We stopped going to McDonald’s for breakfast because this place has a better«sausage mcmuffin.» The owner is very friendly too. He always interacts with our kids and always remembers what they order.

Hidden gem. Got hooked on spicy teriyaki chicken with white rice. Been going here for years always satisfied.

Been going here since I was in middle school and I would always get a number 1 and a donut before school for about $ 5. The breakfast sandwich I get has sausage, bacon, cheese and scrambled eggs between two english muffins and it’s pretty big with a lot of eggs for the price you pay. I only go here for breakfast but they also offer other deli sandwiches, Chinese food, and donuts. The owners are super nice and friendly as well! Support your local businesses!

Just had a sandwich from here and for the price it was decent, 5 bucks, but a bit small for 190 pound man. What I didn’t like, was I asked for American cheese on both my sandwiches and the older gentleman making the sandwiches put swiss on them, no big deal. I corrected him and he acted as if he had misheard me, he brought out a huge brand-new 200+ pack of american sliced cheese, opened it and put a couple slices on each of the sandwiches. It just made me feel like it was a bit sneaky since he remembered everything else about the details of the two sandwiches. It was like he didn’t want to open the fresh pack of cheese for my sandwiches, which in itself isn’t very hospitable. Further more, it didn’t make any sense seeing how it wasn’t even noon yet and he should be making at least a few more sandwiches before the days end that very possibly would call for american cheese for the lunch crowd. I’m sure he would swear it was an honest mistake, but to me it was just too coincidental and seemed a bit sneaky. That’s just not a trait I want somebody preparing my food to possess. It just makes me wonder about their decisions on all aspects of the food they’re serving. Also, he was not behind the counter when I walked in but in the eating area; when he got behind the counter to prepare my sandwiches, I didn’t notice him wash his hands or put on disposable gloves. Needless to say, I wont be eating at this deli again.

Love this place. They are genuine and sweet people, plus the food is super delicious. The pepper steak and breakfast sandwiches are bomb.

Great place for breakfast sandwiches! This is a small, tidy, family owned place. I only go in the morning for the breakfast sandwiches, which are great! If you’re about to get a sausage mcmuffin from McDonald’s or any other fast-food, you might as well come here and have a legit one. Usually has two people manning the counter and kitchen, but these are usually made fast. Both people are really friendly and recognize returning customers and spark a little conversation if they can. Things to note: I only come here for breakfast. They have Chinese food, which I’m sure can’t be bad, but I’ve never ordered. This place is cash only. This place is small! Not really a dine-in spot. Only reason this isn’t four stars is that i haven’t had the Chinese food, which is a majority of the menu. They also have donuts and other baked goods. I highly encourage doing business here to help small businesses in Union City, Nawmsayin’?! Nothing fancy, but a nice little mom n pop spot.

We tried their chocolate glazed yeast donuts from the New Haven Education Foundation Bubbles of Fun Run. They were awesome! Big and fluffy but moist and little dense. It had a great texture! After eating one I had to get on Unilocal!right away and find out more about this place! There are no hours listed but I read in other reviews they seem to be open from 6 am to about 2. I wonder if they are open Sunday though because I need more donuts:)

It sucks that they close at open from 6am to 330pm but when I’m in Union City I make sure to stop here.

Hole in the wall! Donuts & Deli & Chinese food. I’ve had only the chinese food so far, chow main & curry. The noodles are perfect, not too firm or soft. The meat is the best part. I’ve ordered the beef. The beef is very tender & very lean. Fat & chewy gristle freaks me out! The portion size is good for the price. Addictive! We’ve been picking-up once or twice a week! We always call ahead, but when we just show up it’s quick!

Every time I go there, I always order the lemongrass chicken, and substitute the rice for chow mein. This is my favorite dish on their menu, and I would give it a 4 stars, but the husband and wife that runs the place here are very nice and kind, therefore, I’m bumping my review up to 5 stars :)

I was craving«dinner food» @ 6am when I got off work and saw the open sign and chinese food on the window. So I came and asked for some fried rice and it was actually really good!!! Cooked to order and a huge portion on the cheap! The couple running the show were all smiles… goin back when I get off work, its only been a week.

I got sausage, egg, cheese muffin breakfast without bacon(~$ 3) and my dad got Kung pao chicken over rice(~5). I enjoyed my breakfast but I don’t think I’m the hugest fan of sausage. Next time, I’m definitely trying one of the sandwiches with Dutch crunch! Yum :) My dad really enjoyed his Kung pao. Of course, he saved a few chicken pieces for his dog(don’t worry, he rinsed it with water). The guy who works there was sweet and nice. I love little mom and pop shops like these! It’s so close to my house too! TIP: Bring cash!!!

I’ve been coming to this sweet lil’ mom and pop’s donut shop since kindergarten and the experience is still the same. I come here mainly for their sandwiches. They use home-made Dutch Crunch bread which always satisfies my crave; it’s crunchy, sweet, and soft. Banana peppers and a pickle on the side add a nice touch. Their Chinese dishes are also yummy and large-portioned. I love their chicken Teriyaki over rice. «Pink box» donuts are made fresh daily. I’m a huge fan of the cinnamon twist, sugar coated raised, and maple raised. Also, prices are relatively cheap. Their hours are only for breakfast or lunch. Come early!

Have driven by this place for years and always thought they were closed. Finally went there today to check it out since I read they are a good option for breakfast. Got some glazed donuts. They were huge but sorry… not as good as Krispy Kreme though I was cheering for the smaller mom and pop shop.

I wonder how this place manages to make their lease/mortgage. Last time I went here, it had to have been a couple of years. I happen to be nearby, and had a craving for doughnuts. I was sick and tired of acquiring diabetes from Krispy Kreme, so I thought I’d give this place a try. There is something about their glaze. It’s so frickin’ good. If you are going to try one thing for breakfast, get their glazed doughnut. Not the chocolate, nor the sugar-coated, just plain old original glazed. You will be salivating afterwards. And little did I know it, I was reaching for a second, and trying not to get a third doughnut. D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S!!! I haven’t tried any of their deli sanwiches or Chinese dishes, but their doughnuts are hands-down the best I’ve had. But I tried going again a week later for an afternoon delight, and they were closed. And they had this sign where they were only open from 6AM to 2PM. They must be getting by, seeing that their schedule caters to themselves, and not to their customers. So note to self: if in the mood for doughtnuts, those are the times. Went again for another time. This time, it was more of a late morning, close to bruch. I wanna say it was about 1030 in the morning. And to my surprise, they were almost out of the glazed. I had asked if they were going to be making more aanytime soon. And they said«No, it takes 3 hours to make.» That’s when I started putting things together. For them to open up shop at 6AM, they have to start making the doughtnuts sometime before that. And for them to close early… how do they make their monthly profits? Oh well, as long as it’s open, and the doughtnuts are there, I’ll be waiting. You definately deserve all 5 stars for your doughnuts. But such an inconvenience with your business hours.

So far I’ve gone here only once, but I definitely intend on going again. This might be the first review I’ve ever written; I’ve made this account of mine long before ever since I’ve Unilocal’ed, which is like since the beginning of time. Anyway I figured to leave a review for once because this place only seemed to have just one other review D: What a lonely review. Basically I found this place while I was out running. I saw the menu and noticed the prices were VERY inviting(less than 5 $ for almost everything on the menu!) I also noticed that it was in an area that nobody would go to for restaurants — more of a residential area than a commercial area… In either case, the restaurant was clean and the prices were great so I figured I invite my friends to lunch over there sometime. We went on a Saturday at noon(today, for the curious folk o. o). I ordered the most expensive breakfast item(~3.75!!) — a breakfast sandwich with sausage, egg, bacon and cheese. It was made fresh. This was probably the best breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had. Ever. But don’t expect something fancy — it was just very well made, imho. Imagine a really really well done McMuffin, and that’s what I got. My friends were equally impressed. Two of them also got breakfast sandwiches. Another one got Mongolian beef(did I mention that they serve Chinese/American/Breakfast?). The Mongolian beef was pretty large for what you pay. And even after finishing all of it, he kept eating the sauce o. o I asked him why. He replied, «because the sauce is spicy and it’s really good.» Oh, and the owner(?) was really nice. Being a Saturday, it seems he had family over; maybe he has his family over all the time. Not sure. In either case they seemed very sweet. The only complaints I have are: 1. nobody knows about this place D: and I think more people should start coming. 2. I suppose the owner didn’t ask me if I wanted my order to go or for here, because I had planned to eat it there but they gave me my sandwich in a paper bag. That is all. Definitely plan to make another visit to UC Deli: D
