Super nice and profession. $ 133 for truck chains and installation. We are virgins so they took the time to educate us too. Too sweet

Maybe my favorite climbing shop. Great selection of snacks and gear, plus customer service and climbing beta that goes above and beyond. An example: Recently lost a phone at the leap, someone turned it in to the strawberry store. We were able to identify that it was there, but weren’t going to get back until after hours. David opened the store specifically to give us the phone, wow!

You can stop by and use the bathroom without needing to buy anything. There’s also a port-a-potty in the garage if the line inside gets too long. There’s a ton of snacks and drinks, so it’s an awesome pit stop for the long ride to South Lake. The patio area looks like a great place to kick it also. Skip Strawberry Lodge across the street and stop by this place — you won’t regret it!

This is a great place to stop on your way to Tahoe! The snow was coming down pretty hard so my husband and I decided to take w break and maybe get some snacks and drinks. Lo and behold, this place not only had snacks, but a great selection of beer and wine… and you can drink there! The employees were especially sweet and helpful and I appreciated their hospitality !

I just popped in there today and guess what?! It’s still freaking amazing. If you can, get a cinnamon roll AND the cookies. I promise you will not be disappointed.

I stopped by for hot coffee after leaving Tahoe. What a great lil place. the owner(a happy Dead Head) pipes in nice music for shopping. He and staff were super friendly. The store has a little of everything. Hats, walking sticks, beverages, food. Impressive lil place. I like the old VW Bus outside. Adds Character. I was allowed to eat a sando I brought with me on their outdoor patio while I drank that fine coffee. The product which is sold inside is good stuff so its worth a drop in. See ya next trip through guys.

The owners were amazingly helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. I came to climb in Lovers leap but left my chalk bag and belay gloves at home and was happy to see them in this store. They also have great selection of soft drinks and espresso drink. The latte here was pretty good.

This is the cutest little mountain grocery store and a great place to stop on your way to or from Tahoe. They have a great selection of foods and even cater to those who indulge on organic, non-GMO products. They have an excellent selection of snow chains if you find ourself up the mountain with mandatory chain controls. All in all, I love this little family-owned grocery store! If you go on account of this review, please tell Squirrel or his lovely wife Aja from Unilocal says hi and please comment on my review! Have fun in Tahoe or a safe drive home!

Nice little general store that also sells a few pieces of climbing gear. Staff are super friendly!!! I even picked up a local bottle of wine. If you’re driving by, take time for a pit stop at Strawberry Station General Store.

Strawberry General Lodge is the place to go for your early morning coffee before heading up to climb or ski. The owners«Squirrel and Jennifer are wonderful folks. Because to get some beta from Squirrel on climbing Lovers Leap and the surrounding areas. They have climbing gear as well and a great selection of beer.

Excellent lattes, excellent selection of climbing gear, outdoor gear, food, everything! But what makes this place exceedingly top notch is the friendly and helpful owners. We were car camping and the campsite was closed for the winter and we ran into Jennifer on the road. She took the time to stop and asked if we needed help and then directed us to places we could stay. Then the next day her husband, Squirrel, helped us with excellent places to climb and was a wealth of information. He used to own the third climbing gym in the nation and has been climbing for 30+ years. I would recommend this place to EVERYONE. By far most genuine and best customer service ever and wonderful down to earth couple.

This place is a gem. I’d only been there for firewood and beer previously, but last weekend, I was in a jam, and they really came through. I was invited last minute to climb at the Leap, and I had no gear. I needed shoes and harness at least, so I checked at the Station. Squirrel was out, but his wife was in. She told me all their rentals were taken. They went to great pains, made a special dispensation, and l left there with shoes and a harness. Great climbing day, and they were open until 6:30 on a Sunday so I could return my stuff following a late walk-off. Also, awesome coffee and beer /wine selection. Also, they sell climbing gear at market /REI prices. Also, also… This place is a gem.

Great general store with espresso, coffee, good beers, outdoor oriented foods and supplies, and climbing gear. The owner, Squirrel, is friendly and a local climbing legend. The store often has Greatful Dead playing on the stereo and nice chairs and tables outside to take in the views of Lover’s Leap across the street.

This place is so much better than it used to be. They have a lot of different items and the prices are reasonable. This is a great stop if you need hiking snacks, skiing food, cabin food. They have a lot of different items. And the staff and new owners are just great.

Given location and what the Strawberry General Store offers, if you need a cuppa while in the high sierras give it shout. My review portfolio mainly focuses on coffee but this place recently added a proper expresso machine. I ordered a latte and was pleasantly surprised. Only one bean type and no decaf. Benefit is you can pick up food supplies. Nice outdoor seating and staff very friendly. Added benefit is the post office next door but get your coffee first as the service is a bit ordinary.

New owners make all the difference! In 2012, Strawberry Station changed ownership and the new owners are awesome! They’ve updated and cleaned up the store, making it a great resource for the Strawberry community. The owners also manage the store so service is A++++. You won’t find friendlier or more helpful folks! Super reasonable prices, fresh food items, nice variety of beer, wine, a great selection of natural food and general ‘mini market snacks’, and awesome espresso drinks! For climbers, they have a great selection of gear and for fishermen, they have worms!!! :) Oh – and a nice, clean bathroom!

You want to talk about customer service? Try to match this. Fiancé leaves hiking boots at Ralston Peak turnout. Realize this after getting back to Sacramento. Call Strawberry Station(we’d shopped there before), and ask Squirrel, the owner, if they could go look and see if the boots still there. He agrees and finds them. AREYOUKIDDINGME. I don’t even know this guy. What a shit hot operation run by rad people. BTW, great beer selection, quality snacks, and climbing gear as well. All people must patronize this place all the time. Thanks, Squirrel. You guys make me believe in humanity.

Thought I’d give an update on the new ownership this year. New owners are great, lots of exciting changes have been happening! The Market is an integral part of the small community of Strawberry, an American gem that’s increasingly rare these days. The only market between Kyburz and Tahoe. Super friendly service in a quaint mountain town. If it weren’t for the market, I would have to make a lot more trips to Tahoe. Make this your stop, support a true local business and meet some great people!

This place was a great stop. I was happy to make a purchase in order to use the restroom. Even though I could’ve just walked across the street if that was a big deal. We bought a couple of candy bars and a specialty bottled soda($ 10.67) There are bear carvings all over that seem to run from $ 200 for the smallest one to much larger figures. They were beautiful. The man at the counter who helped us said the guy who does them was in the back and that he’s been doing it a long time. You could tell! If we had a cool cabin, or even a secure front porch, I would’ve tried to haggle the price down ad brought one of the cuties home with me!
