Good food. Love their green beans, fried chicken and sweet tea. The ½ price for second meal coupon is a great incentive. Always busy. Friendly staff. I will definitely return.

Very Average food and service. The atmosphere was very friendly. Wait staff were somewhat nice, in a hurry to get to next table served. Very disappointed that drinks were not served in mason jars, after all that is the name of place. For me once was enough.

My new FAVORITE restaurant! This must be one of those places the«locals» go. It is SO good! We had breakfast there. The corned beef hash omelet was the best I’ve ever had. The side potatoes were perfectly cooked too. Crisp outside, soft inside. Great pancakes too. Service was awesome. Food came out fast. Reasably priced. Love this place!

This was the first time we have tried this restaurant. I must say the customer service was amazing!! They certainly take a lot of pride in what they do. The food was hot and delicious. I think we finally found our new favorite breakfast spot.

I have no words to adequately express how much I love this place. I had been hearing about it for awhile and finally made it there today. It was 3pm and there was still a pretty decent crowd, so I suspected the locals knew something I didn’t.(I live less than 10 miles away but the Mason Jar is between Eustis and Umatilla, a route less traveled for me) I admit I like the Cracker Barrel but it is a little like the fast food of Country cookin’.(needs a little less corporate input and a little more bacon grease) Well, the Mason Jar is what you wished the CB could be. REAL country cookin, lots of daily specials, moist cornbread, beautiful biscuits and a choice of 3 sides(out of about 15, all made hot and fresh) The food was 5 stars — everything on both plates was EXCELLENT!(ESPECIALLY the chicken livers) I want to keep going back until I’ve tried ALL the daily specials, all the breakfasts and all the desserts. I’ll check back with you then.

Great country breakfast! If you happen to be in this rural area, you’ll love the service and the food! Great prices, real home town feel. Mostly because it is real home town! Loved it!

They probably have some items on their menu that are good but I didn’t seem to order any. The hot tea was a cheap, no name brand tea bag and they put extra water in a creamer container. I accidently poured more hot water in my already weak tea. Then I made the mistake of opening the metal creamer lid to see that the luke warm water was mixed with some creamer that had probsbly been left in there from earlier in the day. The roast beef was barely warm and the gravy just sat there like a clump of brown jello. The meat was boring and average at best. Publix deli roast beef might have had more flavor. I moved on to the mashed potatoes. They were good but again barely warm and a clump of gravy just sitting on top. The green beans were over cooked but probably one of the best things out of my whole meal. Overall I really didn’t think there was anything fabulous about this place but I really like the name.

Funny how the things you remember from your youth all too frequently fail to live up. The Mason Jar is a Lake County institution. I think, just… because. The prices are high. The food is just ok. And the service is fair. All in all, an underwhelming experience. Hate to say it, but Cracker Barrel is better. And I don’t love Cracker Barrel.

Stopped by the Mason Jar after bicycling in Ocala. This place is just like you expect it: your local, small town restaurant. Items come from a can, a lot of fried items, and decent service. Items were not greasy(like a lot of southern cooking) but they just had no great flavors. They did had a wide variety of cheap specials.

I went there for Sunday Brunch this past Sunday. I went for the all you can eat fried chicken. The chicken was over the top awesome! I also had the greens, mashed potatoes and mac and cheese as sides. The sides were a little cold but they were good. The service was great too even though the place was packed. If you are looking for a good home cooked meal, I would go here!
