We went for the chicken fried steak and weren’t disappointed. We didn’t arrive until around 2 pm on a Sunday but everything was hot, fresh and good. The CFS was tender and really crisply battered. Mashed potatoes were real potatoes and the brown beans had great flavor. Cornbread served hot on a hot plate, hot rolls large and yeasty. Big bowls of cream gravy so you could add your own to the CFS and potatoes. Would go back and while there we saw lots of people having breakfasts that looked very inviting.

I went to Tally’s on Christmas Day because there wasn’t much else open and had usually enjoyed the food and atmosphere. On this day I was alone and sat at a booth for a good 20 minutes before someone took my order. They weren’t any busier than normal and several waitresses walked right by me while I waited. Then after ordering it didn’t take long to get my food but the person took off before I could ask for silverware. I had to get up and go ask someone for it. On top of the poor service there was someone in there being very rude to other customers and the staff did nothing about it. I don’t think I’ll be recommending or returning to Tally’s.

My buddy recommended Tally’s for my vacation to Tulsa, and I’m glad I went. Along with the generous portions of breakfast food, thanks to the low counter, you also receive a generous helping of breast tissue with your order. Also, to all the people complaining about the waitresses taking a long time to get your order: It’s Oklahoma. In Oklahoma, people leave you alone until you speak up or you sit there long enough that it starts to get awkward. So when you go in to Tally’s, put your Oklahoma hat on, sack up and say howdy to the waitress.

Lots of great breakfast options at a fair price. Lots of food included with the omelette plates. I loved the Mediterranean omelette.

We always come back to Tally’s when we’re in town. I was able to eat here twice during my sparse five-day visit back home. It has a large menu with breakfast served all day. It’s a classic retro diner. The two factors create too strong of a magnetic force for me to avoid. Our second visit this week was a bit of disappointment to some in our party, but the manager did his part and comped some of our bill. The employees was also great in hearing some of our complaints this day. I don’t have a favorite meal, but I recommend the Fried Green Tomatoes as an appetizer.

Did you know I’m invisible? That shouldn’t come as surprise to most of you, especially if you’ve ever seen me try to talk to a woman. I’m invisible to women. I’ve accepted that. But apparently I’m not only invisible to women in a social setting, my power of invisibility seemingly has rendered me inaudible as well. Let me explain. One of my favorite things to do on Sunday mornings is to go to breakfast somewhere. It doesn’t matter where, just somewhere. I haven’t gone in a about a year, so this morning I decided to treat myself and head out. I hadn’t been to Tally’s in a long time, and I couldn’t remember why I stopped going there. So I drove there, and somehow found a parking spot. I entered the doors at exactly 10:00am. The place was filled, and the smell of freshly brewing coffee, pancakes and syrup permeated the place. You know, that great smell all really good breakfast joints have. Not only did I get a parking spot, but upon entering, got a booth immediately. So I sat and watched orders being taken to hungry(and some hungover) diners. I watched a server roll silverware. I watched the waitresses stand around and yuck it up, between meal deliveries. I watched the busboy clear tables, and waitresses scurry to their tables. I watched all of this for 20 minutes, while I waited for someone, anyone, to give me a menu, and take my drink order. Finally one of «Tally’s angels»(if you’ve ever been there, or have seen the Seinfeld episode about big boobed waitresses, you know what I’m talking about) walked by and glanced at me. About a minute later she comes over with a menu and asks how long I’d been there. I looked at my watch and it had been 25 minutes. «You must’ve had on your cloak of invisibility»(told ya I was invisible) she tried to joke. A second later she drops off my coffee, but before I could ask for cream, she was gone. About 10 minutes later another one of «Tally’s angels» comes to my table. «Do you know what you want?» She asks. No hello. No how are you? No I’m sorry it’s taken so long. Just, «Do you know what you want?» Ok…I get it… Ya’ll are busy, and chit-chat isn’t a luxury. I was a waiter(a very bad waiter in college, but a waiter nonetheless) and I get the idea. So I place my order. «HUH?» she asked So I said it again. «I can’t hear you» she says. So I say it louder. «Huh?» again. So I say it loud enough that the people sitting across from me can hear it. So much so, that the guy thats shoveling biscuits and gravy in his mouth looks up at me. «Huh?» I was fine before, but now I’m pissed. So in a lower voice said, «Just forget it.» THAT she heard! «What do you mean?» «I mean I’ve sat here for almost 20 minutes waiting patiently, and now you act like you can’t hear me. Thanks but no thanks.» So I get up to pay for the coffee that sat there and got cold, and never touched, and she says«You have to pay for this.» I didn’t say anything, just stood in the ever growing line to pay, and let it go. As I get to the cash register, she walks up to Tally, and says something. Don’t know what, don’t really care. I just want to pay for coffee I never drank, and leave. I wasn’t going to say anything about anything, because I really don’t care enough to tell him. I just wanted to pay for my coffee that I never touched, and leave. I approached, money in hand, to pay and Tally asks«What was the problem?» So I told him I sat there for over 20 minutes before a menu was delivered, and another 10 before the waitress showed up to take my order, then acted like she couldn’t hear me. «We serve thousands of people every day» and I’m sure they weren’t ignoring you” he said. That’s when it hit me as to why I quit treating myself to Sunday breakfast. It’s because the last time I went, it was to Tally’s and I had the exact same experience, except I waited it out, only to be served cold food. «Maybe they aren’t ignoring me, but I have gone through this same experience here, and your service sucks.» All said very calmly, yet honestly. Tally hands me my change, and wishes me well. A total of 45 minutes to be told that basically, single tables don’t matter, and to have a good day. All for the low cost of $ 2.50, and cold coffee I never drank.

The waitress was terrible. She took over 20 mins to take our order and she only had 4 tables. There were only 3 people in our group. I had to get up to get refills twice. She messed up the order. She never brought napkins even though we asked multiple times. She left our ticket on the table before our food was even delivered, so we didn’t bother ordering dessert. We ordered the pizza fries and combination platter appetizers. The pizza fries were okay. They would have been good if a better quality of French fry was used. The fried green tomatoes on the combo platter were burnt and disgusting. The fried mushrooms and cheese sticks were good. The okra was undercooked. The lettuce on the burgers and in the salad tasted like chemicals. The fried catfish was burnt. The fried chicken tenders were undercooked and the breading was doughy. The hash browns were far too crispy, almost burnt. The fried shrimp was overcooked. The sautéed mushrooms were gross. The owner was rude. Our ticket was over $ 60 and it was not worth it at all. We won’t be back.

Fairly certain this joint survives purely on the«old timey» kick. Food was average. Waitress started off fast and chipper, but by the time our food was on the table she was MIA. Had to ask for napkins multiple times because apparently even if you have a toddler, two napkins are«enough». My two year olds Mac n cheese was nearly frozen, with how cold it was. Our waitress put it in the microwave to «warm it up». Over all it was mediocre at best and I doubt we’ll be back. But if you enjoy seeing not/barely legal teenage girls run around in tiny shirts and shorts, this is the place for you.

Felt like I traveled back in time. Décor AND prices were behind. Came around 11 on a Sunday. There was no wait. They gave us two some a four person booth which turned out to be perfect given we had their special and homemade cinnamon roll. The whole bill came out to be under $ 20 and we were stuffed! Hopefully the special doesn’t change cause it’s potato hash, 2 eggs, sausage, bacon, AND pancakes. The pancakes were so fluffy. My husband usually wouldn’t finish one but he devoured his! Cinnamon roll was too sweet so I had to take off some of the glaze and spent 2 more days eating it.

Great breakfast… Awesome Cinnamon rolls. Cute or at least not too ugly girls wearing very tight tops. Most have had breast augmentations and it seems like a great idea to me. We stop here EVERY time we spend the night in T Town

It’s the Hooters of breakfast diners on Route 66! Requirements for waitresses include: 1. Neck tattoos. 2. Breasts(tattoo’d or not) must be bared as much as possible. 3. Smoker’s breath. If heavy-set, duties are relegated to that of hostess position and is allowed if not provoked, to cover up.

Love the breakfast. Pancakes are the best! Always good. Normally just get breakfast but chicken fried steak is pretty good and those rolls… forget about it.

Tally’s looks like it’s been there since the 50’s(although its no more than 12 – 15 years old), Its a typical diner that offers a little bit of everything. I like the chili size, a open face chili cheese burger with fries. You’ll love it but your doctor won’t! Fast service, great food, and a sense of yesteryear. Try Tally’s you’ll like it!

Lucky to get a parking place in front on Yale Ave, but plenty of parking in rear. Elbow to elbow at bar, all booths full. This was a great indicator of things to come! Breakfast, I had the 3X3X3: Three eggs. Over easy and done perfectly. Three sausage patties. Large and tasty. Three French toast. They could and should have been the meal! All three were delicious. Owner gave me a cinnamon roll or taking pictures. It is so Big The lid would not close. Service was unlimited. This is the real deal for breakfast on Route 66!

Classic diner breakfast fare served up by a bevy of eager friendly young waitresses. Large counter space, booths and tables. Food typical, interesting ambiance at this crowded and noisy popular haunt of locals. Food is cheap, fast and friendly. I’ll be back for classic American breakfast on the old«Route 66» diner.

Let me start by saying I’m not a big fan of the greasy spoon. I tent to stick to more«health conscious» eateries. But, on a recent weekend I was invited to breakfast at Tally’s and I’m happy I came. The food was great as was the service. I was VERY impressed with the talent working at Tally’s. It was a non-stop neck turning experience… That(awesome) fact aside, I really was impressed with the service. My cup of coffee was never empty and I never had to look around for a waitress. I would come back here anytime for a meal and it wouldn’t matter if it was breakfast, lunch or dinner. I was impress with their menu.

Tally’s is a great Tulsa diner. The menu selection is HUGE! And just about any type of fare is available: from breakfast to Greek to the BBQ from the on-site smoker… and it’s all good. It’s not haute cuisine here folks, but for diner food it is a great option. The pancakes are great but the only drawback to this place is they do not have real butter — big bummer to a foodie like myself. The service is usually friendly and quick and the prices are low. Each person will probably have 3 – 5 plates of food with each order: they are huge and come with lots of sides. This is the only restaurant I’ve been to where biscuits and gravy are considered a «vegetable»: D The entire menu is served all day, so loosen your belts and give this place a try. Best thing: variety Worst thing: sometimes service is amiss(occasionally)
