I came here for dinner on Friday night and my experience was really great because of the service provided by Brandon. He went out of his way to keep me comfortable and provide excellent customer service — he went above and beyond to get me an additional order from the front and I thought I was going to be able to sign the receipt and leave him a tip, but there was no place for it on the receipt so this was my only recourse! It def didn’t feel like I was in a chain restaurant –although i go to pei wei because it makes counting calories easy and the food is always healthy and good — but this great service made my night and made me feel as if I was dining at one of the upscale restaurants at the district! I will be back.

Amazing customer service. Did a call in order here for dinner and the service was fast, fun, and friendly. Also, the cashier ended up giving me extra fortune cookies! The food quality was great too. They have many vegetarian options and gluten free options as well! Super healthy and perfect for people who want to eat clean. Loved it!

Ordered dinner online on a Saturday night. I knew it would be busy and that it would take a little longer to get my food items, but I was in the area and showed up about 10 minutes before my pick up time. They messed up my order and I didn’t receive my food until 15 minutes past my pick up time since they had to remake it, yet they provided me with a $ 10 gift card for my wait. I was impressed with how kind they were and accommodating to me waiting. I will definitely be back in the future!

I dont understand why I always crave Pei Wei. I am usually not satisfied with my food, but I always want to go there. I stopped in Saturday, and noticed there were some new items on the menu, including sushi. I decided I had to try some, so I got the 4 piece kung pow roll. I wanted noodles, so I also got the Lo Mien with Chicken. The cashier asked me if I wanted the bowl or plate, basically small or large portion. I couldnt make up my mind, because I was pretty hungry, so she showed me both sizes… and I decided to go with the small since I was also trying the roll. There was a constantly screaming child inside the restaurant so I chose to go sit outside and eat on the patio. There is every single option for any kind of drink you could want at the fountains. When my roll came out, I got the whiff of fish… so that made me a little nervous. The roll was ok, nothing really special and didnt have a lot of flavor to me. The chicken lo mien was pretty good, better than a lot of things I have had previously. Im still not sold on this place like I used to be… I used to eat here once a week, years ago… Im not sure if something changed or just my tastes did. Hopefully I am able to fight my craving the next time it hits!

In the past 6 months this location has deteriorated in terms of food quality and taste. Last lunch I ordered the Mongolian steak and it was saturated in caramel sauce and was a very small serving — seems they include sauce weight in serving size. Besides the portion issue I had some serious intestinal distress the rest of the day — my colleague who joined me for lunch reported the same. PeiWei is off my lunch rotation — be warned.

My go to lunch place whenever I’m back in OC! This particular location is always busy during lunch time, but you can order your food online, select the time you want it ready and then go pick it up(hence avoiding the hour long line to order). The food here is always fresh, hot and you can tell it has just come piping hot out of the wok. The flavors are always so good I never need to add any more salt or soya sauce or even Sriracha! The best thing is if you’re looking for a healthier lunch option you can opt for brown rice, a small portion and have your food«slurried» where they will cook it in water instead of oil… amazing! My favorite combos are the Mongolian chicken and the Caramel with tofu and veggies! I admit, I also steal some extra fortune cookies to take home with me, which they keep in a jar in the back. :) Overall, a clean location with plenty of seating and a friendly staff. Lunch time is busy and parking is a hassle so plan accordingly and keep some extra time for getting out of the complex because it’s not the easiest. Other than that take advantage of ordering online and getting your food«slurried» for a healthier meal!

Pei Wei(pronounced pay way) is a chinese restaurant very much like panda express, except every dish they cook individually. We ord r red four seperate dishes, and we shared between us. The freshness of the food and vegetables is outstanding. The flavor is so good, it does not have a heavy salt taste, or msg. I did not even have to add teriyaki sauce because the flavor was so good. The seating inside is spacious, with quite a few tables. If we are down in irvine again i would not hesitate to go back

My first time at Pei Wei! I wasn’t sure if it was sit-down or to-go, but there were screens with the menu viewable from the line. I ordered the Mongolian chicken and brown rice. I also added on cruncy spicy tuna rolls. It happened to be a cold day in Irvine and the warming Mongolian sauce on the chicken was perfect. The food isn’t very spicy, so feel free to use their chili sauce or soy sauce they provide on the mantles of the restaurant. There is an option to take out orders or sit in the dining area. Seating seems to be pushing maximum capacity during lunch, so come on an off hour or early to get a seat/parking. If you dine in the restaurant, you’ll get a number and a waiter will deliver your food. Wasn’t a fan of the spicy tuna rolls(I prefer my spicy tuna mix to be more spicy), but the ambiance and warm entrées are great!

I’ve only been to Pei Wei a few times over the years, and always because a coworker dragged me here. It had been several years since my last visit and upon reading the menu this time, I thought«hmmm, these descriptions actually sounds pretty good!» I see the busy stove with authentic black bottomed woks and I hear the whoosh of gas creating foot high furious flames and I hear the sounds of utensils clanging against the woks mixing meats and veggies. It all looks and sounds promising until, well, your plate is set in front of you. My regular sized order of Thai Dynamite chicken(sriracha chile soy sauce, fresh lime, scallions, red bell peppers, carrots and Thai basil) with lettuce cups ran just under $ 10. The portion size was barely adequate(I’d hate to see what the Small portion looks like) and the food was lukewarm at best after a 10 minute drive back to the office. I couldn’t detect any spiciness in this dish whatsoever so it’s pretty laughable to call it «Dynamite» chicken. My coworker kept on reminding me «don’t complain because it’s free!»(«thanks» to her gift card). My coworker has pretty low standards and even she said she wouldn’t go back if not for the fact that she still has credit left on the gift card(she’s probably cursing whoever gave her this«gift»). Now I wouldn’t say the food and flavors were unpleasant. It’s acceptable if the expectation is non-authentic Asian food that all kind of tastes the same. Please just don’t ever say«OMG, I luuuuuv Asian food! Let’s go to Pei Wei!» Based on the busy lunch hour, Pei Wei has a faithful following of customers that enjoy this bland, Asian inspired food. By the way, Oriental Seafood House a few miles away has much better lunch specials that are tons more flavorful, less expensive, AND larger portions.

Came in for a quick lunch a while back, and for what seems to be a chain restaurant? I was pleased with my experience. Parking is already a bitch, and I was bobtailing a rig, so even harder to find 3 spots to take up.(Yes, I know I’m obnoxious.) Came in and waited in line for a few minutes. The sign they have there explains how you order: Pick a meat, a sauce, and a side or whatnot. I chose Shrimp, Kung-Pao, and white rice. I added Thai Wonton soup, and an Iced Tea. Not only is parking a bitch, but finding a seat is just as bad. At least during rush hour it was. I scoped some people getting ready to leave, so I stood by them for a second and waited for them to leave. Then I took the 2-seater booth for myself. Got my food, then realized that an older Woman was standing around my area perplexed, looking for a place to sit with her Daughter. I offered to give up my seat for them, but the Daughter declined. So I offered the Mother the other seat at least until her Daughter found a seat for both of them. The Mother seemed exhausted. She sat with me for just a few minutes, then went and had lunch with her Daughter. So, onto the food! The Shrimp was good quality, tasty shrimp. Cooked well, but with a little crunch. The Kung-Pao didn’t have the heat I craved, but it had great flavor. One of the employees offered to get me some Sriracha Chili sauce to help it along. A few spoonfuls was all it took. Good stuff, much better than any strip-mall Chinese Kung-Pao. The White Rice was, white rice. But stickier than most, which I like The Thai Wonton Soup was good, just a tad bland. I was hoping for more lemongrass flavor. The mushrooms were tasty though. I added some rice to it for texture. The Iced Tea was very good, don’t know if it was processed or fresh, but I liked it a lot! Not in this area too often, and I hate crowds; especially crowds of yuppies, but I would return if given the chance!

I like this place, it’s a good place to get a quick bite, the food comes out really fast and it is freshly made. I got a cup of hot and sour soup such was pretty good and the Mongolian beef with fried rice. The Mongolian beef was really good and not too sweet like other places. I got the vege spring rolls also but I was not a big fan of those. I will be back here whenever I’m craving some Chinese food.

First time here and I’m pretty impressed. We ordered a small entrée and a roll each so we got to try their limited time only Kung Pao Shrimp roll. It had a lot more flavor than I thought it would but there were too much peanuts in there, same for the Kung Pao chicken I ordered with my entrée. We also got the Thai Paradise chicken and a Mango California Roll. I will definitely come back next time.

Just went in this evening for a take out order. I’ve had Pei Wei a few times in the past, but it has been a long time since… and I’m glad it was just as I remembered. As far as Chinese fast food goes, I would say Panda Express is Old Navy, and Pei Wei is the Gap. You could say P.F. Changs is Banana Republic, but I’ve never been a fan of them, although I am of Banana. But I digress. The real reason I write this review is to thank Fernando for being so friendly and helpful to me at take-out. He was also helping the dine-in guests. I felt that he was interactive and kind, and sometimes as customers we are too«hangry» to notice the people who are working hard, and keeping a smile while doing so to assist us. Just wanted to express my appreciation for this kind gentleman, and the fortune cookies he included in my order. Thank you, Fernando! :)

This place has really mediocre«Asian» food. They let you choose your choice of protein, sauce, and preparation method, and it comes together to be something like… meat and veggies, with some sort of asian flavor, over a bed of rice, in a large or medium size. I had the Dynamite Steamed Chicken, and I don’t really know what else to say about it, besides that it was sort of asian tasting, sort of bland, and sort of boring. I don’t think I’ll be back here unless dragged out by someone else, which will probably happen.

Mediocre Asian fusion restaurant. The dishes are inexpensive but lack pizazz and color. They taste OK but the flavors are not that exciting. I could probably make the same or better at home. My mom ordered her dish with less rice and MORE veggies(and paid extra $$ for it) but their«extra» veggies was like 3 snow peas, a few carrot slices and a few more broccoli for the entire dish… too skimpy! I tasted her dish and it was also quite salty — too much sauce! My thai chicken wrap was meh. It was juicy and somewhat flavorful, but just seemed kind of grayish in color to me. They could have added a bit more colorful veggies to make it more visually appetizing.

I am writing this two days later so I had time to reflect. –I ordered to-go, in person, right when they opened at 11am. –I was told that it was a 30 minute wait for take-out. –Why? How? You just opened. –Well, we have a lot of catering and office orders to do. I stopped asking questions and just ordered my food to-go. I went to the nearby Whole Paycheck and Ulta. I came back 30 minutes later and my order was still not ready. The lady behind the counter was as gracious as she could be, but come on! Here is where the 1 star plays in: –I ordered a Pei Wei salad with a Lime vinaigrette. It says on the menu that it has chicken. No pollo. No flavor. Dry and wilted. Into the trash it went. –I also received two orders that weren’t mine. So getting home and hungry, having had to wait, and food was all wrong? It all went into the trash. I actually like to save food and try to reinvent it. But this was a huge No! Pei-Wei. I’ve been to you twice. First time was fine. Second one was a killer. Get it together.

They recently completely changed the menu here and it is fantastic! I had the chicken with veggies and fried brown rice bowl and it was the best. Chicken so moist and tender – never had better in any Asian restaurant. Much better than the old menu that was around for more than 14 years. I stopped going to Pei Wei a year or more ago, it was so mediocre. Definitely coming back. They also have Gluten Free, and steamed low sodium options.

Best of all the«fast food» Asian restaurants. I say fast food because it’s quick, but they make it fresh to order. The food is excellent. My favorite is the Mongolian Beef, which I get with no mushrooms. If I remember, I ask them to cook extra sauce with the meat. Today I ordered it with extra meat and no rice since I’m on the Atkins diet. Always noisy doing to all the hard surfaces. The staff here is always friendly and helpful.

This is my second time here now and I don’t have any true complaints but it may not knock your socks off. I’ll actually go with a 3.5 stars on this one. The inside is pretty clean. The menu is streamlined and the cashiers were… Cashiers lol. They were fairly helpful. Quick run down about how the menu works. You can choose and app if you want then you start building your meal by selecting your protein including hippie options(small or large size) and then figure out if you want a noodle bowl or rice. Then pick your sauce/flavor(which they give a decent amount of choices) and finally additional items. It’s as simple as that. I think I may explore other flavors but I will say I was pleased with the ginger and broccoli sauce combo. It was pretty flavorful. Not a bad place for decent meal with some different flavors. And average price, depending on the protein you choose. Oh and some people could find it somewhat salty but that all depends on your preference taste buds. I prefer salty over sweet.
