Really cool spot. The muffins are AMAZING. The bottles cold brew is also great.(Though not made in house). The food isn’t on par with the muffins but still really good.

We came here initially because we wanted to make a stop in Michigan, but it turns out, the food here would have been worth the drive anyway. We stopped in for breakfast, and got a loaded breakfast sandwich, and a lemon rosemary muffin and a bacon maple muffin. The sandwich was solid, using a split top roll so it got crispy on the edges. That said, the muffins were amazing. I loved the lemon rosemary muffin. Light, sweet, but not too sweet, with herbal bits of rosemary and a tender crumb. I wish I could have one every week. Oh, did I mention the pine nuts? Epic. The bacon maple was great, with bacon throughout, and the top treated and felt like a doughnut. If I’m near this spot, I’m going back for another muffin. To boot, the carry La Coulombe coffee, which is great as well.

I so wanted to like this place, but it’s nothing more than a greasy spoon in chic clothing. The décor is the best part along with the coffee. My breakfast sandwich was a tasteless mish of greasy eggs served with an even greasier sausage patty. The bread, though thickly sliced with the promise of tasty mouthfuls to come, was soft and also greasy. Uggh, bread with no backbone is the undoing of a sandwich. Maybe the muffins and dogs are better. Who knows, I won’t be back to find out.

Awesome little Gem. Luckily our group stumbled upon this place before leaving Michigan. The owners were nice and the food was delicious. I ordered a «sweet and spicy dog» and enjoyed every bite.

II don’t know what others see or just what we’re missing. The place is very cute, clean and the staff is very friendly, but when the food came to our table, my wife and I looked at each other and said… This is 5 Star? I had the sausage, egg and cheese sandwich and my wife had the bacon egg and cheese sandwich. One slice of bacon over the top and I had 2 sausage patty’s cut in half both were on what looked to be a Texas toast. The eggs tastes awfully light, I wander if they were powdered from a box. We also purchased a couple of muffins to take home for our son and he thought it was pretty good. 3 stars on the sandwiches because they were just OK. We’ll have to stop again to try some of the other menu items next time in town.

Love this place! I have been twice and both times was really impressed with their amazing dogs, fresh unique muffin and cute vibe. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, and especially with any of the dogs. They have some delicious root beer here. It is a counter service place, so nothing fancy, but worth a visit!

I had the veggie sandwich and rootbeer. The sandwich was good but for 7 $ I think it should come w/chips. We paid extra for them. Since we’re here for vacation we may go back for one of their muffins!

I thought this would be a good stop on our way to St. Joseph/Benton Harbor. The food was simply okay but expensive. I ordered the Mexican(tasted like a regular hot dog with guacamole) and small caprese salad(minimal amounts of balsamic vinegar, huge tomato slices) and he got the shrimp po’ boy(shrimp was cold, which might have been intentional. Aside from the lemon squeeze, it was bland). Overall, if you’re in the area, I guess it’s okay. But if not, I would keep driving.

Been driving past this place since it opened and just never had a chance to drop in. Kids and I finally stopped in and very glad we did! Started with the bacon maple muffin which was very tasty. My son is not adventurous so he just had a plain hot dog. My daughter tried the BLT dog and I tried the Chicago style hot dog — some of the best hot dogs I’ve ever eaten simply Fantastic!!! Great casual country décor. we’ll be coming back here often now that we know how good it is!

Casual rustic atmosphere with delicious gourmet dogs, fresh ingredients quick and friendly service. We had the BLT dog, Italian sausage with peppers and a tomato, basil and mozzarella salad. Simply delightful lunch. Eat in or picnic on the beach.

Four of us tried four different selections. I tried the shrimp roll, but tasted the sausage and pepper, the egg roll dog, and BLT dog. My biggest regret is that we didn’t try the Chicago dog. Overall, the dogs were incredible. I wouldn’t waste room with the sausage although it was good. The ahrimp roll was good– the shrimp were huge. But it is cold and once I tasted the hot hot dogs, I wanted one of those! The place is simple. Definitely worth the stop.

This is EXACTLY the kind of place you want to discover on a casual beachy vacation. I found it on Unilocal and my friend who recently bought a property near here had never even heard of. Who doesn’t love a hot dog?(with the exception of one of my sisters who was once in a hot dog eating contest and volunteered to only eat the buns). O love a hot dog, I have a life regret that I did not wait in line to go to Hot Dougs before it closed(Sigh!). The menu is small but covers the basics(a Chicago Dog and a sausage and pepper sandwich) but it also goes for the unique. I had the egg roll dog — whoo-wee, I voted it best at the table — it had slaw and ground pork on top of a nice snappy dog on the perfect butter-grilled artisan east, top –split roll, I am going to think about that dog for a long time. Also ordered by my crew was: –The shrimp sandwich(well really we are going to a hot dog place and you are gonna order shrimp — it was good she said, but she also said she wished she had gotten a dog) –The sausage and pepper sandwich(TWO sausages on a harder roll than the dogs, we wished it had been on the softer roll), –The BLT dog. We had wanted to order the breakfast dog but it was after 11am(their cut off) but they said they would have made it for us if they had not run out of eggs. Get the root beer — served in a frosty glass. About $ 8 a dog, not bad.

Really great café. Stayed in Union Pier for vacation and came here for breakfast. Very friendly service(even recommended a local meat company to buy steaks for the grill), delicious muffins(we had maple bacon, blueberry, and strawberry), yummy sandwiches(bacon and egg), and good drip coffee. If you are in the area, I would definitely recommend you stop in here… you won’t be disappointed you did. Was told it can be busy on weekends and in holidays — Tuesday am was just right.

Let me start by saying that I almost gave his place a 4 but the food was just too good to not give a 5. I ordered a breakfast dog which came with bacon, eggs, cheese and of course, a beef hotdog on a New England roll. Well, my hot dog did not come with the bacon on it. It was a mistake but the lady did go get it and bring it to me on the side. I just didn’t like that I had to add it myself. That kind of messed up my introduction to be hot dog. HOWEVER, once I added it and took the first bite, I was in heaven! It’s pure deliciousness. The eggs were scrambled just right and the bacon was perfectly crisp but not over crisp. It is a pretty huge dog so after a while, I had to pull some of the roll off just to finish it! My husband had the BLT dog and he ate every single bite. He said it was just perfect. Not one complaint. The bathrooms were out of order which is a bummer but if you are near NB or in NB, you must try this place! In fact, go now!

Best muffins ever!!! And in competition with the best hotdog ever which says a lot because I know my dogs. We had the pumpkin with toasted pecans, lemon rosemary with pine nuts, and bacon and maple glaze muffins. Out of this world! My fav was the bacon but because it’s bacon how can anyone argue with that? In terms of the dogs, the bun made it. It is a New England style roll which is essentially like a piece of texas toast. It practically melts in your mouth. The dogs come with a variety of toppings that you would never expect and not a single pick will be a wrong pick. They are amazing.

I came here a few times during my vacation. I love the famous maple glazed bacon muffin that is so popular here. They apparently bake about 3 – 400 muffins a day and they do run out the closer it gets to closing time. Nani’s has some great root beer on tap as well as bottled iced coffee. The hot dogs are really good as well and they come on super fresh and delicious buns. Union Piers has a tiny downtown and Nani’s was my favorite option there.

Without the Unilocal app, I neve would have found Nani’s. In fact, if I were not looking for Nani’s, I would have driven right by. It is an unassuming little place. I had the first thing that jumped off the menu at me, the Mexican. The Mexican is a hot dog with guac, pico and queso. Good stuff. All the hot dogs are Hebrew National, so yea for that. The toppings are all made onsite. The iced tea is brewed not fountain. While the menu is not extensive, it covers most basesl. There are vegetarian options like pepper and egg. Muffins are fab. Breakfast sandwiches or dogs. Sprechers root beer on tap. The patio is accessible from the outside. It is more of a backyard, but it was pretty charming. Dogs are allowed.

Oh summer, I long for you… and another shrimp roll from Nani’s. This place is cute and boasts some great fresh and creative menu items. If you are in the area, I would definitely recommend checking it out. I think the only other choice might be a greasy spoon up the road. I had the shrimp roll and the caprese salad. Both were fresh and delicious. Just right for a meal before spending the day at the beach along lake MI. The prices are reasonable. I feel like it was definitely under $ 10PP. Very laid back dining area.
