Hampton Inn

This was a super nice place. The pool is indoor and heated. Breakfast was scrambled eggs, fresh fruit, oatmeal, yogurt, bagels, muffin, smoked sausage, juices. The bed and linens were fresh. Plenty of room to keep suitcase. Laundry area provided Vending area by the front desk. Air conditioner kicked butt and kept the room super cold how we like. Huge full length mirror on the closet door. The shower was clean. If stay again.

I tend to stick with the Hilton brands, but I am also very budget conscious. When I am in Tupelo, I compare the price of this hotel and another Hilton brand hotel in the area. On this particular trip, the Hampton Inn won the price comparison. The hotel has an interesting setup. Seems to be an outdoor only hotel that was renovated/​upgraded to add the addition of rooms that are indoors only. If you want a room that the door goes directly to the outside, this is your place/​it’s an option. If you want a room that the door goes to a common hallway in a building, this is your place/​it’s an option. I feel more comfortable in a hotel room that is within a building. Any time I have checked in and they have given me an outside room, the hotel staff is always accommodating to change my room. My only complaint is that the gym is very small and sparse; it only has cardio machines and it does not have free weights (only medicine balls). Staff is always friendly and accommodating. Overall, this is a standard Hampton Inn: comfy, clean, and reasonably priced.

Even though this particular Hampton Inn is older, it’s well maintained and nice, especially for this area. There’s nothing new and shiny in the Tupelo area, so this hotel stands out. It’s in the perfect location, between 78, downtown and right off the Natchez Trace Parkway. The staff was super helpful and breakfast was great. I highly recommend this hotel. The only reason this hotel didn’t get all 5 stars from me is because it’s part interior, part exterior rooms, almost like the hotel side of things was an add-​on. We were in an exterior facing room, meaning that all the smoke from folks standing right outside their doors could definitely creep in through the air conditioning and be detected. Otherwise, it was perfect!

It should be noted that this property is part motel. If you require an inside room just let them know– they are very accommodating. The outer rooms are really easy to get in and out of though. Hot, fresh breakfast. Friendly front desk.
