This place is fabulous, now. I love the food. Especially the grilled chicken caesar wrap, the disco fries & waffles. The staff is always so attentive and friendly. I really recommend coming here, now. It was great.

Great. Completely solid, convenient, and reliable. If we’re not sure of what we want, we go here to find everything, at any time. For takeout recently, we had chicken piccata and veal parmesan, as good as any banquet hall. The rice pudding is delightful. I enjoy the fresh the cucumber salad instead of coleslaw. Always satisfied. Also, the entire place is always very clean.

The French fries are unbelievably good for a diner. I had the LA burger which was nothing special and over cooked from the medium I asked for. The fries though… wow!

I would give it 5 stars but there are two waitress there that I’m not satisfied there. One, I don’t know if she’s new or not but she takes people’s food without them being done she’s African American. I don’t know what she is used to but in a restaurant, you do not do that. Then one who isn’t serving us properly a lady. Then she servers white folks only and her being white. I think it’s racist.

I have been coming here for more than ten years now. Food is good but can definitely notice that the food taste has declined over the years. They installed a salad bar which isn’t bad. Food still taste good but not as great as when I first started coming there.

I’m a diner person and this is my go-to when I want to have a quick, low-key bite with my mentee. The ambiance is very chill; most of the customers are families, groups of friends, and occasional couples of all ages(from 20s up to 80s… dare I say 90s). The service is pretty good and staff members are very responsive. I had the Route 66 burger which had fried onions and cheddar cheese. Along side it I had a cucumber salad which was drizzled with a zesty lemon vinaigrette. Burgers are always cooked to your liking and always wonderfully priced. Huck Finn will always be in my diner rolodex.

I come here with my family almost Every Sunday. I enjoy the staff being genuinely nice. It’s a nice diner to bring your family. I don’t feel rushed like most places I feel comfortable. In the morning u would recommend their eggs Benedict. They also have really good vanilla shakes. For lunch I love their wings! I think they deep fry it so it has a really good crunch.

This is my favorite diner. Food — Always good. I’ve had a few different things and I always like it. The pasta salad is the best. Really, if you haven’t had it, get it. Service — It’s always been fine for me. I’ve never had to wait for a table and the food comes out pretty fast Price — Seems to be about average for a diner.

Huck Finn is your typical family diner. Nothing fancy but the food is great! The service is quick and everyone is friendly. My wife and I come here every Saturday for breakfast, the food and the prices keep us coming back. We have tried other diners in our area but they don’t compare. Remember it’s a diner not a formal fancy restaurant.

Full disclosure: I consider Mark Twain to be my go-to diner. However, Mark Twain has been under construction for the past couple of months leaving me to try out Huck Finn as a part of my diner rotation(which also includes Tops and Tropicana). I was heavily disappointed the three times I visited this place. First visit: We are greeted warmly by the staff before being seated quickly in a section of the dining room with several other patrons but wasn’t terribly busy. We perused our menus of typical diner fare while we waited for our waitress. We expected someone to take our drink order but nobody came. Several waiters and waitresses passed by us(we were RIGHT in front of the entrance to the kitchen) for roughly 20 minutes before the hostess noticed us and said«Oh! You’re here! The waitress is just really busy right now she’ll be taking your orders soon. Sorry about that!» Another 10 minutes before a waitress who had passed by us four times came up to us going on about how she wasn’t told we were her table. Food was okay. I ordered an egg white omelet and passed on the toast and home fries asking instead for a cup of oatmeal. However, instead of giving me that the waitress handed me my omelet with a sauce dish filled with about two spoon fulls of oatmeal saying she worked it out with the kitchen where I got my oatmeal without having to pay extra for a cup. I wanted a cup not a tiny replacement and I would have kindly said no thank you to that suggestion if she had asked but she didn’t. Second visit: We are greeted at the door by the staff and told to wait a minute for a table. We waited. We continued to wait. We waited for ten minutes before I finally asked the hostess if we could just sit at the counter. She replied«I have plenty of seats. It’s not about not having seats for you but the kitchen is backed up that’s why we won’t seat you.» That makes no sense. I told her we didn’t mind waiting at our table with our drinks and waiting to order but she ignored me and walked away. We had to wait 25 minutes for a seat in a restaurant that had more than half of its tables open. Third visit(taken today): I asked for an omelet with no toast but a pancake. Waitress writes it down and says no problem. My omelet comes out but no pancake. Waitress walks right past us a total of 11 times while I tried to get her attention to no avail. I finally get her attention and politely ask her about my pancake. She says«You want to order pancakes?» I remind her that I had ordered just one pancake instead of toast. She says«No you didn’t. You can’t order just one pancake because a short stack is two pancakes and the ‘extra pancake’ is if you order a short stack. You didn’t order a pancake because I didn’t write it down. Do you want to order a short stack.» I look to my dining companions who all look baffled before saying no thank you and going back to my omelet. Everyone reaffirmed that, yes, I did order a pancake and yes, the waitress acknowledged it and said«no problem.» Food is okay. Service is terrible. I can’t wait for Mark Twain to reopen but in the meantime I’ll be making the trek to Tops anytime I need my diner fix. I never plan on going back to this establishment again.

I’m starting to love these Jersey diners. The atmosphere alone is comfortable and homey-like. From the outside, Huck Finn Diner seems a bit ordinary, but inside, it’s spacious and pretty modern. Fried Calamari(B+): Crispy and crunchy. It’s served with a marinara sauce that was rich and not overly tangy. The amount of calamari my table received was generous for it’s price. My only complaint is that they were rather small and a bit on the thin side. Monte Cristo(B): It’s a solid Monte Cristo, but it falls short of my expectations. Quantity wise, not for the big eaters. I was hoping for something along the lines of two slices of Texas toast with plenty of meat and cheese in the middle but I guess that was wishful thinking. Without the syrup, it’s nothing special. With the syrup, it’s a sweet nothing special. Speaking of syrup, seeing two small plastic containers of Smucker’s syrup was a turnoff. I was expecting at least a glass syrup container since this was a diner, but I guess I was wrong. But hey, at least the fries were good, right? You get a choice between cole slaw and pasta salad; I picked the cole slaw. My advice: Don’t get the cole slaw. Service(B-/borderline C+): Not the greatest. Actually, it was irritating. I feel compelled to downgrade the service just thinking about it. It took 25 minutes to get a waitress to walk over to my table. Right when I was about to leave, she randomly walks away for another minute. When I was a few bites away to finishing my order, she tells me that the cooks were too busy and forgot my appetizer. She told she could remove it from my check, so I told her that I didn’t want it anymore, but she decides to serve it to me anyway. There were only a handful of people there and they were all already eating. The older gentleman working the cashier didn’t seem too friendly. He rung up my meal without saying a word. No «hello» or «thank you» or «hope to see you again» was mentioned at all; he just took my money. I’m interested in dining here again but service needs work.

Excellent diner overall. The food is always good and the service is always prompt. Prices are average and the premise is always clean. As long as you stick to traditional diner fare you will never have an issue with food. A friend of mine I was with had pasta that was marginal, but he was quickly reminded by me that he was at a diner, not an Italian restaurant. Breakfast is always excellent and served all day(as god intended). This is an excellent neighborhood diner to sit and chat with friends at, grab a cup of coffee, or just have a quick meal on nights we don’t feel like cooking. Also, it has THEBESTPASTASALADEVER.

Well… It’s a diner. It has food. It’s fine. Wasn’t really impressed with the quality of their food but I will say that prices were fair. The chicken wings were crispy and tasty. My grape leaves were bruised(definitely canned) and were missing the yogurt sauce. The Reuben was huge but poorly put together. I’d go back if need be.

This diner is the closest to my house, so it is the one I go to most often. The service is fast, and the prices are good. They do have a liquor license, but I’ve never ordered diner liquor before. I usually get poached eggs if I order breakfast, and the yolk is almost always runny and good. I like the tuna melts, too. The pasta salad is great, so when they ask if you want pasta salad, cucumber salad, or cole slaw — go with the pasta salad.
