Ok the food is always interesting and amazing. Creative fare for sure! Neat décor definitely! BUT super super loud and if you have a wait, you’re likely crammed in the tiny space by the front door or waiting outside. But… more often than not, worth it!

A must go to when you are in this area. Can be very busy at times and wait for almost an hour to get a table but well worth it. Great food and great atmosphere!!!

Holy macaroni, the baked rib Mac is incredible!!! The hot wings as a main dish is nothing like the normal, it’s awesome. Sweet spicy kinda like an orange kind of taste in the heat. Very flavorful menu. Key lime pie Is killer, killer!!! Get in here and try this place. You will not be disappointed.

We have eaten here many times over the years and have never been disappointed in the service or food. It’s a great old tavern right on the highway(hence the name roadhouse). Also a nice sized outdoor space for enjoying in the warmer weather. We have tried everything from salads to soups to sandwiches and have never had anything that wasn’t a good solid meal. It’s not white linens and silverware — this is a roadhouse — not an upscale steakhouse. The wood-lined bar serves a small but solid selection of tap beers so it’s a great place for a lunch or dinner when in the area.

Great food and excellent service. I had the Roadhouse Baked Rib Mac and it was excellent. My wife had the Mediterranean Salad Pizza and loved it. Great road house environment.

I got more than I bargained for at this little gem on the side of the highway. Very clean and nice service. Food was good. Rib Mac was better than expected and the fried fish was not as good as it should have been. Definitely using frozen fish possibly battering it right there but fish just isn’t shaped like that!

The rib mac and cheese is wonderful. The cod was not good though. I liked their poppy seed dressing and the onion rings were good. Is come here just for the mac and cheese is worth it. We sat on the patio. It’s clean and nice. The waitress kept us well taken care of.

The guy who wrote«Happy Birthday» still gets a royalty every time it’s played, but the guy who invented the burger gets bubkiss; no matter how many times it’s been re-done, no matter how delicious the arrangement is. He shoulda gotten something for this one. Nothing too fancy here, just a fresh handful of burgery goodness in a classic roadhouse environment. An annual tradition.

It’s just basic good food? Although they had a good Malbec. If you’re not expecting too much it’s great. Wow!, I’m such a dick about food.

Came here based on the Unilocal reviews. So glad we did!!! I had the broasted chicken dinner and my boyfriend had the BBQ rib mac and cheese. Both dishes were outstanding. The fried chicken wasn’t overly greasy or dried out. The BBQ rib Mac and cheese was hands down one of my most favorite dishes I’ve eaten. The cheese sauce was nice and light so the dish was no where near as over powering as I’d imagine it to be. I wish there was a place like this closer to home.

Two words: RIBMAC! Seriously badass Mac n cheese with rib bites on top! Mac n cheese for grown ups! Comes with a salad. Love it and always end up taking some home for lunch the next day because the portion is huge!

When I hear«roadhouse» I think about a dusty, gritty bar filled with bikers and other real people, not golfers in pink Miami of Ohio polos, $ 8 grilled cheese sandwiches, and children at every table. This place has a full bar, but evidently a man like me is not allowed to drink anything other than beer, because when I ordered a shot of whisky, the 21 year old douche behind the bar said, «we don’t do shots here.» I said, «and you call yourself a roadhouse?» To which he replied, «we try and go for more of like a restaurant, a family place here.» So there you have it. If you want some decent tasting, monstrously overpriced food and a glass of Chardonnay to enjoy with your fat, privileged children and your bitchy wife, after an exhausting half round of golf, you’ve found your spot. Personally, I’d rather eat a ham sandwich on the side of the highway and enjoy the company of mosquitoes than spend a New York second in this snotty«roadhouse».

I am actually considering driving an hour right now to eat here again! That’s how good it was. I didn’t have high expectations. I was actually expecting a decent diner. I was blown away by this place though. The décor is cute and service is friendly and fast. I heard from locals that they are known for having good hours and being open when they say they will(not sure what that means though). I ordered the ribs and literally devoured them! I’m actually a little embarrassed I ate like that in public. They were so good. My friend had a burger and she said it hit the spot. My BF had a salad. To be honest, I didn’t even ask him how it was. I wasn’t interested in salad when I had ribs in front of me. He seemed happy though. I also ordered a strawberry rhubarb crisp for dessert that was to die for! It may have been a special. I can’t remember. The beer and wine list was pretty good too. Wine was a nice pour for the price. I’ll be back here for sure!

Great food and service, year round. While many local places close off season, this one remains open and provides a terrific environment to meet up with friends and enjoy a casual evening out. Food is very consistent, burgers and ribs a real standout. Good selection of crafted beers.

Stopped here for a couple beers and an appetizer and wasn’t blown away by the experience but it was good overall. Fair prices as I had the slider appetizer for $ 9 and a Bell’s Two Hearted on tap and Breckenridge Vanilla… decent options for craft beer fans. The burgers were below average, over cooked a bit and nothing to really be remembered for. I’ve heard the white fish is great along with the ribs but really won’t go out of my way to go back. Lots of options in the area.

I went here for lunch while weekending in the area. It’s a decent place with an extensive menu, a nice rustic décor, and it was fairly crowded when we went for lunch. I ordered the quesadillas, which got the job done, but it was nothing memorable. Overall this is a place to fuel up when you’re hungry and in the area.

Great local spot to grab a brew and some bar food. The burger overdelivered vs. what I expected — above average. The special that day was a seafood chowder — creamy, not Manhattan-style — and it was actually amazing. I was pleasantly surprised by the food overall, and they have some nice craft beers(Dogfish Head, Bell’s, etc.). The service was friendly but she forgot a few things — bacon on the cheeseburger, and brought the soup out late. She made up for it by not charging us for them. Overall, good experience especially for the region.

I’ve been here many times. I enjoy the Monday night special for ribs and the specials throughout the week except Friday’s and weekends, where all entrees are $ 10.99. I’ve gone to other places locally but I keep coming back here. Their home style cooking and special attention they give to the customers is outstanding.

Every time here, over and over, fish with bones fish with bones fish with bones, every person too who ordered fish. Any fish, salmon with bones, whitefish with bones, I think they’d serve Pepperidge Farm goldfish with bones. The half roasted chicken was underseasoned. We like the location and friendly, fast wait staff a lot. Fix the food issues and I’ll give this 5 stars. Also, people who try to extort gift cards and not rate the places on their own dime and the restaurant’s merit should be whipped with a garden hose(with the brass fitting on the end of it.) Around or about the head. I’m just sayin’. So I’ll update my review after we go back. Their beer selection is dynamite here, that’s why I care about the place. The people are nice, happy wait staff = happy customers, or at least that’s half of the battle.

We stopped in last night on the way back to Chicagoland. It was very busy as today is Columbus Day, We had a 15 minute wait. We went to the bar and ordered the Leinekugel Octoberfest on draft! Very good. Observed ppl eating at the bar, lots of families and couples. Staff seemed efficient. Our table came up. Unfortunately it was the one flat in the middle of the restaurant at the entrance. I felt like i was in a fish bowl. To top it off our server was a little young and inexperienced and would not share opinion when asked about the menu, So we winged it, Entrees come with a salad and we ordered the onion rings which arrived first. They were hot and delicious. The salads arrived. Mine was doused in too much dressing and kind of inedible. I had observed later that at other tables, salads were served with dressing in a cup to apply at will. I wonder why ours were not? We ordered the open faced sirloin and lake perch entrees. When they arrived, «young and inexperienced» had nowhere to place them bc she had not cleared the previous dishes. I didn’t feel i should help her when i was paying $ 19 for the perch. So overall, I would highly recommend this roadhouse. I hope you do not get«young and inexperienced» as a server.
