Finished my weekend with good food in Tayyibat. Correct place for the kabobs and meat lovers. Especially chicken Tikka kabob. Highly satisfied with the service.

= =Tayyibaat Meat and Grill sells fresh Halal meat. grills burgers, roasts chickens, grills meats with chilis on a kabob. most tikka and kabobs uses chiis eats: chicken wrap(7,99) –bland, tasteless schredded chicken with equally bland rice, salad. sauce mild. slight chili presence. sriracha packets and green sauces included with wrap. –large wrap, slightly fulfillng take outs: –wouldn’t return since i prefer natural taste, not chiled, srirached –sign menu hard to read since it’s keep flashing on and off for attention. hand bill also on counter. –quick, courteous service, quick to answer when i asked for a «gryo, shwarma, wrap» chicken wraps under rotesserie chicken. –chicken touted as :“perfect”., schredded chicken wasn’t

This place is best for halal food, the kabobs were nice especially the burgers were awesome. This guys sell fresh meat as well, the quality of meat is worth every single penny. The fries and bakhlava are yummy, good customer service as well. I recommend atleast once everyone who loves meat should try this place, will definitely step into this place again n again.

After reading the great reviews and having a hunger for meat and mid-eastern food, I walked into this place. What a mistake! I picked out what I wanted and ordered it at the register. There were plenty of seats but I was in a hurry so ordered it take out. I asked how long the wait would be and she said 45 minutes. Wait! What? I had to repeat what she said because I wasn’t sure I heard her right. I only ordered chicken kabobs and rice. She said, yes, it will be 45 minutes. We have a lot of customers. Then she pointed to the dining room which was small and 40% full, at the most. I said forget it, turned around, and left. I went next door to Popeyes for a nice greasy chicken dinner. I love their chicken and biscuits. Saved a lot of money and my hunger was quenched.

I really love the food here but never had tried the famous oven roasted chicken since they sell out of it so quick. This time I made a point to call and place my order early in the day to pick up later in the evening. I was having guests over for dinner and ordered 2 oven roasted chickens. I arrived to pick up my order, everything was packed and bagged so I didn’t think of opening the bag, worried that it might get cold. I paid and left. $ 28 for 2 chickens alone — with no rice or anything. Ridiculous. I come home and open the bag and to my horror — found 2 burnt little chickens. I was devastated and embarrassed. It was too late to go back as it was late and everyone was starving so I tried to hide and cover the burnt chicken with cilantro. Half of the chicken was inedible. So very disappointed.

Been to this place when I was in Hayward. I was short on time and extremely busy, so I called them to place my order so that I can just walkin and pickup my order. They took my order. It took me 20 mins to get there. As I reached, I go to the pickup counter to pick my food. Apparently the food was not ready and I paid my bill. Had to wait additional 30 mins to get my order and all of this when I was the only customer in the restaurant for most of the time. It seems that they did not start my order until I came there and paid the bill, if they do not trust their customers then they should not accept orders over the phone. BTW due to the time taken at this restaurant I had to miss out on a very important appointment. As for food, they got my order wrong, after repeating my order over the phone several times and then repeating my order at the billing counter as well. I realized this their mistake after leaving the place. Very bad customer service. Definitely not good for to-go service.

I find it amusing that this place that serves halaal chicken, which is anti-hormone/antibiotic, humanely raised, is right next door to a Popeye’s. Popeye’s chicken may be the antithesis of halaal chicken. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge. But nice addition to the already plentiful Afghan fare we have out here in the tri-city area. The set up is more divey and counter service versus sit down. But the food still rocks, which is 80% of my satisfaction. Plus even though there is no table service, the employees still ask how your experience was, thus showing positive goodwill. The Goodz: Their Chili Kabobs are good. They are your choice of meat, beef, lamb or chicken. It is ground meat, mixed up with afghan seasonings and mixed like meatloaf but grilled like a kabob. They are really flavorful, really garlic-y and bold. Great with their basmati rice. They also have a bomb ass rotisserie chicken here. Availability may be an issue, as I got the last order around 7pm one night. But it is really legit and good. First they use halaal meat which is a plus. Then they rub it with a super tasty, bold rub that is both slightly salty, spicy and sweet. Kinda like an afghan bbq rub. Then it is slow roasted to mouth watering juiciness. I’ll take this over any grocery rotisserie any day. Trust. They are operated as a halaal butchery(other location) that outlets some of its product to these small grills(other location in Milpitas). So if you’re into halaal meats, you can get some here from their cold case. If you want something more special like goat meat or larger quantities, place an order so they can get it with their delivery. Just pick it up later. And the prices are great for locally raised meat, done with minimal processing. This is an asset resource to have. The Just Okayz: Their lamb and beef kabobs are good. But when you have De Afghanan on speed dial, it just makes most others seem average. Here the meats are similarly marinated but the chunks are a little smaller. So the final texture is a little bit drier/cooked. Still not bad though. Even though I like their basmati rice which is 60% of their plate equation, I find it a little off. I prefer De Afghanan where they serve it simply slightly salted and white. Here they use a bold dose of whole cumin to the mix, so there is a strong presence. Maybe I just prefer a stronger contrast between meat and starch. But I still eat my whole plate here, especially with the tomato salsa condiment and green yogurt sauce. Its just different from my preference. They’re new but I’m feeling they may do well in this spot. So far I’ve seen a pretty strong Afghan customer patronage. I’ve seen the elder citizens wearing traditional garb, sitting next to the younger generation wearing hip hop gear. Yet they all are here for the food. I’d say that is a good start.

We came here on an impromptu date night on Friday, February 5th. My husband and I ordered the hummus, a lamb chili kabob plate and a chicken tikka plate. Everything was delicious! The chicken was so moist and flavorful, but my husband’s lamb plate was amazing! I’m getting that for myself next time. It wasn’t as «spicy» as I thought it would be. They are extremely generous with the rice. If I tried to eat the entire plate of rice, I would probably crawl up in a ball and fall asleep in my car… but I did try to finish it. Oh how I love rice! They also do raw meats, and carry goat meat and steaks! Definitely need to check that out next time. A lot of customers came in to pre-order raw meat and their prices were pretty reasonable. Tayyibaat definitely requires another visit. The food was good and they are conveniently located.

The food is really good in Milpitas, and this store is following suit. The service is quick, food is good, customer service is on par. My favorite dish is the chicken chili kabob paired with a classic coke bottle. Rotisserie chicken is probably the most popular dish. I’d definitely order that for when family comes over or you have a party.

Just went there tonight for the first time. Order at the counter(drinks are in the fridge), get your own silverware & napkins, and they bring it to your table. The meat was spicy and flavorful. Lamb kabob was tender and cooked perfect medium rare. Great flavors also in the chili chicken, maybe a little heavy on the turmeric. The salad was a simple thing of diced tomato, cucumber and red onion; it could have been more appealing if the tomato was not an anemic pink. Meat was served over a bed of long grain rice with sumac and a side of yogurt mint sauce, and Afghan naan. They sell their prepared meat by the pound as well. I’m definitely coming back.

Forgot to mention: Take caution with the salad that comes on the side with the plate of food– it has diced jalapeño peppers mixed in it. My taste buds died after biting into a spoonful… had no idea it was even in there. I really thought the chef messed up my order when I told the server I didn’t want any peppers in my kabob. They were nice enough to not charge me for the yogurt drink to cool down the fire raging in my mouth and they wanted to give me a baklava on the house. I was so full from the food and drink that I had no more room.

For kabobs, it’s no De Afghanan but is still a good addition to Union City. What I liked here a lot was the FALAFELWRAP. It’s SOSOSO much better than the average falafel wrap that’s usually dry and encased in stiff lavash bread. Tayyibaat’s falafel wrap is more like a falafel burrito. In it, you will find chopped up falafels, rice, tomatoes, onions and lots of sauce. You get an additional yogurt-based sauce on the side and a packet of sriracha, but you almost don’t need it. The wrap is more like a tortilla – soft and chewy – and wraps naturally around all the contents so there isn’t any extra space. I tried the Lamb Chili Kabob(ground meat) which wasn’t that flavorful and slightly dry. Food takes a long time to come out. In the time I was waiting for my food, I walked to Bambu, ordered a drink, brought it back, and almost finished it. There was only 1 – 2 orders before mine so I don’t know why it took so long.

I’ve been here two occasions, both were for the roasted chicken wrap for to-go. I remember having it the first time, and it blew me away. The chicken was so moist and they gave me this orange creamy sauce that was quiet spicy but very delicious with it. I remember I was so full but couldn’t stop eating it because it was so good. I was craving it again and decided to grab some for dinner for my boyfriend and I. However, this time we both were very disappointed. They didn’t have that creamy orange sauce this time. They told me they don’t have that at all. Strange. They only had the yogurt sauce and when I was asking for the creamy orange spicy sauce, they gave me some hot sauce. Both were NOT what I remembered ever having. Brought them home, excited to take a bite only to be disappointed. The chicken was dry and it was hard to eat. My boyfriend found lots of chicken bones in his and lost his appetite. We barely ate it and threw both away. Was still hungry.):

I like their Chicken Tikka Kabob. It has a a nice, fresh chicken feel to it. Their rice comes in a large portion(which I’m big on) and their tomato/cucumber/onion side is simple, yet refreshing. Does have a «good quality meat» feel. I’m not a big fan of their chili kabobs. I feel they’re too heavy and too salty(probably because of it’s ground meat properties). Their burgers are okay, but i really do feel i can get those anywhere. However, they do have Halal bacon(beef bacon). I’m not a Halal meat person, but i can imagine that might be big for someone.

Came fairly early on a Sunday morning to order as soon as they opened which is 11 according to the website. I arrived maybe a few minutes after 11 and saw the door open but the sign not lit. We still walked in and we were greeted with a warm welcome. We ordered a couple items(Beef Chili Kabob and Chicken Tikka Kabob) to feed both the bf and me as well as my mom as it was to help celebrate her birthday. I like to give my moms some different food outside the typical chinese, japanese, filipino that she typically gets. Well let’s just say it took a long while to get our order and maybe it was because they JUST opened. We finally got our food at 11:20. It gave me time to call an order ahead to King Calamari as we waited. The food itself was sizeable. The beef chili had a nice spicy kick to it and something my mom had to stay away from as she doesn’t have much tolerance for the spicy foods. I liked that there was like a pico de gallo type of side along with the yogurty dip and bread. The only thing with the beef was that it was quite dry. The chicken tikka was a little better but still could have been more moist. The inside was much roomier than their Milpitas location. The interior décor a bit rustic modern which is a little weird but eh, I’m all for it. Would I come back? Not really since we’re closer to the Milpitas location. Also I feel that the quality was a bit better there. Otherwise it’s nice to have that option among all the asian food in that plaza.
