DC Cab

Had a positive experience with driver, Rick, this afternoon. Called for a pick up and he arrived right on time, helped load my bags, made casual conversation, drove responsibly, and dropped me off at the Amtrak station with plenty of time to catch my train. The fare was also $ 2 cheaper than the $ 15 I was expecting to pay. I’d use this service again.

After a horrible taxi experience (read my Yellow Cab NW review) I decided to call DC Cab to take me back to my hotel. I called the dispatcher and gave her my information. The driver showed up earlier than the 10 minute estimate I was given and called my phone to let me know he arrived. He got me from the State Capitol to my hotel in about 5 minutes. Then he informed me that DC Cab is a locally family owned business and he was the owner of the company and felt that he should be out in the middle of the night to make sure that his customers was getting the service they deserved. That is truly outstanding. Some owners would just hire others to work late on a Saturday night while they sit at home or go out to spend the fruit of their labors. I was really impressed by his commitment to his company. Not only that, but the meter read $ 11.75 and he only charged us $ 10 because the trip wasn’t that long. The only thing I felt bad about was that I should have tipped him, but I made up for it by helping him get his business cards to the front desk and telling the hotel staff to use his company as a first option for taxi service in the area.
Thank you so much for the excellent customer service and safe driving experience. I will be coming back to Tumwater yearly for the masquerade ball and I will make sure I use your company every time because that is how I reward excellence.

Terrible, rude driver. I wouldn’t set foot in one of their cabs. Tailgated other drivers. Horrible personal hygiene. I don’t know if there are other options in Olympia, but walking might be safer and a better experience.
