Stopped here with a friend who stocks her B and B’s happy hours with local Michigan wine from this place. Friendly staff, generous pours and some really good wine(liked the fruit wines very much.) The only thing which stopped me from buying was the price — many of the wines were well over 15 a bottle. I can get better wine at lower prcies at Oliver winery in Bloomington, IN. The beer room in the back had a few good beers– the Belgium was very tasty and some of the dark beers quite tasty. I would stop back if I wanted to sample when I was in the area again.

Belly up to the bar that’s in the middle of the room and pay $ 5 for 5 tokens. The wine menu ranges from sweet sweet fruit wines, to fuller bodied Cabs or Syrah, to sparkling whites. Be prepared to feel like you stepped into the Golden Girls with the occasional bachelorette party, here. But the atmosphere is welcoming. I liked checking out the wine bottles along the wall, for a fuller description of what’s offered. But the bar maiden was very helpful, too. Most wines are just 1 token. They don’t do a hard sell on buying bottles, but I ended up taking home a bottle of the Balaton Cherry wine– which featured a cherry grown in the Balaton region of Hungary. It’s a nice spicy cherry wine that will be perfect for fall. I’d definitely return to Round Barn.

This winery came highly recommended by the locals. We made sure we made time to visit Round Barn. The wine was par for the area. The service was simply horrible. We had to keep asking for assistance and then watch as the staff tried to figure out who’s turn it was to work while the others checked facebook and hid in the corner. We came for wine but only bought one case as this winery instead of six like we did at the others in the area.

Excellent selection of wines and they were all delicious!!! Who would have thought that Michigan wines would taste so good?!! Beautiful place and delicious wines. Ended up buying 3 bottles. I am picky when it comes to wine… I love pinto noir and Syrah and the round barn does it right!!! Well done!!!

LOVED visiting here! The staff was really friendly and took the time to explain the tasting process. I loved how they shared the little bit of knowledge about each wine/spirit that we tried. We also went over to the other building and tried a few craft beers. Mark, the employee over there was really personable and laid back. We couldn’t resist picking up 2 bottles of wine and a 6 pack of their stout. My favorite beer was«vacation». The stout was surprisingly smooth and and subtle but sweet hints of coffee and cocoa. As far as wines, the Apple and cheery wines were my favorite. Not as sweet as I expected which was definitely a good thing.

Located right off the highway with plenty of parking. As soon as you walk in there is a vast area of bar space and a happy employee awaiting your order. The wine is always a treat and worth the stop. The only difficult part is knowing where to check out.

This place is great for a relaxing day enjoying the nice weather, good beer and wine, and often times great music. It is one of the more popular locations in the area so there are often lots of people taking tours. But if you have already done a tasting and just want to chill sit out in the outdoor seating and just hang out. They allow pups here too so there are often adorable dogs hanging out enjoying themselves as well. I usually drink the beer here rather than the wine but that is just a personal preference. Their«newer» distillery is a great addition and actually produces some great tasting spirits. The only negative of this place is the crowds that tend to be here. But they have the space to spread out and make it feel less crazy so take advantage of it.

Hands down the best wine in Michigan! This isn’t the main location. It’s still quite large though. This is the tasting room in Union Pier(about a mile from beach). Tastings are reasonably priced and so is the wine if you decide to purchase. The service was very friendly. I can’t recommend Round Barn enough. It’s even worth the drive from Illinois just for a tasting!

We tried some wines and a couple beers. Also did a tasting at st Julian. Round Barn appears to be a more polished place — it’s only looks. We tried 4 wines our server was not very helpful or informative. He came asked our selections, poured them and walked away. I would have loved to hear a bit about what I’d chosen. We did love the Black Walnut wine and will be returning to buy more.

This was one of our stops on our winery tour last weekend and we loved it here. It was a Saturday afternoon, beautiful weather and crazy packed! We headed upstairs to look for more room and did our tasting there. The employees working with us were awesome and super funny. I liked that here, they had hard liquor as part of their tasting. I tried their wine, rum, Irish crème, etc. I wanted the tequila but they don’t have it yet. I ended up buying 2 bottles of the Irish crème as well. They have a lot of «stuff» you can buy as well. We then headed outside, got a table in the sun and listened to the live music. Outside they had food for purchase as well as sangria! We wish we could have stayed here longer, it was awesome and such a beautiful day to be outside. They even allow dogs and had a play area for kids so it was a place where the whole family could have a good time.

Our group had a really wonderful time at Round Barn. For $ 10, you get six sample tokens and a souvenir pint glass or wine glass. The samples were generous and as someone who hasn’t done a tasting before, the menu and staff guided me through it well. We started with wine, moved to spirits, and then headed outside to a little red building next door where the beer tasting occurred. Their walnut crème liquor is a must-try and we bought 2 bottles. My only complaint was that the woman giving us our samples was a little cold and unfriendly, which was strange for a place that aeemed so welcoming and fun. Overall, if I’m ever back in Union Pier or New Buffalo, I’ll definitely stop by!

George is the reason I have come back over and over, he makes wine tasting a fun and enjoyable experience. Most of the wineries in the area are trying to just get you in and our and hope you buy a bottle or two.

My wife and I chose this place for a tasting and wound up buying 5 or 6 bottles of wine(some for us, some for family) as well as a 6-pack of their beer. The tasting was lead by a nice older man that knew his wines and was able to answer all of our questions about the process and the differences in the wine’s we were inquiring about. That’s what you’d hope for at a winery, anyway. I’m withholding 1 star because, at one point, the man leading our tasting(it was just the 2 of us) wound up going on a bit of a rant about the president. I suppose I’d feel differently if I agreed with him, but I thought that it was in poor taste to bring politics into the experience. We were really enjoying ourselves up until that point and still managed to look past it for the rest of the time we were there, but it still left a poor taste in our mouths and created an uncomfortable moment. Still, their product is good stuff. I wouldn’t mind going back if I’m ever in the area again.

We stopped in and enjoyed samples of both the winery and the brewery(we had to be selective with the few tokens we got). The wines were good(especially the cream one-that was different) and the beer was amazing. We took home a case of beer and plenty of wine to enjoy later as well.

What an AWESOME spot. We always, always, visit the actual Round Barn(original) tasting room/brewery, but were crunched for time. Rather than rushing out to the brewery, we stopped here instead. What a great choice! Our bartender was incredible. She gave us great tips on what to try and what to buy, and was very healthy on her pours, which we appreciated! Bonus: they had $ 5 «Drinking Coach» shirts that we stocked up on. We can’t leave here without a bill of over $ 50 worth of alcohol and this was no different. The only problem we’ll have next time, is determining which location to stop at!

Firstly, you cannot beat $ 10 for 8 tastings. Wahhh! And by the end they stopped taking our tokens. This explains why we had to wait so long for a spot… people are enjoying themselves and won’t want to leave. We had several different pourers serve our party(maybe they rotate?). This was nice. I wish they had seats… They have a really great variety– red, white, semi-dry red/white, spirits(incl an Irish Crème), mulled wine even. A cool part was that we sent«the men» down to the annex on the other side of the parking lot so they could do beer tastings. We all bought 2 bottles for less than $ 40. Plus the $ 10 tasting(incl tax). Very worth it. Just bring comfy standing shoes, and don’t expect a cheese plate(oyster crackers only)

Went to three wineries in the area over the memorial day weekend. The was our last stop and the best. Tastings were being served in the round barn.(No beer tasting that weekend.) We tasted both the wine and the liquor. As my husband is somewhat a oenophile, we preferred the liquor.(Michigan not the wine making capitol of the world) In particular we like the vodka. They had a tasting of a nice fruity martini. Yum! As is common you pay for the tasting and it comes with the glass. I really like the stemless wine glasses they use. When we first went into the round barn we walked around the first floor and the circular tasting bar that was there. We found a place and did our tasting on the first floor. Our server was very friendly and what questions she couldn’t answer she asked others more knowledgeable for the right ones. Really appreciate not getting misinformation! On the way out we noticed stairs on either side of the exit. We took a walk up the stairs and whoa, huge vaulted ceiling and large tasting room! So cool up there. Don’t miss it!
