This place is good if you’re looking for a cheap grilled cheese. Their grilled cheese with the mac & cheese inside is my favorite. Their sandwiches are all pretty much under $ 10, so it’s definitely a good deal for what you get.

I came across this place and thought why not try a grilled cheese, you cant really go wrong! First of the price seemed a bit high for such a small simple order, also the quality of the cheese used was not very good either. The fried were also pretty disappointing. Will not go back.

I’ve had better grilled cheese for the price. It’s not bad, but it’s not great. Truly a 3 star restaurant that can improve. My combo was over $ 12(tax inc.) that included fries and a drink. I got their new item Egg-in-a-hole with bacon, and I needed more bacon or at least thicker strips. It was basically all cheese that overtook the flavor from the egg and bacon. I can’t recommend this place before trying the other restaurants at this shopping center.

Tried this place for the first time with my fiancé. We walked in here by accident. There used to be a Jamba Juice here, but not any more. We decided to try this place out and give it a chance. It actually was not bad. I really enjoy their sandwiches! Their Fries could be thicker in my opinion and the chili is average. Not a bad lunch spot.

I was a bit skeptical about the place do to Unilocal reviews and ratings but still decided to try. I ordered the Spicy Mission burger and my gf had the regular cheeseburger with bacon. Both burgers were delicious and sodas were even better! Only complaint is it was a bit pricey for being a fast food place.

I love the melt! Now don’t get me wrong, if you are looking for a wild burst of flavor or a wide variety of selections, keep it moving. However, if you’d like a nice fresh taste of some childhood favorites, this is the place. My regular go to is the MacDaddy. It’s a grilled cheese with sharp and mild cheddar, Macaroni, and bacon on artisan white. I also add grilled onions. I pair it with sweet potato fries and their all natural black cherry soda which is fantabulous!!! It’s clear, crisp and refreshing. Oh, and that pickle on the side has special powers… The packaging of all their items are really cute and everything is fresh. It makes you feel good about your $ 6 grill cheese decision.

Quick and fresh. A bit pricey, but I don’t have a problem with quality food items and selections for that perfect lunch. I truly like me a delicious tomato soup during gloomy days or rainy days, so this place is perfect to dip you sandwiches into it! You can try the sodas they offer, which uses sugar cane and is home brewed. The menu is also straight forward and describes what you’re ordering without the fluff! Enjoy!

I loved the fancy trays that made it a good presentation, also the sodas has a nice taste that differs from the generic soda fountains(such as coca cola, pepsi, etc.) The food quality I believe it needs some room for improvement. The burger and the grilled cheese is flavorful enough and it is something worth to try. However the sweet potato fries and the mac n cheese, clearly needs to be better. The sweet potato fries cuts-size is too small and it felt like I’m eating a greasy cereal. Furthermore, the mac and cheese has a very chewy texture and it just seemed very plain.

The Grilled Cheese is pretty good. The burger is not so much. To top it off I think the price is a bit on the high end. I’d like to give this place 4 stars but 3 stars is more deserving.

So greasy, oh man. I love grilled cheese, but I don’t think I knew what I was getting into. My friend and I split an Italian, which had Fontina & Provolone and grilled mushrooms on garlic bread. They also have a choice of free toppings: charred jalapenos, grilled onions, and fresh tomato. Don’t get me wrong, it was tasty. The flavor was pretty good, but the bread was seriously soaked in butter. I think if I had endeavored to eat this on my own, I would’ve been left feeling super greasy and bloated. Ordering is pretty easy. They even have a kiosk at the entrance so you can order by yourself, if that’s your style. The wait was a little long on a Sunday afternoon, but they gave us free fries to compensate. Yay.

Walking into the Melt was like some mixture of being cheap and being trendy. You walk in and they have a small ordering screen if you don’t want to see another human being, but you can also walk around the railing and order through an actual person. Since we had a coupon, we decided to order through a human being. Trying to rack up a $ 20 order was actually a bit taxing I realized, since the menu prices were so cheap. I was elated at the menu prices actually, but hoping I would still be full after the meal. We seated ourselves around the corner after getting fountain soda(which actually was not a Pepsi or Coke branded soda machine… Nor would I say«craft»). The large TV screen showed who was next to pick up their order like the blood draw waiting room at Kaiser. After about 15 – 20 minutes our order was ready. I thought my counterpart would need assistance carrying these items to the table, but turns out they were just those small wire baskets to hold all of our own ordered items. As you can see here, that spoon is actually also not normal size(it is smaller) and such the soup and the sandwich seem strangely small. Although one can tell it is «artisan» bread, it was not«artisan» size. … Needless to say I left hankering for other food. Although the sandwich was good, it was just smothered in butter, garlic, and parsley. The cheese inside wasn’t overly special, and with the mushrooms inside just seemed somewhat bland. I just thought I could make this at home very easily. I mean, the same can be said at Subway, but you go to Subway because it’s faster. You’re supposed to choose the Melt because it’s special, right? The soup was a sore disappointment. Although it smelled delectable, it left me pining since there wasn’t the satisfying texture of real meat inside. Everything had been disintegrated into a mushy, grainy consistency. …Where were my sausages and peppers? I really wanted to like this place. You guys know how my relationship with cheese is. We are very close. In fact, it stays with me forever. In my thighs. But this place… This place I would rather soon forget. I do not recommend.

This is a big fat MEH from me. Tried this place for the first time and ordered the steak lover grilled cheese, bacon bbq burger and the trio mac n’ cheese. The grilled cheese with steak, onions and cheddar was pretty tasty, with the bread being toasted quite well. But it was a little pricey for it’s size, considering it won’t get a normal person full. The burger and the mac n’ cheese, however, were a total fail. The burger looks big and juicy in the picture, but it’s deceptively small. The patty was dry and the bun was weak. The whole thing tasted like a soft textural mess. The mac n’ cheese was a little better, but still not the gooey and savory kind that I had imagined. It was basically just pasta tossed in a thin cheese sauce. And they have one of those generic soda machines, that oddly has a weird after taste to me. I think it’s safe to say that this place is not for me. But it’s partially my fault for ordering a burger from a grilled cheese place. I like the fact that they use natural and fresh ingredients in their food, but honestly, it just doesn’t taste that good. And at this price point, I can think of 337 other places I would rather eat for lunch. So come here for their grilled cheese. But please leave the burgers to the burger guys.

While I did like the service and the menu selection here, the food was a hit or miss. Love their fries, the grilled cheese is lacking a bit of flavor and the soup was only lukewarm, hate that. Prices are fair, portions on the small side, but the food is filling so it is enough really. Décor is bright and clean, simple with plenty of seating and easy parking. Fun to check out and a great place for kids, but not worth rushing back to.

If you are a cheese lover then check out The Melt. The employee I spoke with recommended that I get the Mac Daddy. This is a Mac and cheese sandwich with bacon. I got mine with fries. The Mac and cheese was very creamy and there was lots of bacon. I wish they had larger sandwiches since mine was gone in a few bites. The fries were perfectly seasoned and were fresh and hot. When your order is ready, they call your initials. This seems odd since there may be more than one person with the same initials. Everything was clean but I was there at opening. I’ll try going later in the day my next time.

Fun restaurant to grab a bite to eat with a friend. Had the BBQ burger, and friend had the regular grilled cheese, sides of fries, and two drinks. I liked that they customized my burger for me(+fried onions, –grilled onions), and that the burger was a good size. Fries were good too! Loved the cane sugar soda, super yummy!

I tend to stay away from fast food chain restaurants, but this is one of the exceptions. This place is great! My girlfriend and I stumbled upon this joint when we’re waiting for the 17th door haunted house to open. From the outside, it looks like an ordinary fast food chain and from the inside, it was very clean. Servers are really helpful for first time costumers. They told us burgers and Mac N Cheese are their specialty so we decided to order it. I ordered their chicken panini melt with a side of their sweet potato fries and it was mouth watering. It was so cheesy and juicy when I bit my panini that it looks like I popped a gum in my face. And the sweet potato fries are crunchy and a good complimentary side for a meaty sandwich. Of course we shared half and half so we can try both our dish. My girlfriend ordered their avocado burger with a side of Mac N Cheese. The avocado burger is small compare to an ordinary burger, but packs a lot of flavor in it. It was damn meaty that feels like I’m biting into a steak. Adding the Mac N Cheese is just cheating to this point cause it’s damn good. It was a perfect simple Mac N Cheese in my opinion. Their organic sodas are great, too; it doesn’t taste like the cola that you ordered anywhere else so definitely try it. Overall, this joint is worth going. PS: I really wish they have this in Long Beach PSS: If they do, I’ll definitely go at least once per week :)

Why can you say about the melt? Maybe that it makes me a little less svelte ! As places like this go Was a little pricey, don’t you know. Got the burger for a treat And you can actually taste the meat! Fries were a good, Combo on the side And cane cola was a new taste, so i tried . Don’t expect this to be A regular haunt — Or else it will be breaking the bank on your lunch-time jaunt Was so hungry forgot to take a pic! So see my shot of the left overs, slick.

Come here for the grilled cheese and the sweet potato fries! The Melt is starting to spread its wings and this Tustin Marketplace location is its newest spot. They serve burgers, chicken sandwiches, grilled cheese sandwiches, salads, macaroni and cheese and milkshakes. My review rating is based more heavily on their grilled cheese(5 star) and service(5 star) vs. some of the other items, which I’ll go into. If you(or your kids) are craving a grilled cheese sandwich, the Melt is the place to go. They flat press your freshly made sandwich on Electrolux sandwich presses, which make for a very even and crisp grilled cheese sandwich. Classic Grilled Cheese with Bacon and Jalapeño — If you can handle the heat, I recommend this custom order combination to you. You get full slices of bacon, charred jalapenos and aged cheddar all between two perfectly toasted pieces of bread. After I took my first bite the cheese started to hang over the edge of the toast a little, just how I like it. Shroom Burger with Avocado — Generous with the mushrooms and avocado, but my lasting impression of their burgers is that they are tiny for what you pay for them. If you’re here with others and don’t have the freedom to venture, then it’ll do, but with In-N-Out and G Burger all within striking distance, that’s some tough competition on the burger turf. Bacon Florentine Mac ‘n’ Cheese — There were rumblings from some in our group the the mac ‘n’ cheese isn’t cheesy enough. I would argue differently. There is tons of cheese flavor in this dish. Creamy aged cheddar, fontina and jack cheeses with crispy onions on top. The issue isn’t the flavor, it’s that the cheese sauce is more soupy than thick, so there is a lot of sauce, but it tends to go to the bottom of the dish fast. So in that sense, my friends are right. It’s not that cheesy on top, but super cheesy on the bottom. Spoon and dip and you’ll be good. The difference between Bacon Florentine and Regular is literally a few leaves of spinach and some bacon bits on top. Sweet Potato Fries — This was my favorite side… Thin cut sweet potato strings with parmesan cheese shavings on top. Well Dressed Fries(Fries with the Mac ‘n’ Cheese Sauce, Bacon, and Crispy Onions) — You get exactly what’s described, but it’s not a whoa dish. There is an upcharge for this, so if you aren’t keen on runny cheese sauce on top, just get regular or sweet potato fries. The fry tray size is the same as the other fry orders, so you aren’t getting more, you are just getting the toppings on top. Salads — I didn’t try. Drinks — For self serve drinks they use all natural fountain soda and brewed iced tea. Black Cherry, Cane Cola, Root Beer, Lemon-Lime. The servers here were nice and were quick to give us extra crispy onions(no charge) on request. It’s a little pricey for the amount of burger you get, but the grilled cheese sandwiches are first rate and I would come back for that.

Meh… Not impressed yet not horrified, pretty average place. This gets a 3 star for a few reasons! 1: service was awesome friendly blonde man welcomed me and gave me his suggestions which was awesome — always love confidence and when employees can give their personal suggestions without being scared. 2) Let’s get to the food! The fries were delicious I enjoyed them I had the dressed fries. My only criticisms was they didn’t come with onions as stated in the menu — or at least I didn’t see them. Not really sure. Other than that they definitely were good. The Burger was very underwhelming! I had the spicy burger with the avocados and pickled onions. It was a little cold and just so vinegary. I felt there was no balance and the vinegary onions slightly overpowered the burger. The drink was delicious I had the cane cola it was crisp and enjoyable! Also portion size for the burger is very small. It’s basically an oversized slider. It is what it is I would’ve just enjoyed a warmer burger but it was free and these are my honest opinions just so they can fix up somethings before they officially open.
