouli, and white rice for $ 7.99. Nearly cried when I saw the price. The Gyros meat was tender and juicy, the chicken curry soup was flavorful and pretty mildly spiced, and the tabouli was really something special– extra fresh and creamy. The hummus appetizer was pleasantly lemony with plenty of olive oil, an element that is usually skimped on. Haven’t had this great of middle eastern cuisine in T-​town since Halim and Mimi’s closed. Please visit this place if you are in Tulsa, and encourage them to move their location downtown so they can capture the audiences they so richly deserve.

Great little Greek café tucked away in the corner of a shopping center. Food was delicious, and their lunch special is a great deal. It’s a lot of food for a small price. The atmosphere was nice and relaxing, with lovely Greek stringed music playing in the background. The service was great and the staff very helpful. I highly recommend stopping by for lunch or dinner.

Plain café with really good food and interesting patrons. The gyros sandwich is among the best I’ve had and the tabouli was deliciously different.
The table next to us was an elderly trio that had me laughing with the off-​cuff conversation… but maybe that’s just Tulsa. Will definitely revisit whenever I am visiting.

Great little place for lunch, haven’t been any other time of day but i am sure the food is the same, just the prices are different. They have good lunch specials and the lamb/​gyro meat is one of the best i have had. It is very tender.
I tried their Lenten soup which was blended up, which i wasn’t a fan. It was a bit gritty for some reason.
