Just like the ones back home. My mom them use to get the pasteles in Hayward and was saddened when they were not there anymore. Until my nieces new husband whom is Puerto Rican and I asked his family makes pasteles and she hands me this card and I give it to my mom. And she’s like I think these are the same people from Hayward and somehow my grandpas brothers wife is related to them anyway long story short same people small world lol! I ordered 6 dozen and they actually have pick ups in union city every 3rd Sunday of each month. You can freeze them and they have directions on how to reheat. And it taste so good too!

***Restaurant CLOSED***my brother picked up a few dozen pasteles about a year ago and they were great. Since then I’ve made 3 trips to try to get my own dozen. The first time google maps gave me the wrong location and I ended up at a house. When I realized I was at the wrong location I called the store/restaraunt and they were closed for that week. Drove 30 minutes for nothing. The second trip was on a Saturday between 2 and 3pm-restaurant was closed with a sign that said call for help. When I called, the guy said he was at church. Drove 30 for nothing. Third trip– another Saturday, I call ahead of time, leave a message but don’t hear back so I drive there. The place is empty, close down. Last time I drive 30 minutes for nothing. When you call the voicemail says Pasteles order line, so I assume you can order and pick up at ??? However I am not certain as no one ever called me back. :(I’m really bummed. For now, I just get a pastel every now and then from a PR mobile food truck in the Bay(BorinquenSOUL Food Truck). They never disappoint.

They’re open on the weekends. Food is so good reminds me of being back home in Hawaii. I live Manteca and never knew about this place. It was well worth the drive… Winnahz

So glad they now have a restaurant! The hours are 11 – 7 and open on Saturdays too. Love the pastelle and empanadillas! I drive 30 minutes just to eat here. Sooo yummy! The only con is that it is in an old part of turlock.

I finally found you again. I was broken hearted when the Hayward store closed down. My sisters picked me up some empanadilla’s and pastele’s for me and what a treat. I love their food and will drive from Salinas to the other valley soon to visit and pick up more. They are so delicious that I’ve eaten some everyday. I look forward to seeing the Owners again after so long. I love everything they make. We look forward to seeing you on Sundays

I have been frequenting The Pastele Factory for the past 20 years, ever since their restaurant first opened in Hayward. I am originally from Hayward which made this one of my favorite eating establishments in town. They unfortunately closed the restaurant but I kept tabs on them over the years and still continue to purchase their delicious pork pasteles. They are now in Turlock selling pasteles and other Puerto Rican favorites as a frozen to go business, perfect for me since I now live in Tracy. The owners Cindy and her mom Myra are wonderful people, really friendly and pleasant to visit with. It is well worth the drive to Turlock to try their products, simply delicious! I’m hoping to one day see them in a restaurant setting again as all the food they serve is the bomb. Thank you, Pastele Factory, for keeping my taste buds happy and satisfied. Try them for yourself and see what I mean!

I drove from Hollister to the Pastele Factory to pick up 4 dozen pork pasteles. I had also special ordered two dozen pork alcapurrias. I was also given, as a gift, some pork empanadillas. I left very happy and drove home. I got home and made some arroz amarillo with the pasteles, alcapurrias and empanadillas. It was absolutely delicious. My cousin commented on how the alcapurrias were rectangular shaped and I mentioned to her that they fit better in the cooler on the way home and also cook easier in low oil in the frying pan. I’m Boriken Taino living in California far away from any cuchifrito. The Pastele Factory offers excellent quality with a taste that must be derived from absolutely fresh ingredients. I just finished dinner and I am already planning tomorrows lunch which will include another pastele and alcapurria the the last two empanadillas. Next time I will order some more of those too. Really delicious food that is easy to transport, easy to store in the freezer and easy to prepare alongside whatever else you are cooking. The whole meal for two took about a 45 minutes from the cooler to the table. I would give six stars but Unilocal only lets me choose 5. Thank you for the delicious food, you will see me again. Nova…

Yum! Just went to the Pastele Factory in Turlock. Had a delightful time visiting with the owners. They used to have a restaurant in the Bay area but now, they have graced Turlock with their wonderful presence! They sell only frozen Pasteles(in essence, meat pies, NOT Mexican pastries) and they are delicious! I have just enjoyed a delish Empanadilla and bought two more different varieties to try later this week. Please visit these awesome ladies and spread the word about The Pastele Factory now in Turlock! People from all over the globe have them ship their yummy goodness for top dollar, and if you live anywhere near the Central Valley, we have them right here in our own backyard! Only 2.50– $ 2.75 each, and even less if you buy by the dozen! Bring one home and enjoy with an ice cold beer, and savor the flavor of The Pastele Factory!
