Good casual dining. The food was good along with good size portions. My only gripe is the fried arepa was too greasy and was falling apart when I ate it. My girlfriend had a grilled arepa and that one held together. I will definitely be trying this place again.

Very nice people serving large portions of good Portuguese/Venezuelan BBQ food in a casual setting at very reasonable prices. BYO. I liked all the BBQ; did not care as much for the yucca and arepas or fruit shake. $ 7.50 lunch special is a good deal; also coupons on

I long wanted to check in and write a review for this business, but it didn’t have a page at the time. Express Latin Grill replaces Union Barbecue Grill, a restaurant that closed down before I ever got the chance to order anything from there. The setup is still the same – the grill pit is in the same area, but there seems to be more space to eat now. Picanha with two sides($ 18): This«grilled meat» plate comes with a top sirloin/rump cover steak and your choice of two sides – rice, fries, green salad, beans, fried yuca, sweet plantains, or steamed vegetables. Flavor wise, the meat was seasoned pretty lightly; it wasn’t bland but it wasn’t flavorful either. The steak I was served was thin but still tender, while the yellow rice was alright. Perhaps if the steak came with a spicy sauce, I would’ve enjoyed it a bit more. I loved the plantains, though – my order came with almost ten fairly large pieces. They were sticky but fried perfectly. By the way, I ordered for take out. My main gripe with my order was the price. For $ 18, I could’ve bought a large $ 14 tray of roasted chicken with fries and rice elsewhere(or here – they sell roasted chicken and grilled ribs as well). I was thinking the two sides I picked for my Picanha would be in addition to, say – a small salad – but that was not the case. I’ll probably try their stuffed Venezuelan Arepas or the Cachapas if I ever stop by again.
