I used to drive to this location before they opened in Tacoma. I loved both stores, but sadly it’s all come to an end. Both locations closed as of 6÷14÷14.

This store is a life saver! When i crave dinner rolls, french bread, pie, pasta, corn dogs, fish and chips. Almost anything you can want thats gluten free is in this nice little family owned store. The service is incredible, i’ve even been able to ask about certain items to see if they can get them, and a lot of the time they can. Everyone there is so friendly and know me by name. And they are constantly getting new products. I love never having to read a label when I shop here.

After getting lost on the way here and then again in the parking lot a little bit, I finally found the answer to all of my problems. Onion rings and chicken nuggets and doughnuts and bagels. Water crackers and lasagna and pie and good pizza. Burritos and brownies and soft pretzels and even Easy Mac. All in one place. I don’t have to cry alone in my room while all my friends eat cupcakes in the kitchen, anymore. It’s easy to get overexcited and drop a paycheck here because you’re like«Wow, I can have snacks again!» And you sort of just scoop everything off the shelves as you go by. Then again, all gluten-free is expensive. It’s just that until now, it’s only been available in a few spots in Trader Joe’s and in the tiny, hidden corners of the Co-op. I also enjoy the knowing glances of relief shared between fellow gluten-free shoppers. «Yes. Finally.»

I was less than thrilled my first few times here, but I have become a convert. Their staff have gotten much nicer(I especially love the elementary school teacher on the weekends! She is the sweetest! I called to see what time they closed, as I was on my way, and she offered to stay open late for me! I didn’t need it, but it was very sweet) and their selection has also improved. They still have items that are manufactured in factories that make gluten items, which I can’t do, but I understand that others can eat it. I still wish they had labeling that made it clear which were which. I do really like that they have some local breads that I had never heard of before and that are new favorites(Joe apparently drives around to bakeries in the Puget Sound to pick up the items and bring them their two stores). They had a pancake event a few weeks ago that I missed but sounded great. They opened a new store, bigger, in Tacoma that I hope to visit soon.

Place looked nice & clean. Didn’t need anything @ the time. Just wanted to check it out. Price, but you get what you pay for.

GF Joes is great. The staff are friendly and they have a variety of products. Sure, some of the prices are a little higher than chain grocery stores but I believe in supporting local businesses.
