Where has this been all my life? Movie and dinner at the same time?! Amazing. Movie and alcohol at the same time, even better. It’s also super affordable if you’re used to paying for dinner and a movie separately. The food is above average and on most occasions I’ve received excellent service. Go to studio movie grill. You won’t regret it.

Just had popcorn, no food. Drinks were good, seats were comfortable. Staff was courteous and quick. Will definitely be coming back.

I have been to studio movie grill 3 times now, every single time I had a bad experience. I honestly tried to give them a chance before writing a bad review, but they made it very hard for me to enjoy my experience. Honesty, if you want a good night out then go to a restaurant to eat first then to pretty much any other theater to watch a movie. The first 2 times we went we didn’t get our drink orders until 30+ minutes into the movie. Each time we’ve gone we’ve gotten there 20 minutes before the movie started and we placed our food orders and drink orders. Each time the movie was almost over when we finally got our food that was cold by the time they brought it to us. Not only that but my food order was wrong the last two times we went. I would also like to note that each time we have gone the theater wasn’t packed, it was actually pretty slow. The poor service was no excuse. It’s needlessly expensive for not so great food and poor service.

We bought advanced tickets for Deadpool, but after reading all of the extremely negative reviews across the web I decided not to go there. I went to their refund page over 2 hours before the movie(email says at least 1 is required), and it would not give me the refund. The submit button didn’t work. We tried on my mobile device, on google chrome(pc), and on internet explorer(same pc — Windows 10). I decided maybe it was Windows 10. Got on Windows 7 laptop. Again tried both Chrome and IE. Nothing. I try contacting the location. Talked to manager Greg who was actually very nice, but said website had to do it. I call the number for corporate which takes care of website. Not within business hours. Contacted via email. Got an immediate response which unfortunately was just a cut and paste of what I had ALREADYTRIEDMULTIPLETIMES. Now I’m angry. I reply back and tell them to re-read what I already typed. I have already told you that doesn’t work. So a supervisor emails me and tell me not to talk to her employee that way. BTW. I did not curse or anything. Just wrote in caps which apparently is enough to offend some people, I just want them to do their job. So they tell me to send them my debit card number and expiration date so they can issue me a refund. I did so, knowing that this is extremely insecure and a good way to get scammed out of my info. But did it anyway trusting they would do the right thing. Big mistake. Never heard from them again. I am assuming they will try to use my info for nefarious purposes because I typed in all caps to them. Do not bother ever using their website. If you run into a snag you will not be helped. Not by Victoria who is a Guest Services supervisor at any rate. Will be going to my bank tomorrow with copies of all the emails. Hopefully that will get me my money back. EDIT: Mike from Guest Services emailed me and told me it can take up to 10 days to get my refund back. That’s ridiculous!

We went there for first time last night. First ding was service took forever to take order. Second, the food came about 30 minutes into movie. Could really see well enough to eat. We both ordered the bacon cheese burger with sweet potato fries. The bottom bun disintegrated on first bite. That’s why eating in the dark was so hard. The sweet potato fries were ok. We also order pretzel bite appetizers. They came out with our cheese burgers, not before. They did get our Sundae right. It came about 30 min later and was good. We did the 2 for $ 25. I would say the food, sans the bottom bun, was probably a reasonable deal. Need to work on the service issues.

Worst service ever! I do not plan on going back. Servers were constantly in the way of our viewing area, we literally saw our waitress one time after waiting on her for 15 minutes just to take our order. She was not in the theatre the rest of the movie. We waited at least an hour for our food. We received our appetizers after our meal. We had to ask 3 different servers for drink refills before we ever got one. I dont think the waitstaff even paid attention to the call lights. The wait staff consistently bumped the back of our seats during the entire movie. After the movie was over it was a huge mess! There were dishes and trays stacked 3 high that we had to walk by to leave the theatre.

Much better pricing than the larger competitor down the road. The food is not over the top but would compare to Chilis or something like that. The food and drinks are decently priced but the seating and sound and theater just make for a great time.

I had a date night with my wife. We caught a late movie. We were told as soon as we sat down that they were giving last call in food and drinks. Seems like everyone wanted to get out of there. I ordered the beef fajita quesadilla. It was gross! I heard the food was good but don’t waste your money. Warm beer didn’t help. Sorry guys get your crap together

Awful, awful, awful. I read the bad reviews, but we decided to try our luck. We ordered food and appetizer at the same time. An HOUR later, we’d received nothing. So we pushed our call buttons, and a waitress came out and we asked what was going on– she seemed unconcerned, and said she was«sure it’s coming.» Twenty minutes later, we pushed the button again, since the movie was nearly over at that point. Our waitress came out and said she had«held the entrees, so they wouldn’t come out with the appetizers,» but we’d still not received either one. I told her to cancel our order, since the movie was almost over… She said the pretzels were ready, it was«next up,» and I agreed to have her cancel the entrees and just bring the appetizer. Yet another 20 minutes later, they started clearing plates and bringing checks to other customers. The movie was wrapping up, so my husband went out and told them to cancel everything. He spoke with the manager who apologized(helpful, but we’d prefer decent service instead) and showed him the ticket with only our drinks on it and all food removed since we didn’t actually get to eat anything. Ten minutes later, we received a ticket with the drinks ANDTHEAPPETIZER on it. They’d just showed him the correct ticket out in the lobby and then brought is the wrong one! So it’s two hours later, and we’ve missed a significant portion of the movie trying(unsuccessfully) to get food and pay for only what we received. We will never be back. Ever. Look Cinemas in Addison is an hour further than SMG, but has overstuffed leather recliners, delicious food, and fantastic service… We will continue driving out to Addison when we want a movie/dinner experience.

DONOT go to this location! Oh my gosh, the customer service here is terrible. When we walked in we were not greeted by the girl at the register. Then when it was time to go inside the theater the girl taking the tickets was so rude! She didn’t say one word, mind you, I’m visiting from out of town and don’t really know the theater.(I’m a faithful Alamo Drafthouse customer, so being told the directions to where my movie was would have been beneficial.) She didn’t say one word to me and just handed me the ticket. Then we ordered our food by someone named«J Fizzle»… She got our order wrong and the WORST part was we waited 1 hour and 42 minutes to receive a pizza and salad that never came. My fiancé had to go tell the manager and of course he offered free food that we did not take. I highly recommend going to Alamo Draft House if you want the«movie and meal» experience. They even took 20 minutes to get my little brother a refill on his drink. Just terrible. If I could give a negative star, I would.

It took nearly 30 minutes after I ordered to receive my food. My spinach dip and queso were cold when they arrived. Reasonable prices for the movies. Nice theater.

Theater is clean and nice but the service is horrible. It took over an hour to get drinks. We were in the theater 30 min before movie time. We had food long before drinks even Alot of people ordered and got food and drinks before us. We had to tell 4 different servers that we had not gotten drinks or silverware. Servers would stand in front of us instead of kneeling down to help the people in front of us blocking the screen.

The Studio Movie Grill is my favorite spot in East Texas to catch a movie. We’ve been twice and both experiences were outstanding! The ability to purchase your ticket in advance and choose your seats is a wonderful feature. The seats are very comfortable which is important because I’m a big guy. The servers were attentive and courteous, and they brought our orders out quickly. The food(coconut chicken tenders and shrimp one time and pizza the other time) was delicious, and the drinks had just the right amount of alcohol in them.

I have been twice now. My first time was at 1pm on a sunday. It was a new release and there were only 12 – 15 total people in the theater. Our fountain drinks took 15 minutes to get and our appetizer came out with our food. We had to ask 3 times to get a side a of ranch even though we asked for it when placing the order. Finally get it when the food was cold. Over all the taste of the food was good.(I was charged for the ranch that took so long to get) 2nd visit was on a Saturday night. Theater was 75% full. Fountain drink order still took 15 minutes to get. Food came out faster than exspected. It tasted good as well. Waitstaff was much better than on my Sunday visit. Chairs are comfy, foods good. But at just over $ 10.00 for a ticket this will not be my place to run to see a every movie.

I was a concerned about going here due to the terrible reviews. Fortunately, we had a great experience. The service was excellent. Thank you, Tim McGraw! We shared chicken strips plus chips and salsa. There were three good size pieces. We were disappointed that the sauce we ordered wasn’t a doing sauce. Instead the strips were drenched in it. It was tasty but not what we expected. Chips and salsa were good, too. Pricy though. BONUSINFO: there is no 30.06 posting! Awesome! It was very clean and comfortable. We were at the first showing of the day on a Sunday.

Food was great. Service… It’s ok, wouldn’t tip over 15% Drinks(better luck with smuggling your own stuff in) were poor quality. Some drinks were watered down(so was their tip), fountain drinks were off(syrup, carbonated water ratio) either too flat or no flavor. I’d stick with either water — since they love to drown everything in ice(even if you ask them not to), an unopened soda can or bottle of wine.

My husband and I bought our tickets online for the Friday night 8:00 showing of Jurrasic World in 3D. The server got to us quickly after we pessed our button, but that is where the efficient service stopped. I ordered a glass of wine, water and the Margherita Pizza. My husband ordered water and the California Burger. My wine came out quickly, but we had to ask two more times for water. Our food came out and still no water. We also did not recieve any napkins or silverware. By the time we did get water the movie was half over and a server had dumped half a glass of water in my husband lap. No napkins were brought to him to clean up. Our food was pretty good. My pizza could have been brought out hotter, but the taste was good. The movie it’s self was great and the servers did a great job of ducking down to not interrrupt the movie. We may try it again one more time, but service needs to be sped up. It shouldn’t take 45 minutes to get a water.

Have been to a couple SMG in Dallas. The new Tyler SMG is horrible. It must be the management, the theater was clean, and the movie showing was great. It ended there. Ordered 4 drinks while we were there, they got 2 of them wrong. Additionally it took 30 minutes to get the wrong beer, then it took 20 more to get it right. At 6 pm at night they were out of Cevechie? How hard is that to make? Anyrate, I won’t be back for a while. Until they are getting it right.

There is absolutely nothing I could possibly complain about. Granted, I’ve been in nicer movie grills(Muvico…Google it), but with the level of customer service, and actually the value, as compared to big city movie grill concepts, SMG Tyler gets 5 stars. Here’s a setup: Matinée for 3 of us, was $ 24. Food for 3 of us was $ 25, sans tax and tip. Not to mention, if you want a cocktail(full bar), beer, or wine, SMG is your place. In price comparison, you’ll spend $ 25 on stale popcorn, and 2 sodas at Carmike, or Town Center. Why not spend about the same, and enjoy actual food, versus concession garbage, and of course, you can have a beer here, unlike the competition. No brainer. The leather seats were comfy, and they actually have roomy aisles, which hardly no theater has these days. As mentioned in the 1st paragraph, the customer service is second to none. I look forward to returning. Soon.
