Everyone says their Dentist is the sh*t. I’m no different. I’ve been seeing Dr. Hollis since I was 11 years old (I’m 34 now). I’ve had a considerable amount of dental «issues.» Dr. Hollis ALWAYS come through. I knew if my teeth were «tanked «Dr Hollis could still do .the job. He always has. I’ve known the Doctor for almost my entire life, and he is a truly gifted Dentist. Top of his class, the big Kahuna, or the bees knees, or whatever! In all seriousness, every time I was out of state or out of the country Dr. Hollis had to un-​screw the shabby job.

I have recently read some Unilocal re; ppl going to local dentists and being pressured to undergo «deep cleaning» for several hundred dollars.
I just had my latest twice yearly cleaning/​check-​up and inquired about the need of deep cleaning. Yep it is pretty much a scam, and is rarely, if ever needed unless you are older and haven’t been to the dentist in many years.
Marilyn, my hygienist does a deep cleaning type process as her normal procedure. An actual deep cleaning usually takes about an hour, Marilyn spends around 30 minutes, and definitely digs and scrapes under and around the gums. Not just a polish and out in 15 minutes as I have had in the past. This lady works it!
My insurance covers 100% of the cleanings, but as a service to my fellow Unilocalers I inquired what the cost is w/​o. Only $ 87. I have been going here for years and love Dr. Hollis and his staff (see my original Unilocal). I remember in the past that when I went to a dentist for the 1^st time they always took x-​rays, not sure if that would be the case if you just wanted a cleaning, but it is probably a good idea anyway.
Give them a call and ask them any pertinent questions and tell them Dan H referred you, as I have referred many others. They have other hygienists’ but I recommend requesting Marilyn. I think you’ll enjoy your experience with these nice ppl, well at least as much as one can «enjoy» a trip to the dentist.

I LOVE Dr. Hollis. He is seriously the best dentist in the world. I am convinced. I have been going to him since I have had teeth and he does the most amazing, pain free dentistry. I highly recommend him as a family dentist, they even have a «treasure chest» for kids to pick out a few cheapy toys when they leave. He has seen me through many cavities and wisdom teeth extraction, all of which have been relatively pleasant experiences. All of the hygienists are very friendly and do a great job. I miss Dr. Hollis, but I’m grown up and live 400 miles away, so it’s time I find a new dentist… I’m afraid he can never be replaced, though, and I am now forever doomed to share in the oral pain caused by getting cavities drilled. Eeks.
