Well it’s been over a year since I reviewed my favorite fast food BBQ joint! Even though it’s slipping in cleanliness the food is still spot on! Ribs — check BBQ beans — check Cole Slaw — check Onion Tanglers — check Iced Tea — check Soft Serve — check Any questions? Oh and a tip for my ‘extra hungry’ fellow real smoked BBQ rib lovers: if you order a 3 meat plate and specify ‘ribs’ you get a half rack plus two sides! Bonus!

Super expensive and the food sucks. Only thing good is the loaded potatoes and chicken. Other than that, don’t waste your money

This Dickey’s BBQ is the best! They helped us yesterday when a well-known catering company bailed out on us at the last minute! We called the Manager and she quickly brought us all our food for 30pp in 1 hour! I want to thank her and all her employees for helping us when we could not get anyone to bring us food at the last minute. We are going to keep using Dickey’s for all our office functions. Our office thanks you and your staff for a A-1 Job!

The food was not that great tasting. It’s more like a fast food bbq place its better if you go somewhere authentic. But the food still tasted okay.

Just left this place. If I could rate zero stars, I would. Ordered pulled pork and brisket. This food should not be called BBQ. Just because you try to trick people with your fake BBQ scent and taste. Both meats were dry and cold as hell. My brisket was mostly fat. Threw it all away. Paid $ 38 for 1 meat plate, 2 meat plate and a kids meal which should have been free because it was Sunday. I didn’t realize this until I was dumping my food. Waited at the counter so I could speak to someone but no one came after 5 min. I left. Total waste of money.

Dickey’s food is delicious, no doubt about that. We have ordered here several times for company lunches and although we had several missing items the first couple of times we ordered from them, the most recent orders from them have come with everything we ordered and more. Also, they have come to deliver food that was missed on an order they didn’t fill correctly. The only downside is that even if you order in advance you are likely to have to wait an extra fifteen minutes around lunch time from your scheduled time because it is always so busy then!

Yay! I’m a fan… of the food, the service, not so much. Let me go back a bit. Last month I had my sister and her kids over for dinner to celebrate her birthday. My sister had heard good things about Dickey’s and said she wanted to try it. We assured her it would be yummy!(We usually get take-out a couple times a month) We got online, ordered an XL Family Pack and the hubby went to pick it up. Hubby picked up the food with no problems and brought it home to the hungry tribe. Ribs, pulled pork, mac n cheese, fried okra(I converted my nephew!), and potato salad… all yummy! But wait! Where are the rolls? I gotta have my rolls to make my own special little sliders. Alas, the rolls were not to be found!(the horror!) I called Dickey’s, explained the situation and the young man that answered the phone asked for my name and number.(we don’t live nearby, otherwise I would have gone back down there) He said the next time I came in, just give my name and number and Dickey’s would give me the 8 rolls I should have received AND two sides of my choosing, FREE!(nice, or so I thought). This evening my son went to pick-up an order for the family and I told him, hey, just give them my name and number and get the rolls and extra sides. My son was told he would need the receipt from the order that Dickey’s failed to fill correctly. Really? That little piece of the equation was never mentioned. Dickey’s had the chance to make their wrong, a right and at the same time keep customers happy and coming back, because that’s what it’s all about, right? Now I have a bad taste in my mouth, and I’m not sure I’ll go back. All over eight rolls and two sides… Dickey’s, you can do better than that!

I have been to several locations always consistent in taste and quality. A bit pricey to visit on a regular basis.

There is no good BBQ in the Stanislaus county area. I know Fresno(Westwoods & dog house), Los Baños(Hot City BBQ), Tracy(Famous Daves), Sacramento(Tank House &2 more spots 1 in Roseville) these places are a few good places that use true Smoker BBQ pits.

How in the world this place gets 3 stars is beyond me. Last time I was there, their sides were straight out of a can! Another thing is, it is beyond me how this place ever became a chain with food like that!!! Went there once and maybe in the future will give it a chance one more time!!!

I’ve eaten at other locations for the last 7 years. We love Dickies, but the Turlock location is absolutely horrendous. The food is lacking flavor and thrown in a box. Portions are literally half the size given at other locations. The staff is courteous, but lack desire to put out a good product. We’ve tried this place twice now in about a six month span and if may have gotten even worse than when they first opened! Do not go during dinner rush, you’ll end up angry.

We went to Dickey’s for lunch again. This was maybe my sixth visit? Some aspects of my visit were better, one aspect was worse. I ordered the Deal of the Day, which is still the most bang for your buck. I received pretty big portions of both Polish sausage and pulled pork. I also got a scoop of mac & cheese for my first side. For my second side, I received a huge helping of fresh & hot onion tanglers. I had to take the leftovers home. The food was good, but not OMG good. The scoop of mac & cheese was more like a congealed blob of mac and cheese. If you remember the SAT, here is a simile for you: Chipotle: Mexican food Dickey’s: Barbecue Now for the not so good part of my visit. I don’t know if the staff was having an off day or if they were understaffed during the lunch rush, but today the line moved glacially slow. Slow is only supposed to be how you cook the meat.

As close to Texas Brisket as I can get in California. Dickey’s is a chain throughout Texas — great for catering as they deliver. I use to use them all the time for meetings when I lived in Texas. This location is super nice. Apx 1.5hrs from where we live now but I manage to visit about 2x a month. This Native Texan misses her brisket…

I love this place. The food is great, the prices are right and they give awesome customer service. I like that you can bring in your big yellow cup and your drink is only 99 cents. They have amazing pulled pork and I love their waffle fries. My wife loves the free soft ice cream. They also have a frequent guest card so don’t forget to ask for it. Great place, great food, clean restaurant and great prices.

This place is good but nothing special. We had a coupon for buy one sandwich and get one free but still had to buy two drinks and our meal was still over $ 12. What the point of me telling you this is I’m saying you really over pay for something not amazing. The meat is normal and it only tastes good with the sauce. The sandwich itself is really small. They only have one size option for the drink. You do however get a free ice cream with your meal which doesn’t feel like it’s free because you paid so much to start with. If come back I’m craving a steak sandwich but simply because there is no other place close by that does.

I like bbq, but this place has some dry meat, i got the ribs combo and my ribs were dry, NASTY! Plus they close the doors 10 minutes before closing time, that’s not right, some people showed up few minutes before closing time and they refused to serve them!

Overpriced — this place is just plain overpriced. Starting with the positive, the pulled pork is great, the brisket is good and so is the baked potato casserole. We ordered the«Picnic Pack» for 2 – 4 for takeout. The meat quantity was ok. The sides though — check out the picture. Super tiny containers, like 2“x4″ and not filled. Their rolls are great but small so we ordered extra. We got home, no sauce and no rolls even after my wife repeatedly asked«you got the extra rolls right» and was told yes. We drove back and she got the rolls, sauce and a sorry. Even fast food places will throw in a freebie for mistakes made — a free sandwich, side or a small gift card. It’s just polite. When you pay higher prices you expect better service recovery than what we got from Dickey’s. Bottom line — tastes good, priced high, check take out orders before you leave. Or just go to Texas Road house — man they’re great!

First time to try this place. Menu is very confusing. We never could figure it out so we just told them what we wanted. Food was just okay but very pricey. Wife had pulled pork — meat plate. Meat had lot of burned/charred pieces that were just not edible. My pulled pork sandwich was fine, but nothing to rave about. The potato salad was strange, and I personally didn’t like it. Beans are passable. We wanted to eat in. There were some very pesky flys, and the country music was just way too load so we could not talk to each other. Might try takeout for ribs sometime but will never try to eat there again. The staff was friendly and efficient.

I got invited to the VIP pre-opening for this location. So did a couple hundred others apparently. There was a huge crowd, but that’s not surprising when you’re giving away free food. I ordered the 3 Meat plate. I had brisket, pulled pork and ham. The pulled pork was amazingly soft and delicate. I really enjoyed it. The brisket was soft, but bordered on getting a little chewy. The ham was tasty, but salty. As for the sides, the roll was good. However, the potato salad had a funky almost rancid taste and the Mac n’ cheese was sub par. In the end, the pulled pork was the only thing that impressed and had the food not been free, I would’ve felt thoroughly ripped off. There is no way that I would ever pay $ 13 for the portion or quality I received. I don’t see this place succeeding based on their prices, but who knows… I’ve seen a lot of people spend a lot of money on things that just don’t seem worth it.(I’m looking at you people who wear grills on your teeth!)
