The story of Golden Palace is so inspiring. Seeing how popular they’ve become is the true American Dream. My family, as well as many friends, all drive the hour from greater Hartford to this place whenever we feel a craving for dim sum. Whenever my friends visit, this is one of the places I make sure we hit in CT as a delicacy and a must-have for anyone who is a dim-sum goer. My friend from New York commented«Wow, you don’t even need to go to the city, you get the perfect dim sum here.» Whenever my family and I travel, my parents always compare it to Golden Palace, and other places don’t compare. Huge fans. The dim sum here is homemade and fresh. Though it’s not traditional cart style, it doesn’t need to be because the wait-staff is quick to getting your food on the table for you! My favorite dim sum items include the steamed rice roll with shrimp(perfect sauce!), pork shumai, chow fun with beef, chicken feet with black bean sauce, and pan fried noodles with seafood! Pretty much everything there is good! Whenever my family goes, in addition to dim sum we order mayonnaise walnut shrimp(posting a picture for better reference), fried chicken wings(which are moist and perfectly crisp), and crispy skin roast chicken(that’s at least the direct Cantonese translation). I have no doubt that the quality and taste of Golden Palace is worthy of five stars! Love this place, and I’m sure that after many years of coming here, myself and my family won’t be stopping any time soon!

They literally just offer the food wasn’t even hot. Might be someone’s left food. I order three times Peking duck. It’s just getting worse and worse. The third times not even half of the first time. Taste really just normal but it’s just disgusting eat cold food.

We came here for dinner and the service was very fast and attentive. The Candied Walnut Prawns came with broccoli were good. The Fried Boneless Duck was crispy and thick but the vegetables were unseasoned. The Pork Fried Rice had bean sprouts and had a slight burnt flavor. The restaurant and service were greater than the average dinner food.
This place was great!!! My favorite food was probably the coconut mango jello. It had so much flavor and was wonderful. I tried shrimp there for the first time and liked it a lot, an I don’t like seafood! I can’t wait to go there again.

I love Ping’s Golden Palace. I used to come here as a kid for Sunday night karaōke so I have a long varied history with this place. I figured out later in life that they have dim sum, which is not common in SE Connecticut. It is not the best dim sum I have had, but you can’t compare an Uncasville Chinese place to New York Chinatown standards. For nothing else like it around, it hits the spot. There were pretty much only Chinese people here for dim sum, which is always a good sign. What we don’t have a lot of in New York is good old American Chinese food. Sure, there are lots of take out places, but we are missing the Scorpion bowl, beef on a stick, pu pu platter Chinese food that I just crave sometimes. Duck sauce in a little dish? Fried, suspiciously unauthentic Golden Fingers? Meat on sticks? Yes, please! The bar is a funny little townie joint, which is a weird juxtaposition, but it somehow all comes together in a delectable little mess.

They have a wide selection on the menu They serve food till midnight and are open most Holidays. The bar opens at 4:00, its small and the bartenders are all nice and friendly. The lunch buffet is good and is always packed Any day of the week.

One of the best Dim Sum in US. Good, fresh and many varieties, more choices than many famous restaurants in Chinatown. Dinner was also excellent, fresh, very tasty, good portions and not expensive. Their roast duck was very tender with crispy skin, taste better than many other Chinese restaurants.

This place is small, family friendly, and diverse. The food is cheap but great– almost like Boston and NYC Chinatown quality!

Really wish this was closer but even though it is nearly 1 hour away I still venture to come here on a rainy cold day(explains how good it is…) The restaurant serves dimsum during the day which is what I came here for. Although the variety is limited, it still satisfied my occasional dim sum cravings. I love getting their congee(dark egg and pork). It comes in a huge bowl that serves 4 people easily. I also like getting rice noodle rolls and bean sheets wrapped with shrimp and pork. The service is fast and food comes in reasonable amount of time. Although the friendliness of service can use some improvement but I like that they are very laid back and we can finish our course undisturbed. I will remember to upload pictures next time I visit!

This place is «Eh» at best. Ordered the pu pu platter for the kids to enjoy. Comes w no grate over the flame so u can’t warm ur food. So u pay $ 17 for a flaming lazy Susan… I asked Waiter for the grate maybe it was forgotten. He had no idea. Plus the flame burned out in a few minutes. We ordered apps, drinks and entrée dishes. Everything arrived at once!!! No kids cups, food was mediocre at best. They have no idea how to make a Shirley temple. For gods sakes could the bartender use her phone to google it if ya have no idea??? Watched other patrons take their food home by packing it themselves into to go containers. Staff couldn’t even be bothered… We won’t b back.

H and I always come to this restaurant when BIL is having an inkling for dim sum. As far as I can tell, this is the only spot in SECT that offers dim sum. Like most places in this part of Conn., there’s plenty of private parking. Also, because it’s near Mohegan Sun, you have easy on/off access on route 32 and route 2A, and thus 395N/S. It’s not dim sum like you’d see in Boston or New York(with ladies pushing siu mai and haa gao via cart), but dim sum you order off a piece of paper and ordered a la carte. It’s not bad, it just makes the experience more difficult if you’re Cantonese and can’t read it for the life of you(mind you, if you miss dim sum hours in major cities, you’ll be ordering off a piece of paper, too!). Also, since you’re ordering off a piece of paper, you’re limited to its interpretation of ingredients/foods. Oftentimes, I get confused and order items I would not normally order, or forget an item I usually get because of lack of understanding. Because you’re ordering off paper, the food is always made fresh to-order. BUT, I will say that the food is pretty good. Like, it’s similar to how my grandmother used to make her dumplings and rice dishes. A meal for 5 cost less than $ 50 + tip. Not bad. I’ve never ordered anything off the takeout or regular dining menu. So I can’t attest to anything off those menus, but if you’re there for dim sum, you’re in for a real treat.

Guys the Golden Palace is the bomb. They have what I call«American Chinese food» and they have authentic Chinese food including DIMSUM. The dim sum is really, really good(and I’ve had dim sum in SoCal Chinatown and New York. it beats SoCal dim sum by a landslide.)

The service at this place is HORRIBLE! The restaurant isn’t the cleanest, you can see food splatter left on the walls. I had to wait at least 20 minutes before anyone stopped by to grab my order paper. They should really get with the program and get the dim sum carts. The food here is just okay. I’m overall not too impress with the establishment and won’t be coming back.

Not too bad for a dim sum place in Connecticut. Not as good as somewhere like New York but sometimes you have to compromise. No dim sum carts here. It’s a paper menu and pencil system. Mark the quantity to want beside the item and hand it to a server. Don’t worry, you can order more throughout your meal. Came on Memorial Day so the staff was fairly busy and not that accommodating. Not very talkative and were eager to move our dishes out of the way to make room for new ones. I did like their swiftness about collecting back our finished dishes. We ordered the …(Below I organized it similar to their menu for your convenience) Steamed Rice Roll: –Dried Shrimp… I am not a big fan of dried shrimp but this blended well together. Not bad. Steamed: –Golden Palace Shrimp Dumpling… Alright, isn’t as solid like other dim sums. Kinda fell apart I feel like it was steamed too long. –Pork Soup Dumpling –Crystal Dumpling w/Chinese Chives, Pork & Shrimp –Beef Tripe w/Ginger & Scallions… Very Good –Beef Tripe w/Turnip… Love it –Chicken Feet w/Chinese Herbs –Pickled Chinese Feet… was meh Deep Fried: Taro Dumpling w/Pork & Dried Shrimp… Not Good, more mushy than fried Minced Shrimp w/Dried Bean Sheet… Very Good, dipped in the shreds of lettuce and mayo on the side Pan Fried: Scallion Pancake… Okay, soft not crispy Noodles: Chow Fun w/Beef(asked for no bean sprouts)…Good Green Tea and Jasmine Tea… Good

The picture says all. Plus the service is bad too. I wont come back again. There is a Cockroach on the bottom of our Dim Sum. Called the waiter, they did not say anything and did not apologize.

Definitely had better, but there isn’t really much options for Chinese in Connecticut. Food took a bit to come out too.
