The service was fine, the food was not. The food tasted old. I almost cracked my tooth on the hard rice. The selection was not what I was expecting. I wish it was better.

I am a huge fan of Indian food and unfortunately there aren’t a ton of Indian restaurants in the area. I usually go to the one in ceres which I love, but after reading the rave reviews for Nagina Palace we decided to give it a try. We ordered the shrimp and butter lettuce salad and the buffet. The buffet food was bland and terrible. Several dishes tasted like rancid fat, and even the butter chicken was horrible. It tasted like if chef boyardee made canned indian food. The shrimp salad was just the same cheap veggies from the buffet with the addition of 6 overcooked shrimp. So essentially we paid the additional ten bucks for six shrimp. We will NEVER return here. I wish I hadn’t come at all.

We really want to like this place but it’s just not that great. Our most recent visit on June 4 we ordered the chicken sampler, did not enjoy the flavors of 2 out of the 3 options. Also ordered the chicken curry, was very bland. The keema naan and almost no lamb and the cauliflower and potatoes wasn’t great either. The veggie samosas were delicious, and the chickpea sauce that came with it, very flavorful. Garlic naan and chai was also tasty.

The food was mediocre and the service could have been a little bit better. The location and layout is a lot nicer than other Turlock Indian restaurants but I thought that the flavor wasn’t as good in their dishes as with the other options we have.

I arrived about 10 minutes after opening for the lunch buffet on a weekday. There were already 2 tables eating. I got my plate and noticed most of the items had just a little bit of food left. I thought this was weird but went on to make my plate. The food was borderline acceptable. But I was really hungry and on my lunch break and didn’t have time to go somewhere else so I ate it. As I was leaving, I walked past the buffet and saw they had added a ton more food to each selection. I then realized that they must have put out leftovers from the day before for the start of buffet hours, and then cooked up fresh food and then put that out. I was really disappointed and kinda grossed out. I may try it again, but more towards the middle of the buffet time to avoid that happening again.

I went with a group of friends to the Nagina Palace buffet for lunch. I never worry about taking vegetarians to their buffet, they will always find plenty of different things to eat. Not much has changed, which was a good thing. You can start with either white rice, or spiced rice mixed with vegetables. It reminded me of Spanish rice with an Indian twist. There was bread pakora and vegetarian samosas if you like fried things. And I do. The samosa tasted good on the inside, but it seemed to me that the outside coating was too salty. The bread pakora was just okay. Their pakora has been much better when I ordered it off the menu. After that, you could select from saag paneer, butter chicken, chili fish, and tandoori chicken. One of my friends and I were both drawn to the curry goat. We loaded up our plates with it. The goat was bony, but still very meaty. I didn’t have to nibble around the bones for meat because it fell off easily. The goat was rather tasty. The garlic naan was excellent. Hot and crispy, and we could taste the garlic. I went back to the buffet for seconds and thirds. By the time we were done, my friend and I had cleaned out the tray of goat curry. I was too full for any of the fresh fruit I saw for dessert.

Venue is such a nice place but they could make it so much better by spending a bit more on chairs, table and the layout. Very hilariously creepy statues in the front entrance. Food was delicious but because I am an avid Indian food eater, I was not mind blowing. Very filling, good spice, lots of variety. Service was not too good, the lady that took our order did not look very happy and wasn’t that friendly. Not very welcoming, it seemed like she didn’t want to be there. Food was brought out to us very quickly which was good. Overall good but because it didn’t feel very welcoming at all, it made the experience less enjoyable.

I’ve been craving Indian food and after reading all the positive Unilocal,I stopped in while I had done time to kill in Turlock today… I am so glad I did!!! I’m not a fan of buffets, but there’s was satisfyingly delicious!!! Plus they started right off by bringing me a fresh order of garlic naan… So good. The buffet included chicken tikka masala, tandoori chicken, a tummy okra dish and another just as yummy garbanzo bean dish, there were also lentils and spinach curries and a variety of pakora fritters, all delicious! I can’t wait to go again!!! Oh ya and the décor is an added treat, it’s really a hidden gem!!!

Found this place on Unilocal otherwise I would have never known it was there. Ther service is top notch and very welcoming. You can tell it’s run by a family who takes pride in what they do. The food was awesome! I love Indian food and eat it at least 1 – 2 times a month. This place has to be one of the best outside of the Bay Area. The tandoori chicken, fish pakora, veggie simosa, chicken masalla were all amazing!!! Highly recommend them to everyone!

My family and I love Indian food. We usually eat at an Indian restaurant 3 – 4 times a month and have tried different restaurants across the Valley and the Bay Area. This restaurant is great! Samosas are a perfect blend of spices and not too much potatoes, butter curry and CTM were very creamy and tasty. The goat curry was perfect without the aftertaste that goat usually have when not cooked well. To top it off, staff was very polite and kind. We didn’t mind the wait for our food since everything we ordered was great!

Solid lunch buffet with a lot of choices, most of which were vegetarian. Lunch prices were extremely reasonable. They even have 99 cent Bud Light on tap all day everyday! The atmosphere is nice — quiet, clean, classy. We definitely plan on returning to try their dinner service.

This review is for a take out order. First of all there is no menu online to speak of so good luck with that. So we walked in and asked to see a menu. I eat indian often but am not from Turlock so I don’t have anything to compare it to. All I know is that the menu lacked options. Things were described poorly. There was no Qorma om the menu but apparently they offer it. There was no sag paneer on the menu but apparently they offer that too. The chicken tikka masala was on the last page by itself. They had a page and a half of appetizers and less than two pages of entrees… Uhhhh weird. So I asked if the entrees came w rice. I was told no, everything comes separate. My boyfriend who has eaten here before told me I was wrong so when he asked they said ohhh noooooo the rice is complimentary! Fast forward to a 70 dollar order. We get home. For 5 entrees there was one serving of rice. Stingy much!!! The food did have good flavor, the sag paneer looked disgusting but was probably one of my favorite things. The potato samosas were ridiculously spicy. I would go here again but only because of the limited options.

I love the food here! Always fresh and tasty. Plain or garlic naan bread to choose from right away. It comes out fresh hot and soft. I really like the mint and tamarind chutneys at the salad bar. The tandoori chicken is always great along with the curry types of meat selections. Plain and flavored rice also.

The ownership has changed here and so has the service. The last few times I have been here the service and food was all wonderful. This is the only place I’ll go to for Indian food in Turlock.

I truly love this place. It’s my first visit and definitely not my last! The place is decorated well. The service is friendly and on point. But the food! I had the Chicken Makhani and my husband had the Lamb Makhani. It was just to good. We will be back with friends. They have catering as well for very reasonable prices.

The food is great… buffet from 11 – 3 and they’ll change the menu everyday. $ 8.60 is a great price for the food they have. Come here everytime I’m working in the area.
