Best Breakfast choices around. The eggs, home fries and meats always prepared perfectly. Very friendly service and just plain old comfortable place to sit, relax and enjoy.

Food was good, portion size was good, only bad thing is that there was only one waitress, but the food still came very fast and the service was good

I discovered this gem 3 years ago after a spartan race that was held in the area, and have been traveling 35 minutes out of the way since to go back. This is diner food done right! Breakfast is always on point but my favorite things are the homemade soups and the cheeseburgers. They truly hit the spot everytime. The staff is extremely friendly and it gives you that feel good vibe when you walk in. Keep up the great work guys! See you soon

If there’s an allergen ingredient, it’s the establishment’s responsibility to disclaim it. Also, one would not think to ask if it said something like«chicken and broccoli with rice». Yellow sauce? It didn’t say that on the menu. The waitress had no clue what was in it. She went to ask the chef and came back to tell us there was butter in it. I asked for another with no sauce and she tells us the chef us mad and that I should’ve told them first I couldn’t have dairy. She gave me a small lecture about it, but if you really wanted to avoid problems, at least let people know there’s a sauce on it, geez. And when it was remade, I found a HAIR in it, and had a feeling it was purposely done. Screw that. Another group was coming in and one of the staff started screaming at them to close the door because of the A/C going out. Such unprofessional treatment of customers. Food was average at best, too. Would not recommend.

Went for breakfast with my family. I ordered eggs and sausage, home fries WELLDONE and an English muffin with extra butter. I know too much butter is bad but it’s Sunday morning. Eggs were good, sausages were thin and done in the fryolator which left them dry and a bit chewy. The extra butter on the English had an odd yellow tinge to it. We figured it was marjjorin and were a bit disappointed. The flavor wasn’t bad but I use real butter rather than chemicals. Our request for well done home fries was also a disappointment as ours were not. Service was great and friendly.

Ordered couple of Cheeseburger Deluxe platters. The burghers and fries tasted like oil with no flavor. Absolutely no effort to serve decent food. Drove back for 2 hours with stomach pain. Avoid at all cost. Drive extra 5 minutes and you’ll be in Paramus with many better options.

Old style type diner with typical diner food. Our waitress was very friendly and refill our coffees and teas without us asking! She even gave two small kiddies cups of water for our friends’ kids without us asking! The waitress is a Gem! She seems to be the only one working so please be patient if you’re not in a rush, but if you’re hungry and rushing, go else where. There were six of us and we all ordered breakfast, no complaints from any of us. It was good and enjoyable.

Been coming up to this area to hike since birth and have never tried this place. Until today. Grabbed a table and noticed that the entire room was being handled by one waitress. She appeared to me that she had been working there since the place opened for business many moons ago. She was terrific, let me tell ya. No lapses in service. Chicken fingers for the boy. Corned beef hash, well done home fries and rye toast for me. Everything tasted fresh and good. Would definitely stop by again.

There aren’t many choices in Tuxedo so I’ve found myself here several times in the last month or two when going camping. The food is decent but the service isn’t great. The home fries have bacon in them which is a nice surprise. Their clam chowder is good but they’ve only had it one time. The bathroom is relatively clean but there’s no lock on the mens stall. Typically I need to ask for a refill of my water even when it’s 100% empty and once the check has been dropped off I never see the waitress again.

They don’t make them like this anymore. I’ve been coming here since the 1970s, it hasn’t changed much(though there WAS a facelift in the 90s, or 2000s). Really good old-style diner food, as mentioned in other reviews, nothing fancy, but boy-oh-boy, if you’re driving up route 17 in the morning, this is your breakfast stop. It’s the kind of place where they butter the toast. Compare and contrast: After you finish eating, if you’re driving north, you’ll soon pass the Red Apple Rest, once famous because it plastered highways for miles around with its signs. That was cool in a Burma Shave kind of way but the food was never as good and the place was too sprawling. Orange Top keeps it classic and classy.

Pretty good as far as going with kids. The food was decent, the prices decent. A little drafty though inside. The service was a tax slow but the waitress was nice. Would go check it out again.

Very simple food at reasonable prices. Good location near the Tuxedo train station and ample parking is a plus. Service was friendly and low key. We had simple breakfast food(eggs ect…) and everything was good. The menu was larger than I was expecting to find. Also, there were a lot of seating options, so this would definitely be a good place to come with a group.

I’m partial to their breakfasts, especially the corned beef hash. Excellent eggs, and although it is simple diner fare, I have never been disappointed. Seems to be quite popular on weekends as well.

I like the Orange Top. The interior is a little dated, and the menu is basic, but the service is so friendly and the food is just done right. Nothing fancy, just really basic good diner food. The coffee, however, is some of the best I’ve had in a restaurant, and breakfast is off-the-charts good. I especially like the corned beef hash and eggs, which is the best I’ve been able to find anywhere. Omelettes and home fries are also excellent. Prices are very reasonable.

Great place for breakfast. Always busy, friendly service filled on Sunday w/after church locals & visitors driving/motorcyling through. I hear the lunch & dinner are delicious as well. My mom loves the corned beef and rye, my sons love the beef soup when they aren’t getting breakfast. My husband enjoys the omlettes, I usually get breakfast– bacon, browns, poached eggs on dry rye.

Worst diner ever! Took ½ to get food grilled cheese made with Kraft cheese slices, fries weren’t cooked and mayonnaise was cheap salad spread! Would give this place ½ star if I could.

Talk about middle of nowhere, you’ll be surprised to find even a decent diner like this one. It’s no fancy diner but has all the basic menus a diner would have. Hot and cold sandwiches, wraps, salads, breakfast entrees, burgers, steak. you name it. Like other reviewers have mentioned, the décor is very old but not grimey. I came here twice after a visit to Woodbury Premium Outlets and my dad somehow found this place along route 17. The first time I came here, I was slightly disappointed with my chicken salad wrap. It was a bit dry and the chicken were pretty chunky, which is not my preference. Then I came here yesterday and ordered a hamburger deluxe which was fairly decent. Actually, it’s a lot better than typical diners in the city. The fries were delicious and for $ 7, it ain’t too shabby at all. Service is kind of slow but then again, there’s only one lady serving and usually, the place isn’t packed.

Old-school classic sort of diner, still with a 1940s /1950s kind of feel. Food is really good, American-style. A local gem. Highly recommend them for breakfast.

You know, I really dig this place. It ain’t fancy, like something from the 40’s or 50’s. Route 17 through Rockland and Orange Counties is a major motorcycle route on the weekends, because it’s a gateway to lots of twisty country roads nearby. This diner has been a go-to lunch spot for me for several years. There’s nothing on the menu here that will surprise you, but they have all the diner breakfast, lunch and dinner things you expect. Service is friendly, parking is ample. It’s the right place to eat in the right place on the road.
