I solely went here to ring the Cancer Bell as I’ve had a lot of people in and around my life be affected by cancer recently. So I can’t really talk about the route or other amenities in and around the trail. I searched on Unilocal and went to it — wrong location — searched on google maps, got to the right place but missed the turn because this is a trail, not a park. There is no ‘entry’. So I did a full loop of the trail in my car and drove into the Capitol One parking lot, went a little deeper in and parked close to the trail. I didn’t know it would be there but it was a hunch. Good hunch — I only had to walk maybe 100 – 200 yards to the bell. I stopped at the bell plaque and read it, when a woman came running, rang the bell, and continued to run her way. It really got me thinking what comfort and encouragement that may be to someone. I had been contemplating ringing for each person I was thinking of, then came to my senses when she rang it. It is DANGLOUD so I just sat for a moment, thought of everyone, then rang the bell. Proceeded to go deaf for a few minutes, then went back to my car. I think there are a lot of chiggers out there or something cuz my legs were burning up. Or maybe I’m allergic to the grass? IDK. In any case, it seems like a nice trail — some scenic spots, and a cancer bell to boot. It’s awesome to think that this bell is rung daily by someone for someone. Love.

I like it a lot. A round trip at a brisk walk takes about 45 minutes. There is a pullup bar and a weighted squat machine near one end, and you can do stepups on benches. The scenery is nice and wild but you have a wide paved path from start to finish. You wont get lost if you just bear inward at all forks.

I love going to this trail. It is the perfect place to go for some exercise. The scenery is really nice too.

Nice little area to stroll around in when the weather is nice out. Lots of big pretty trees and bridges that cross over the creek. Kept smelling some delicious wild onions on my stroll. Made me hungry!
