My experience with Tybee Island Wedding did not parallel the excitement and joy I felt with planning so many other details of my wedding. I feel that since we purchased the smallest, basic package from TIW, we were a very, very low priority. Despite the website indicating that they’d be happy to «welcome us into [their] home» they made no accomodations to meet us in person. In fact, I was told that we would simply meet with the officiant 15 mins before the ceremony. There was no attempt to make this day feel as special as it should be for any bride. After reading so many reviews, I’ve concluded hat this family will invest in your special day only if you purchase one of their all-inclusive wedding packages. Website: Q ~ Can I set up a meeting to meet with you? Is there a charge? Absolutely. We are a home-based business, so we are happy to welcome you to our home for a meeting. We’ll talk about your wedding day, some details, and give you places to look around the island. We do not charge for an initial meeting to get to know each other. During the busy seasons(April thru October) we usually cannot meet on Saturdays, as they are our busy wedding days. We ask that you please be ONTIME for your meeting, as we are busy people, too.

We wanted a very simple wedding with out any headaches or hard work figuring everything out and Tybee Island Wedding gave us exactly that. We had a late March 2011 wedding and our simple elopement ended up turning into a small 10-guest family affair, but Stephen was very nice and accommodating. He even called a couple times the afternoon of our wedding to update us on weather issues and give us suggestions(it was currently raining). He was willing to let us wait out the rain and push our time back if needed, but luckily the rain cleared up in time. We didn’t need many arrangements, only to pick a particular spot on the beach, which they gladly gave suggestions on through email and also suggested good places for dinner or small reception afterwards. They kept it easy and simple. We were very happy with Stephen who officiated our wedding. He was pleasant, respectful and made things very easy for us. He even entertained our parents’ request for a couple photos after the ceremony. If you want any type of beach wedding, these are the people you want to call.

I already know that whatever I say here won’t be enough justice for this wonderful woman(and her husband!). From the moment I first talked to Jennifer, I knew she was going to be nothing less than amazing. She took the time to read through my wedding blog and familiarize herself with my vision. She lovingly put up with my email communication because I suck so much at making time to talk on the phone. The week of the wedding, Jennifer took charge of a ceremony timing mix up at Whitfield Square and made every phone call possible to make sure our day wouldn’t be ruined. She tried seeing if the couple before us had the same kind of chairs we wanted so set up wouldn’t be necessary(they didn’t) and she called the couple themselves to see how long their ceremony would take. I still to this day don’t know how she made everything better, but she did it somehow. Jennifer gets a vendor discount at some of the rental companies in Savannah, so she coordinated all my rentals. She even went on personal shopping runs to be sure last minute details didn’t slip through the cracks. This woman is seriously a Godsend. I just want to take a moment and say this: If you are getting married in the Savannah area, do yourself a favor and hire this woman to ease your mind! Not only is she great at what she does, she also comes at an incredibly affordable price. I began my own wedding photography business 10 months ago and every time I get a couple from Savannah, I refer them to Tybee Island Wedding. Jennifer, THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU for EVERYTHING! You’re the bestest! :)

Stephen and Jennifer Palmer are Tybee Island Wedding. They plan, coordinate, officiate, and just about anything else you need. We were planning our wedding from Atlanta, all site unseen. Although emails and calls weren’t returned quickly, they were always super nice and helpful. I told Jennifer what cakes and flowers we wanted and they magically appeared. It was nice to just make one payment for the entire ceremony, chairs, cakes, flowers, photography, and filing of the marriage license. If you’re in the market for a laid back beach wedding, make sure to work with Tybee Island Wedding. They can handle to small and large, casual or more traditional. Stephen’s officiating was great, the ceremony was beautiful!
