Had the worst service last night. No one ever came to our table to offer any explanation. We had to flag the server to even place our order. Too much competition in town to not offer better service.

This review is overdue. I came here a while back with a friend who used to live in California and insisted this place was pretty good and comparable to what she missed in San Diego. Yea yea, that’s what they all say! I tried enchiladas and chicken tortilla soup and eh… the enchiladas had nothing on Cali, oh, but the chicken tortilla soup was the best I’ve ever had and I still crave it to this day! What the what?! Nice pulled big pieces of chicken and warm tasty broth down the throat. Sad thing is, I ordered the enchiladas! Lol. My friend’s mom is the one who ordered the soup and let me try some. She ended up sharing it after she saw I liked it so much. Bless her because I wanted it all. Service was good(I think…) and the décor was fab and authentic to Mexican culture. If I ever come back… you know what I’m ordering!

After nearly three years of living in Tyler, Don Juan’s is still one of my faves. They’ve always been consistent, as I’ve never had a bad meal(or service) here. You can’t go wrong with anything here, and the margaritas add a Holly Holm kick to your liver. Seriously, ask for«the Steve» and see what happens; I dare you. Good solid food, service, and strong margaritas. My only beef is that the tables are really small, and crammed together(especially upstairs). Other than that, it’s one of the best in Tyler.

How am I just now reviewing Don Juan’s? Don Juan’s is my go to spot for Mexican in Tyler. I am there almost every Wednesday for tacos, and the waitress always knows my order. I love the green salsa and the spicer, smokey red salsa. Then again, I have never left disappointed.

I am always in search of a Mexican Restaurant similar to those I frequent in California. This comes very close. The tacos were great and the flavored right. Service was print and friendly. I will return to downtown Tyler to eat here again.

Very friendly staff, and one of the few places you can get a more authentic tasting Mexican meal in East Texas. Their meals are very inexpensive compared to other restaurants whose taste would compare. Amazing lunch specials, and a neat multi-stort location on the square!

The best authentic Mexican place in town! You can not go wrong here. Their guacamole is awesome! I usually order their Don Juan plate(#26). It has their Carne Asada and 2 enchiladas. It is enough food for 2 meals and is wonderful. I come here at least once a week or I have withdraws.

Super fun place! Amazing tacos! Very attentive, friendly staff. Wednesday is $ 1 tacos… need I say more? Spring for the cheese and avocado for an extra 60 cents.

I believe that this restaurant is hyped up. The food was mediocre, servers were pretty bad(I’ll get into that) but their deal is pretty irresistible: dollar taco night on Wednesdays and two dollar margaritas. Which is the main reason why people go there. Anyways, but the food is just okay to me, could have been better. The servers took forever just to bring out water for the table. And took another 10 years to get refills. It wasn’t even the fact that he was busy, it was the fact that he was talking to his coworkers… Other than that, location of the place is nice and the atmosphere inside was a little chaotic but interesting to say the least.

Delicious food at a great price. This place was recommended to me by one of the baristas at The Foundry Coffee Shop down the street. It’s a bit dark inside so if your hearing impaired and need to read lips then this is not a place for you. Otherwise, the atmosphere is fun and the food is delicious! I had the tacos. They are small but cheap and totally worth it. Get at least 3 or 4. My meal was less then $ 7.

I ate there yesterday at the one on the square. I am a nurse and I had gotten off work and just wanted some good food before heading home. I ordered the Carne Asada. The food was great. I couldn’t eat it all so I asked for a box. I was charged for a box to take my leftovers in. I was charged for a cup to take my tea in. I asked about taking home my leftover hot sauce that they will be throwing in the trash and that was going to cost me another two dollars. So I took my stuff with me and left no tip. I am a great tipper usually. I can’t believe that they made me pay twice for my stuff. How is that ok?

Great food at an affordable price. You can’t go wrong with a meal here. My favorite is the stream taco on flour tortilla. Tip? Go on Wednesday, it’s dollar taco night. Lee

I went there for lunch with some of my co-workers and we generally enjoyed the meals. I felt like my tacos were a bit bland but other than they weren’t too bad. The guacamole was very good and the ingredients seemed fresh for the most part which earns it them the 4th star. Worth trying at least once.

If I could give this place a zero, I would. Probably the most over hyped place in town. In a town drowning in Mexican restaurants, Don Juan’s is regarded to be ‘the best’ in many circles. In reality, it’s probably the worst food I have ever experienced. They are known for their margaritas, so I am assuming people give the place good reviews after they are good and liquored up. Stay far, far away.
