Every day I look at the house I am struck by the omissions, particularly keen is that bill did not address the property as a whole and included no porch or stair or external design. In this area a porch and squally screened in is a must have. In the design he presented he kept saying he’d take care of things so we went along… which of course would have required more hours of billing from him and change orders for the contractor he seems to be in league with. As a result the doors have no cover and I had to get the second contractor to add on some stairs to even get into the kitchen door. The omissions in his design and the service he provided fall far short of what should and could be expected. I was in too much of a hurry and regret not looking further for a different architect. The person who recommended him now says she regrets this and is working with another architect and recommending same. Some unscrupulous business practices as well. He engaged the inspection group for the insulation, telling me they charged 500. He wanted to get a check saying he had paid them and wanted to be reimbursed. Later when the inspection company contacted me saying they wanted to be paid the 450 bill I directed them back to McCullough for collection. Fortunately I had labelled the check as reimbursement for this company in detail. So he charged 50 for being the go between, which was never stated and unnecessary but then seemingly intended to keep the money toward the rest of his bill for services not provided.
