I’ve been coming here since I was a child. I’m now almost 33. I thought that, since I grew up on their food, I might just prefer the taste since it’s pretty much the only place I went to growing up. NOPE! As an adult I now have eaten at dozens of Chinese restaurants and can still attest to the fact that there’s still the best. I have always ordered their wings, BBQ spare ribs, crab rangoon, rice, egg rolls, teriyaki, Singapore lo mein and, my favorite, the spicy beef rolls. ALL are better than from any other place I have tried! Not only that but any time we have company over and go for takeout– I bring them to King Wah and they have the same reaction. Their food is just insanely amazing!

Really good food. It’s quick and hot. Fresh and the people who work there are very friendly. It’s good if you want something cheap and fast, without the fast food taste.

I miss King Wah. It’s just that simple. They have been in business since 1986. I’ve been going there since 1994. In December of 2013 me and my family moved to Texas to rid ourselves of the Nor’easters, taxes, etc. That being said there are a very few things that we miss. King Wah is one of those very few things. We have watched the owners’ children grow up before our eyes as they did of our children. We can’t find that«New York/New England» style Chinese food down here in the Dallas area of Texas. We can find good BBQ and Tex-Mex all day long. But those King Wah wontons. egg rolls, and spring rolls… no can do. Wonton soup is awesome. Beef and broccoli is awesome. Wife misses the chicken and broccoli big time. House special fried rice… OMG. It’s amazing. Fried chicken wings, damn! I know it’s stupid to say something that I’m about to say but one of the very few reasons to go back up to that area and visit is to walk into King Wah, shake the owner’s hand. and grab some Chinese food that we came to love.

Decent Chinese food for take out. I recommend calling ahead. I’ve never been disappointed with the few items I order primarily: sesame chicken, Singapore Noodles(mei fun), wonton soup, and spring rolls.

Awesome. The wonton soup is where its at. A quart full to the top with wontons and some broth. Other places in the area give you 80℅ broth. All set.

Unilocal needs zero star button. All I ordered was steak teriyaki, with white rice. Halfway thru eating I felt my stomach drop, and stopped. I never get indigestion, gas, or heartburn. That night I got so sick. From 3am to 11am I spent in the bathroom struggling to move from puking into the toilet to, well you get the picture. I’ve never been sick like this before. I went in a day later to let them know their food was making me ill, the lady pandered down to me and acted like she knew no English. They do not care. This place uses child labor, and is a day care for the kids too young to work. If you did want to eat in the store, you would have to ask children working on homework to move. Seriously, eat at your own risk.

The food was fresh and made to order. The dinner combinations were extremely inexpensive for what you received.(Entrée, pork fried rice, an egg roll) My husband ordered Kung Pao Chicken and I had the General Tso’s chicken, we also ordered crab rangoons. Overall, the food was what you would expect from a Chinese restaurant in the NorthEast. I doubt I will go back just because we both ordered spicy dishes and they were fairly bland. My husband’s Kung Pao chicken just tasted plain, no punch at all. The rangoons had plenty of crab, but none of the cream cheese. I think I’m going to try another place, but this one is good for an inexpensive lunch.

Good Chinese take out. Can’t beat the lunch specials. Look, you just don’t walk into a Chinese take out and look for healthy food. Is it greasy and salty? Of course! But not more than you expect. They serve good portions and are friendly. Would come again.

My local take out place in Norwich. The lunch portions are large and reasonably priced, combos are the way to go. I have been coming here for 16 years, the same folks have been working here the whole time. Getting a large chicken and rice soup when I need a cold relieving soup is a must. The hot and sour does contain chicken, though. I thought it was strictly supposed to be a tofu-mushroom thing.

I think this is the best Chinese take out in Norwich. Spicy beef rolls are the menu’s hidden gem. Lunch specials are reasonably priced and good portions. There are a few tables to eat in but as busy as the take out gets, it’s not very comfortable. Everything is «10 minutes» but if there a lots of orders at once it gets backed up. Family run and generations working there, I love it!!!

Very good chinese good, meat isnt fatty and the seasoning on everything is great. it looks like a little hole in the wall that wouldnt have good food, but its worth stopping. i have had better though so i wont go 5 with it, also i dont like their sweet and sour sauce and their lo mein is average. however their crab rangoon and terriyaki beef is the best you can get in the norwich area.

Good takeout chinese food, always seems pretty busy. Food isn’t overly greasy which is important to me and tofu and steamed not crisp fried. No brown rice though.

I have always liked their Hot & Sour Soup, as have others. However, their fried rice is greasy,& full of frozen veg, rather than fresh bits. As w/all of our local Chinese, I would lke to see more REAL Chinese dishes(even just long beans!) on the menu.

A friend suggested King Wah’s to me 6 years ago for yummy take out. Not only was it delicious and tasty, the family is very polite. They NEVER mess up an order, even though you see them working back there you’d think how do they keep every order straight… Organized Chaos I suppose I hardly go anywhere else for take out…

I was sick with this annoying little cold thats been taking the area by storm and all I wanted was a big bowl of hot and sour soup. Now, as simple as this may sound I can assure you that because I live in Norwich CT, it’s impossible… or so I had thought. I was browsing recent reviews in my area when I happened upon a review by one Edwin P in which he states in the very first paragraph«First things first. King Wah has AMAZING hot and sour soup. Tastes better than most chinese restaurants in Chinatown.» Now that’s a tall claim, especially coming from someone who gave Golden Palace Chinese Restaurant 5-stars. I gave Golden Palace Chinese Restaurant 1-star. Quite a disparity in judgements there. Thankfully my friend Jim S. also weighed in on King Wah with 4-stars so It was going down like… Chinatown. I ordered a large hot sour and the chicken w/broccoli for pick up so, I cant comment on service accurately. Well, I have to say, Edwin P. was right. That soup was delicious and in fact did contain many of the ingredients a good hot and sour should contain, not ruined by trying to appeal to Americans. The chicken and broccoli was also delicious, just as Jim S. had mentioned. All in all a great meal. I just wish they delivered! Come on!

My family and I have been eating here for 20 years at least. We keep trying other places on occasion but always come back here. Our standard order is Fried Won Ton(12 for 1 order), Chicken Fingers(8), Chicken & Broccoli & Random Item from menu. After ordering Fried Won Tons from this place I’ve apparently been spoiled. I keep ordering these at other places and it’s just a fried Won Ton, like a potato chip. Not so with King Wah. Their fried Won Tons are a great contrast in texture. There is a moist, tender & flavorful ground sausage & spices mixture inside and then a crunch, crispy won ton skin wrapped around it. So tasty. BTW, it comes with a side of their sweet & sour sauce(yum) but I’ve moved on from that to dipping them in soy sauce. The Chicken Fingers also come with the sweet and sour sauce which just makes them all the better. The pieces are about 6 inches long with a plenty of perfectly cooked moist and tender chicken surrounded by a thick batter that is moist on the inside and crisp on the outside. The Chicken & Broccoli is cooked just the way we like(This order also comes with a side of perfectly cooked rice). Chicken is of course sliced thin, about the size of a quarter to half dollar. Very tender and moist. The broccoli is tender crisp. As for the sauce. It’s just sooo flavorful and complimentary to the meat and vegetable. My wife once asked what they put in the Chicken & Broccoli sauce to make it so good that we crave it. Cocaine they replied. We laughed and thought, yep, it IS pretty addicting. You pretty much can’t go wrong here. BTW, they are really friendly and efficient. Figure on a bit of a wait during dinner time Thursday through Sunday. The only reason I didn’t give it that one last star is because of the pork, it’s just not tender enough for me. If I could only hold back half a star that would be more fair.
