We have been to Tybee on three separate occasions and plan to return to this summer. Each trip our first point of order is to secure our rental. Our second is to put in our grocery order with Tybee Market. You can’t beat their delivery service! They have our groceries put away when we arrive and leave us a coupon on the counter in case we need anything else during our stay. And the manager/owner ALWAYS calls me to confirm my entire list and prices prior to charging. Whenever I have friends traveling to the island this is the first tip I give them-before any restaurant or relator or tourist destination!

This is the only grocery option on the island, but that being said their prices weren’t sky high. Everything I got was fairly normal grocery store prices. They had some hot deli items(fried chicken was good price and huge) and fresh items we picked up to make dinner at the condo(fish & veggies– fantastic meal for when you get sick of eating fried stuff!). They have a good run of all the basics you need and a few necessity items if you forgot shampoo or soap. No complaints & this is walkable distance from many of the condos & houses.

Nice location, super over priced but, I guess you are paying for the convenience, pretty friendly service. Ice cream I think was about 4 – 6 dollars a box and Tostitos were 3.99 or 4.99 for a regular size bag. Tums were a decent price, I guess it’s an ok option for the location.

Wish they had a better beer selection, but for being the only super market on Tybee, I was more than happy with what they had to offer. I was worried that the prices would be high, but I didn’t think anything was unreasonable at all.

If you expect to find anything different than this place on an island like Tybee island you took the wrong vacation. It’s got all the stuff you need. Staying across the street was clutch when we got thirsty, hungry or just needed Gatorade and pedialyte to work off last nights hangover!

OK this was the only super market on the island but how funny it is to visit. It is a very small market with every thing spread out all over the place. You won’t find things in order and the staff didn’t even know where every thing is located. They also lacked variety but they had enough for you to get by while visiting the island. I recommend bringing your favorite sauces or condiments because they won’t have your stuff here. Costs are normal. Parking is limited. Staff is friendly.

It’s been YEARS since I’ve actually seen an IGA market… So, we headed to Tybee for a little vacation and decided to head to our rental condo first, just to see exactly what we might need to get from the grocery store. The store is tiny, and if you are claustrophobic, you are going to have a rough time in here. There is only room in most areas for one cart to pass, so bring some patience and be forewarned. We were only staying a few days at the beach, so we only needed to pick up a few items. And while they don’t carry a ton of things that a big box supermarket would, it’s got the essentials. We picked up some fresh fruit, croissants from the bakery(they were good) and a few snacky items that we could take to the beach with us. Check out was friendly, but as I mentioned before, not a lot of room to maneuver the store. If you are headed to the island for more than a few days, I would recommend stopping at a Publix or larger store before you cross the bridge… you’ll have more selection, and better prices, but this is not a bad stop if you only need a few things. :)

We found the prices extremely fair. The staff is very nice and a good location in the center of the island.

This is exactly what I would expect to find on an island like Tybee. It was small, eclectic and friendly. The prices really were not as high as everyone seems to think — come to Philly and make the comparison. Heck, go to Publix and compare — we stopped in there on the way in from Savannah and it was way more expensive. It is what it is — just the right size and perfectly located for Tybee Island. Do you really want a big-box type market on your little island? I don’t think so. I like this little place.

The only reason this place stays in business is because it’s the only game in town. Most of us would rather drive 15 minutes to the Kroger on Wilmington than dance with this devil. The first issue is that everything is overpriced. That’s pretty much to be expected, since they have no competition and can get away with it. Plus tourists will spend more money on vacation than locals any day of the week, so summers are their bread and butter. But even I wouldn’t mind paying higher prices if the product was good. Multiple times we have brought home containers of fruit, like grapes, that look okay from the outside, only to open them up and find them covered in mold. The same things happens with bread. Also the brand selection is pretty lame. I feel like I’m shopping at Big Lots all the time. If you’re going to charge me Haagen Daas level prices for my ice cream, why is 80% of the ice cream for sale generic? The store itself is just plain dirty and messy, with products scattered in the aisles and tacky signs taped up everywhere. Needless to say, we don’t shop here, but I feel bad for the tourists who have no other options and no way to get off island. A word to those coming to Tybee, do your shopping in Wilmington before you show up, if you can. Spending money at this IGA will only encourage them to keep fleecing not only you, but the rest of us who live here year round.

I’m from a little small country town in Kentucky and this little store reminded me of all that. It had everything you could need on vacation for the family. Great prices and great location also!
