Clearly my new favorite place, off the beaten path, to sit outside in the early morning with an Americano and a Danish while I just relax and prepare for my big work day. But more on that in a moment… Located in Duck Cedar Plaza, formerly Duck Cedar Inn. Nestled in the Town of Tuxedo NY. Been passing this place for decades and just realized now… Did they name it «Duck Cedar» as a play on «Tux-edo»? Dottie Audry’s has been here a relatively short while in the time I have known this property. After the Duck Cedar Inn went out of business, and they turned this into a plaza, I didn’t have high hopes for the location. But then they go and bring in this quaint, remarkable café which is clearly a hidden gem in this area, one which I hope many more will discover to ensure they are in business for good. I live in northeastern Orange County and this is bit of a hike. I do frequent Bergen County NJ on business, however, and always make a point to take«Old 17» for nostalgic purposes, to avoid the sterile and boring NY State Thruway, as well as having a fun, lots-of-curves, windows-rolled-down joyride. Places like Dottie Audry’s make it worthwhile and add to the experience in a meaningful way. With summer in full swing, I have been a hound on the trail of places to relax for coffee or a meal where I can sit outside and relax. Having driven by it numerous times, always making a mental note of how it looks like a place I would like to frequent, particularly with the prospect of sitting outside on the«front porch», I finally looked it up online. So happy I did. This morning I set my sites on it en route to NJ. This is only my first visit, about 20 minutes in, and I can say I have a new spot of choice. I simply had an almond cheese Danish and an espresso and, honestly, I’m at a loss for words. I did check out the rest of the menu and from breakfast to sandwiches, from desserts to coffee, this place has it all at very reasonable prices. In fact, they give more than you would expect. Atmosphere is warm, friendly and casual, yet quaint and inviting and you feel like you’re hanging at home or at a friend’s place.(«Mack the Knife» playing in the background, big band style, as I write) I highly recommend checking out the website and the menu and come and bring your close friends for a great time. Just, please, don’t buy up the last almond– cheese. Remember who sent you here in the first place. Save one for yours truly, will ya? Much appreciated! Well done, Dottie Audry’s… You are worthy of your Tuxedo NY location and I wish you(and especially me) years of amazing success in operation. We’re all counting on you to stay!

Dottie Audrey never fails to impress. I went there today and got a croissant. I was offered butter and jam with the croissant. The girls at the counter are so friendly and helpful. This is really my favorite place in Orange County, NY.

This place is an absolute gem. Went on a Saturday afternoon– too late for breakfast, but no shortage of fantastic alternatives. Had baked brie, whitefish toast, avocado toast– no idea which was my favorite. All of them? Just ridiculously good food, great service. Do not miss this place.

My wife and I felt like going for a drive on Sunday so, as usual she looked in Unilocal. The reviews for Dottie Audrey’s sounded really good so we drove from our home in Nyack took Tuxedo park. The restaurant is in a new cluster of stores on the southbound side of 17 just north of Tuxedo. When we walked in we immediately felt comfortable. The place is decorated in a crisp and cozy way with interesting lighting and lots of memorabilia. Like many newer ‘fast dining’ restaurants you order and pay for your food at the counter, take a seat, and the food is brought to your table. First let me say everything was 5 star from the service, to the food to the very pleasant staff and the husband and wife owners, Pat and Jen. By the time we got settled in the coffee was on the table and the food came soon after. I ordered the Lower East Side breakfast and my wife had the Tuxedo Breakfast. Again everything was great from the salad dressing to the two types of bread they bake to the coffee. I particularly loved the brown. The scrambled eggs were cooked perfectly and the whitefish salad was fresh. We got two pastries to try which were both really good. The owners spent some time talking to us. They opened the business about seven months ago in what looks like new construction. I was curious how they got it running so smoothly so quickly. Jen said that both she and her husband have been in the food business for some time and that they decided now was a good time to open their own place. Although it’s about a 20 minute drive for us we will be going back there soon and I heartily recommend it to anyone who is looking for a casual breakfast or dessert with great food and service.

Absolutely delicious. Toby’s coffee was a perfect choice — one of my favorites in Brooklyn. And the food is to die for. Haven’t eaten anything that I haven’t liked yet. My favorite is the Signature salad. Great staff. Very kind and willing to customize to each customer. Definitely recommend!

First and foremost I found this place via Unilocal and it is outstanding. I had the thanksgiving sandwich and it blew my mind! Yes! This was just the place I was looking for. The latte and cappuccino is top notch. I’ve also been next door to the hoagie’s place and it is great too. If you just want coffee and baked good you have to, have to, stop here! The staff is super cool and attentive. They make a mean wafflette. A must to try, it small and packs a ton of punch. It takes them 3 days to just make the batter. Give it a go, you won’t be disappointed!

We had brunch for 4 at Dottie’s this morning. I had the ham and cheese omelet, my wife had the salmon and avocado omelet and her parents had the blueberry pancakes and French toast. Fortunately, I had the opportunity to sample all the food :) along with Belgian waffles and a Macadamia nut cookie. Everything was spectacular, we were very surprise by the high quality if food … definitely on par with our favorite NYC brunch spots. The tea and strawberry lemonade were great as well. Definitely stop by Dottie’s if you are in this area.

As I drove past Dottie Audrey’s today I saw that there sister store, Keystone Hoagies, had opened. I write this review now with a full belly, a pizza steak I have yet to even open, and excited to come back to try more of Keystone’s menu. Wanting to sample a bit, I ordered a side of chili cheese fries to go with the pizza steak. When they came out, it was immediately clear to me that consuming both items was but a pipe dream, with the mound of fries, chili, and cheese easily serving as its own meal for just five dollars. They were, simply put, the best chili cheese fries I’ve ever had. The steak fries were thick and well-seasoned, the chili was fresh, and the cheese far superior to the normal goop put on fries. I look forward to eating my pizza steak later tonight and returning to Keystone, especially in the summer as a post-Harriman hike lunch spot.

This cute bakery caught our eye when we were driving back from hiking in the area. We were originally just going to grab a few pastries to go, but once we saw their menu we just had to stay and eat some lunch! I’m sure the smell of fresh baked bread encourages everyone to stay and eat more. ;) I liked the style of the bakery with their open layout and low key ordering system. You just order at the front, and they come to deliver your food. Their menu is traditional food you’d find at a bakery– soup, salads, sandwiches, and various brunch items.
My bf ordered a crab frittata and I ordered the avocado toast. Our meals came out very quickly and even though there are no «servers», there are several friendly employees walking around checking to see if patrons need anything. The meals were very tasty! The portions were filling, but not too large. It’s the size of meal where you can finish the entire thing, but you won’t feel stuffed afterwards. I loved my avocado toast and thought it was very fresh and flavorful. The side salad it came with went perfect with it. I didn’t try my bf’s dish, but he seemed to equally enjoy his. Before we left, we grabbed a few treats from their bakery– snickerdoodle cookie, cinnamon cream brioche, and Belgian chocolate mousse pie. They all were amazing! My favorites were the cookie and brioche– they were both soft and full of flavor.

Today’s 2nd visit was just as good as my first. The chicken and sausage cassoulet was delicious, and the chicken was tender, the dish flavorful, and it was perfect for the chilly weather. The latte I had was also enjoyable, and was creamy and didn’t need much sugar to be perfect. I got 2 snickerdoodles to take home, and they were perfect-crispy on the edges, chewy towards the center, and you could tell they were made from scratch.

It’s a great coffee/bakery/food place! Very attentive and nice stuff. Seems family business. Made with love and attention to the details. Their espresso and latte are great. Food is well balanced by taste and ingredients. Salads are pretty big. Soups taste really good. They have veggie soup too and it’s good. Also recommend to try their breads(there is with natural yeast). We’ve also tried chive muffin and it’s perfect choice if you would like smth baked, but not sweet. Brownie is perfectly made too. Cheesecake has a bit different from widespread taste(more soft and creamy), but also good. Generally it’s perfect place before or after hiking on numerous trails around. Definitely will come back to Dottie Audrey’s again.
