I loved this restaurant. The best Barracho beans and grilled rotisserie chicken. I’m so sad it has closed.

Great lil tex mex joint. Salsa bar is great. We used to eat here every Sunday after church. Prices were great and we were on a tight budget at the time. Four of us ate here for about 20 bucks.

As far as fast food Mexican restaurants are concerned, Taco Cabana hits the nail right on the head. On every occasion I’ve been to the midtown location, the restaurant has always been clean(even the bathrooms) and the service was impeccable. Admittedly I get the same menu item each time I go there, the chicken fajita taco combo … but the salsa bar always has fresh, great tasting salsas and the tortillas used for the soft tacos are brilliant(they’re nice & thick just like the ones I’ve bought in Mexico) and my lunch crew and I can be in/out of there in 30 minutes or less. For the price and speed of service, you really can’t go wrong with this location!

Ok well this was one of those lets try this place kinda deals. Right when I walked in and saw the line backing up at the register I knew it was going to be interesting. I ordered the combo platter minus beans. It was at this moment I realized the cashier was yup you guessed it new… Got my number went to set down and the first table I went to was dirty. ok skip that one on to the next wellll it’s dirty too… Whip off this one and settle in. When my food was delivered it was the right platter but had them beans on it… so I stated to the guy that I ordered no beans. He said well we got a new girl on the register so… He then walked off. I was Shocked not even an offer to change it or any sort of condolence. Won’t return

Originally, I was going to give rate Taco Cabana 2 – 3 stars. 3 stars(the good): The food is decent for a fast food chain. The brisket tacos were really good, and their guacamole and chips were pretty good for a fast food place. The homemade tortillas did, indeed, taste homemade, even if they were a little thick and more like soft flatbreads than traditional tortillas. There is a wide selection of salsas and condiments on the salsa bar(the pineapple salsa was pretty delish). 2 stars(the bad): A lot of the tables were dirty. It was kind of a challenge to find a table that had been wiped down. The condiment bar seemed a little less than hygienic, and wasn’t replenished while we were there. Also, they didn’t have lids that fit the smaller drink cups, which seems like a basic oversight. I’m not sure if they were a little short-staffed when we visited, or if some people were new, but the kitchen seemed a little dysfunctional. If it’s noticeable from the dining room, it can’t be a good situation. 1 star(the really bad): I felt fine directly after eating. Thirty minutes later, those tacos hit by stomach pretty hard. The next morning, I was reliving those brisket tacos because I was throwing up all of them. Food poisoning is not cool.

I’d never been to a Taco Cabana and my expectations were quite low. I was hoping for some pescetarian-friendly option like shrimp, fish, or even just veggie tacos with black beans. Taco Cabana definitely has that covered, as they offer all of the above. I went with a Shrimp Tampico bowl. I expected something similar to the burrito bowls I order at restaurants like Moe’s, Qdoba, etc. It was the same thing AND equally good(with plenty of nicely seasoned shrimp) but two dollars cheaper! However, it also came in a big crispy taco shell bowl which I threw away… next time I’d know what to expect! I hated simply wasting the shell, but my taste buds and waistline have no love for that. My husband really enjoyed his black bean tacos. The dining room was more fast casual than fast food with cute Corona tables and vintage-style chairs and stools with chrome legs. The only complaint I have is we visited around 8 pm and they seemed ready to close, which I notice echoes another review here. We were not pressured to take our order to go, but the salsa bar was totally out of ½ the varieties and there were no condiment cups or napkins available. A worker was messing around in that area throughout our entire meal, muttering angrily to herself, but by the time we left there were still no napkins. I almost took off 2 stars for that, but one seems fitting. For the price, this was still above par.

Fast food for sure! But a cut above Taco Bell and taco Bueno The Salsa bar and the hand made tortillas were a nice surprise here Food was nice and greasy like Mexican should be! Only weak link here is the per made/not fresh guacamole! Taco dinner and drink …$ 7.19

Yes I’m aware this is a cheap chain kind of like a mix between Taco Bell and a chill sit down Mexican restaurant, but the food is good and very cheap! I had their personal quesadilla special(it was some shrimp cajun thing that tasted amazing) for about 4 bucks and it was big! My friend got a chicken burrito, also for 4 bucks, and it was like the size of his arm. Seriously! It was massive and they packed a lot of yummy stuff in there, I tried it and it was very good. So, it’s a cheap tasty chain. When you’re in a hurry and hankerin for some mexican food, go here

This has to be the worst Taco Cabana I’ve ever been to. I live in South Texas and occasionally work out of state. While in Tulsa, I was thrilled to see a ‘Mexican’ restaurant I was familiar with. That excitement was quickly mellowed upon entering the front door. We walked in restaurant 20 minutes prior to closing, to which the manager, standing at the register taking orders, was quick to encourage us to get ‘to go’ orders. He was very rude and unprofessional while taking the order, never leaving his resting position, with his right arm rested on the free chips counter top. After the order was placed, rather than handing the customer their cup, he would tap the stack with his left hand, because the right was resting, and say, «Cups are right here.». Remember, this is the Manager! We later learned he was was a new manager, but you would think he should have received SOME kind of training. We went ahead and took out orders To-Go since we were encouraged to do so. Starving, I dove right in to my bag of food and pulled out a bean & cheese taco before leaving the TC’s parking lot. The taco was so cold I had to wait until I reached the hotel to microwave it before eating. I figured it’d be more beneficial to write a review here, than complain to a manger that should be fired and would most likely sweep the whole issue under the rug. On a second visit a few nights later, we learned that this Manager was new and many employees were not happy with him. This time we received EXCELLENT service from two female employees, one of which I have seen here for many years. It’s a shame one bad apple can leave such a sour taste in ones mouth!

It might sound ridiculous, but Cabana is by far the best Mexican food in town. I love it. So much. In fact, I’m going to stop reviewing it and go eat there right now…

Nice mix of fast food and sit down style dining, they have good food for low prices, and a great little outside patio for the warm days. Makes for a good escape for a work lunch or a nice quick evening meal.

I loved this place but some of the Tulsans(sp?) were a tad nasty. Just a couple of dudes. I’d still go back.

I can not even tell you how many meals I have frequented here… I mean… goodness. When I was working on my house all hours of the night and day… and all the time, this place seemed to be always open. I love the Cabana Bowls and the huge… huge, ridiculously huge burritos. The whole Chickens are so amazing, perfectly spiced and cooked. So tender the meat falls off the bones. I like it here. Too much! Thank you staff of Taco Cabana for the warm fresh tortillas, the hook ups, the smiles, and the friendship… I miss you. the end.
