For a B&B, this is top notch. I liked the décor… it wasn’t that weird victorian, flowered wallpaper with creepy dolls look. It was«pottery barn» like with soothing colors. My bf and I stayed in one of the less expensive rooms that faced the garden. It was a great room just without the lake view. We did go in April 2010 so it wasn’t quite warm enough to sit outside in the evening but if we go back, it will be in the summer and I will splurge on a room facing the beach. The owners were very welcoming. The breakfast was SO good. Fresh fruit, coffee cakes, muffins, cereal and then they offer you whatever they are making that day… french toast one day, eggs and bacon the next day. Superb! This was my first time at a B&B so I was a lil worried about the privacy. No worries here. It was very romantic and intimate but if you wanted to mingle with others, you could. Each night the owners offer a complimentary hors d’oeurve and wine in the main room. The wine was Charles Shaw but I’m not complaining. This Inn is right on the beach. It’s just lovely. And there are local wineries all over which is a fun activity for daytime. Be aware the restaurants close early in these parts… I believe 11 pm is the latest they are open.

Harbour County B+B We just stayed at the Sandpiper for Labor Day weekend and we had a great stay. It was our second time at the Sandpiper. We’ve stayed on the top floor both times. Those are the best views and the rooms at the end of the hall have huge Jacuzzis. They were fully booked, but we hardly saw any other guests. The Inn is right on the lake, so we were able to open the doors to listen to the waves or sit on the balcony watching the beach. There is a lot of space around the inn and you could just chill in any number of locations reading a book. But, what fun is that? We took the inn’s bikes out for a ride down to the marina and back. That was a fun ride and we saw some amazing homes along the lake. There is plenty of beach space and chairs and towels for you. They always had water, coffee and juices out. Hot breakfast is served every morning and was very good each day. Our room was very cozy and we slept great with the sound of the crashing waves. About the only negative I have are the ever present signs and warnings that we saw around the inn and room. I felt like I was a child getting scolded. I don’t really need a sign to figure out that a tray in the dining room is where you’d like us to leave dirty dishes or not to use the faucet as a crutch to exit the tub. Kind of contrary to the homey inn vibe. Maybe give paying guests the benefit of the doubt and hold those that draw your ire accountable.

Very nice bed and breakfast. Go for the rooms — clean, well decorated and the view of the lake — you will pay for it, very $$$. But do not go if you’ re looking for hospitality — you will not find it. The staff acts as if you are a nuisance to them, they were very unaccommodating.

Very nice rooms, the pictures on their website are good representations(especially the Veranda room, where we were). Awesome off-season rates. Staff helped us pick out a dinner spot on our first night in town. We had a «garden view»(not Lake) but we could see the Lake, a little, out of our side window. Super food, super atmostphere.

We really, really enjoyed our stay here. The staff is very nice and courteous and willing to help you plan your stay. There were other guests there but we really feel like we had the place to ourselves, so that was nice as well. The breakfasts were so delicious and filling, we always looked forward to what we were going to eat the next day. Also — the beach is just a few steps outside so it’s very conveniently located. I cannot wait to go back again when the weather is nicer!
