Comida Uruguaya muy rica… The empanadas were delicious and the meat was perfect. Love how they make it

I went there again, this time with a a group on Friday 10÷9÷15. Though I was late due to horrific traffic, they kept my reserved table. Started off with some morcilla, chorizo and mollejas with chimmichurri to start, all cooked perfectly and very good quality«rioplatense» sausages, not some Italian sausage they try pass off as chorizo. The pizzas were a fugazetta(Figaza on their menu) with cheese and green olives which came«al tacho» or «al molde»(round thicker dough) which I didnt even know they made because it came al palo last time I went there., it was cooked perfectly and one mouth full and I was transported in my mind back to Argentina to the best pizzarias like La Piedra in Puerto Madryn. Although not on the menu(because they are Uruguayan I assume) an Argentine style pizza with ham, roast peppers, green olives and hardboiled egg, which they really need to add to the menu because it was awesome! It came«al palo» or elongated in an oval shape cooked to perfection. Of course I had to order their wonderful faina to eat with the pizza(a uniquely River Plate(the region, not the best soccer team in South America) thing. For dessert we split the torta chaja and flan with dulce de leche. The chaja was the hands down winner. Our waitress was attentive and very accommodating so we left her a little over 20% tip on a bill that was around $ 77 for 5 people, not bad at all. I hope they buy the building so they dont loose their lease like my previous favorite pizzeria Il Mundo della Pizza on park Ave.

All I can say is «WOW» Not only is the food fantastic authentic Uruguayan cuisine, but the staff is super friendly ready to give you not only a great lunch/dinner, but also an excellent dining experience. I don’t write many reviews, but Pizzara’s is definitely a pizzeria/restaurant that deserves one. I believe this is the best pizza and milanesa I’ve had here in the U. S. Great job!!!

Good food but a bit pricey. I usually get the chivito platter YUMMY. The place is small but cozy, very family oriented and the service is great!..

«Hidden treasure!!!» I was visiting the local award winning high school(UCHS) when one the other teachers took us to this little haven of South American cuisine. Every plate we order was delicious. We ate a Chivito both in the platter and sandwich version. Both were outstanding. Another of our group ordered Cannelones Mixtos, one vegetarian(spinach) and the other meat. They were stuffed crepes covered by two sauces. One a tomato base(Tuco) and the other a cream sauce. Once again, «OUTSTANDING!» The fourth person had Short Ribs(Asado de Tira) which came with potato salad(Ensalada Rusa). The Chimmichuri(parsley base sauce) was the most authentic, best tasting I have ever had, I could not stop eating it as a spread on bread. Believe me, I have had some horrible Chimmichuri!!! I asked if they bottled it, but they said it was the owner recipe and that they only made it for their use. «MISTAKEONTHEIRPART!!!» Well to top it off, we decided to order some desserts. I had a Cortadito Uruguayo(mini café con leche) the rest had espresso’s. Our desserts were ridiculously good. We order two to share, one a Chaja(a mini cake with peaches and dulce de leche covered by crushed merengue) the other the house special(not on menu) which was they stuffed Crepes with Dulce de Leche then they cover with carmelized bananas then top that off with a scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream, «WOW», is all I can say!!! This place is located in the wrong place! If this restaurant was in Manhattan it would win every culinary award there is to give. The owner Beatriz is the nicest person, you can see they really care for their customers. Oh almost forgot, while we waited, everything is made fresh to order, they brought as a treat, some of their Uruguayan pizza and another type called Faina, which is made of chickpea flour imported from India to put on top. Delicious!!! Best pizza I have had in a long time. Unique is the best way to describe. What a culinary delight this little place is(40 seat) and to top it of it’s a BYOB. We will definitely be back and with friends.

I only tried the pizza so can’t speak for anything else. Ordered a large pie for delivery. Service was good, friendly and pretty quick. However this is NOT a round pizza pie as also mentioned in other reviews. They do not make traditional round pies. This is like a piece of flat bread cut in rectangles like pizza snacks. I didn’t really care for it overall. They might have other interesting items so I’ll give a try for something else but will not order pizza here again.

This is personally my favorite pizza place in Union City. The pizza has a homemade style that makes it very different that most places. It looks like they serve a variety of food here but I love their pizza so much that I have to admit I simply go for their plain pie every time.

we were looking to go out to eat something light with the kids. tired of Domino’s, we wanted something different. I passed thru this place all the time and always see people inside. We decided to give it a try. My kids are pizza lovers, we ordered one to split, half plain for the kids and the other half with some toppings for us. When the pizza came, it was a 3 foot long!!! Surprised by the size and quality, we ate slowly and really had a good time. The pizza is not saucy at all, the right amount of cheese, toppings all over. Really good pizza and different from the others. They serve it cut in small rectangles, they look like snack slices, but without paying attention, you get 5 – 6 pieces easy… no cards accepted, so bring cash. Next time, we will try other things from the menu, but if we consider the pizza quality, no questions about the rest.

arrogant euro-centric south-americans. i’m of a spanish speaking background too, so please don’t take this as a slur. i really don’t care how good their food may be. lose the ‘tude folks, or you won’t get my bux. it’s that simple.

Wow! This place is awesome! The service is good and the food is great. I have had everything on their menu and there is not one thing there that is not delicious. I have recommended this place to all my friends. The desserts are out of this world. If you have not gone to Pizzarra’s you must go. Once you go once you will be there all the time. Most important of all they are so clean.

I have been there twice, I had the pizza, the chivito, the spinach pie, the flan and chocolate mousse and everything was delicious. The decoration is all Uruguayan and the owners are so nice, this place is my new favorite spot!

Just a most wonderful dining experience. From the homey comfortable atmosphere, to the very friendly staff(server Nicole is just lovey). The pizza was the absolute best we have ever had! Going back this week for a second visit already, it was really that good. A taste of Uruguay we had never experienced.

Uruguayan pizza is very tasty. The only thing that is done before you order is the bread. Sauce, cheese and toppings are added before it goes into the over. The result, it tastes very fresh and really good. Unlike other pizzerias where the pizza sits on display all day long. I’ve only had one other thing here, which was the Churrasco a la Uruguaya. Its a churrasco steak served with french fries and topped by sunny side eggs. Pretty good if you have a taste for beef. The place inside is smallish. Could fit 2 or 3 groups of 6, and has several smaller tables around. The staff is very friendly and will explain whatever dish you have a question about. They also have pastries. The rice pudding is a little less sweet than you will find in other restaurants, but it is very good nonetheless. Will update when I try other dishes.

Been here a few times now and it’s always good. The steak is awesome so are the chivitos and its nice to have a latin place that could make a salad. Even though they have pizza in their name, I prefer the rest of the menu.
