This restaurant was recommended highly by a client of mine and boy oh boy I was not disappointed. I did the pick two lunch and the potions were very generous. The waitress was kind and on point and the owner was equally attentive. I will absolutely be back.

Went to the restaurant to eat today because I heard the food was fantastic. Huge sign outside said they don’t close until 3 pm. Get there to eat at 2:25 and he’s already stopped serving because he’s catering a party later in the evening. After making a special trip to eat here, this does not sit well; therefore, I’m not recommending to anyone

Though listed under vegetarian, only 2 of their 10 sandwiches don’t contain meat. This is just another café.

I ate here with my parents for a noon time lunch on a Saturday. When we arrived shortly after noon, we were seated promptly. It’s a very unique set up – with a restaurant inside The Market. It stayed pretty quiet for about 20 or so minutes. Plus by about 1PM, it picked up. I ordered the Artichoke Sandwich with the fruit salad option. The fruit was fantastic. It had a nice selection of strawberries, grapes, mandarin oranges, and pineapple. I really appreciate when a fruit salad isn’t filled with melon filler. The sandwich was okay. I might not have read the menu closely — the chicken was kind of breaded/fried. I also didn’t feel like there was a significant amount of artichoke/artichoke-flavor on the sandwich. My mom got a side salad and the lobster bisque. She felt like it was a bit salty. I tried it – didn’t find it overwhelmingly salty, but missing lobster and lobster flavor. My dad had the egg salad sandwich and a bowl of the tomato basil soup. The egg salad was good — I’m picky about my egg salad, so I didn’t love it. The tomato basil soup though… that was the BEST thing I ate. My mom and I split a piece of the coconut cake. It was amazing! My dad couldn’t even resist it – and he HATES coconut. In all — good lunch spot. They have a really large menu which I sometimes find that restaurants have a couple more misses with so many items. Weird side note: the menu’s font is horrible and makes it really hard to read.

I truly recommend this restaurant — The Ripe Tomato. I’ve tasted the tomato soup, cranberry pecan salad, very berry salad, Santa Fe sandwich, Albuquerque sandwich, Chilada Wrap, Chicken Pesto Wrap and of course their desserts and all of them are so so good and are so flavorful.

A great place for a chatty lunch date with a friend. All of the food is so good and fresh. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I always get a salad and have never been disappointed. The ingredients seem fresh and well thought out. The desserts look divine as well. There isn’t too much seating so go early or late to miss the lunch crowd. Then you can browse the booths for fun gifts and trinkets.

This is a great place for lunch. I always have the chicken quesadillas and my wife has one of the many salads they offer. The guacamole appetizer is so different than any I’ve ever had but so delicious and very addictive. A reservation is a good idea as they get quite busy. The service has always been superb. It’s a nice place to take a friend for lunch.

If I could give 6 stars I would! This is my kind of food Salads, wraps, sandwiches, and dessert! The place is small so you should make a Reservation If you go during rush hours. There are only a few tables and it’s popular. It’s in the back part of The Market which is a gift shop of sorts. Lots of booths. The food is outstanding. There are so many salad choices everything from Southwest to fruit to beef to turkey. You can do a pick 2 and get ½ salad and ½ sandwich or ½ soup. Love the variety. The owner is very friendly and came by several times to make sure we had everything we need. Our server got too busy with a large group so he took care of us. Oh, the desserts are awesome. I meant to take a photo of my coconut cake but we dove in too fast!

It takes a LOT to make me not want to come back to a business. The Ripe Tomato has managed to accomplish this AND stress me out in the process. DONOT come here if you have a large party(don’t think they can handle more than 5 people). Granted, we were a large party(15) and that is always a challenge for any server BUT what we experienced here was beyond forgivable. The ladies from our church get together ONCE a month to eat lunch. For many of us it is our only outing and we take advantage of our little escape from work, from taking care of ill husbands, from the life routine… We never know exactly how many people will show up so we are unable to give a heads up to the restaurant we pick. This was never an issue until we came here. Instead of being glad for our business, they made us feel like we were a huge burden and nuisance and we should just do them a favor and go somewhere else. As ladies kept showing up to our group, extra chairs needed to be added to our tables. We didn’t mind scooching in together to fit more chairs(avoiding adding more tables) but at one point our waitress informed us that they had no more chairs. Really? How does this happen? Even if it did, I don’t care if they have to buy a chair from the market, just make it work people! Plus, why would she inform us this? To make us feel even more uncomfortable about it all? Somehow they ended up providing the chairs(why the need to stress us out?). Keep in mind that some of our more mature ladies should not stay standing up for long periods of time… Regardless…once we managed to have everyone sitting down, the ordering process was a mess. I ordered tomato soup and instead got cheese cubes and cherry tomatoes. I didn’t even complain because I at least had food in front of me. My friend next to me waited until we were almost all done for hers. This is not a big deal for me since we understand all orders weren’t placed at the same time and all of that… however…missing silverware, glasses of water, and napkins was also an issue. The ordeal did not end here. The waitress asked if the checks were going to be together or separate. We specifically said separate. When the ticket came. Yes, THE ticket. It was all together. Just one. Somehow she was not able to give us separate tickets. Someone please explain how this can be. I simply do not understand. We had to pass the ticket around to see what we each had ordered and calculate what we each had to pay. It was SO ridiculous I just started laughing. Most ladies felt forced to pay with cash to make things easier and a bartering process went on our tables(ladies exchanging bills among themselves to make things work). I rarely carry cash so I informed our waitress I would be paying with a card. She seemed pained when I told her and said she would ask her manager if it was possible because it was too complicated to do so. REALLY?! Well it was either that or not pay at all so they took my card. The food was mediocre, at least what I ordered. The Hawaiian sandwich. It was bland. The chocolate cake was dry… Apparently the triple play is popular and their tomato soup which I ordered but didn’t get. I echo what previous Unilocalers wrote… it’s more of a tea room and small space for 2. Has the potential to be cute but sadly my experience there was terrible. Oh and the kitchen area is open. one can see what goes on there. I could see the waitress’ stressed and pained face throughout all my lunch. Not the most enjoyable view.

I was not too pleased when my wife dragged me to an antique shop/mall, but little did I know that there would be a hidden gem inside the store! The ripe tomato is a quaint yet very satisfying restaurant. The service was very good and the food and portion size were perfect. I was pleasantly surprised and will be going back for more!
