Really cute place, loved the rooftop area. The drinks are cheap, the staff is friendly and good with recommendations. As for the patrons, there is a weird mix of older creepsters, yuppies, twenty-something drunk girls and bitchy and/or weird couples. However, they all seemed friendly enough. The dancing downstairs(inside) was decent, good music. The pluses are: rooftop bar, staff and cheap drinks. Possible negatives: the patrons, but it was at Thursday night, maybe that is the wrong night to visit the Ivey and/or Brookside?

Drove from Dallas to a private party in Tulsa that was being held at Ivey. The party was scheduled from 7 – 10. I got there at 9:05. The folks at the door said everyone pays $ 20 after 9:00. I said I had been invited to a private party. The girls at the door pretended to run thru a book/list and said there was no private party on the list of events… in spite of the fact that I could see my buddies playing music in the private party room, and the birthday girl, and the catered food. They insisted that I had to pay $ 20. I did. I stayed 35 min. The band broke it down and my buddy asked me for some help to move some equipment to Hibiscus about a ½ block away. We went out the side gate and when I came back I was refused access. My buddy told the door guy I had indeed been inside already and that I had paid. I came back in and sat down. The door guy then comes up and says«I thought you were hauling gear?!» I said«I did already!» He said«Don’t USE your friends… don’t LIE about shit to get into the club!!» I told him I had never been to a less classy club in my life and that I was appalled at the lack of customer service and respect for the customer. Security starts circling me at this point… I go to the back bar and order a Shiner. They are out. I take it as a sign that I need to go elsewhere. They replace the gate/door person with some girls. The drummer tries to haul his gear out of the gate… the girls tell him that the gate cannot be opened, there’s a sensor on it that counts people. We had all just gotten back thru that gate. We all know from years of being in that facility that they are lying. It doesn’t matter to them. They make the drummer haul his gear around the long way thru the front door when his car is right in front. The culture there seems to enjoy some twisted sense of control and doing the wrong thing. It’s a very shallow place. If you are 21, plastic, and think the world revolves around you, and enjoy being done wrong as a customer, then I HIGHLY recommend this spot for you. Otherwise, if you are a person of substance I would avoid it like the plague.
