Tried last night was not overall impressed. Service was slow for a Thur night. Nacho appetizer and rice and beans that came with meal was cold. Had the fish tacos which was enjoyable but very pricey @ $ 18.00. The other selection of tacos(shrimp, chicken, pork) seemed tasty so maybe they do this well but everything else seemed not to appealing. Overall the menu is pricey $$ and limited. Disappointed in the draft beer selection only Dos Equis XX and it was warmly served. If your into mixed drinks or tequila shots this might be the place for you. Ambiance and décor was cool… red theme gas station based and inviting. Parking is valet? Huh? Its only tip based but this was a turn off for me. Parking is very limited behind the restaurant so maybe this is the reason. The Red Cadillac has been a staple in Union for sometime and sure locals and others find it nice but my first time through was not a good first impression. I will try again since its close to home and see if the 2nd go around is better!!!

$ 16.00 for a margarita!!! That is absolutely ridiculous. This is a small restaurant in Union, NJ. It’s not margarita time, it’s time for an ago check.

I was curious to try them because I saw the dad mom and kids on Good day New York promoting how great the food is … Other than the red Cadillac in front of the restaurant, and the romantic ambience inside the restaurant nothing else was breath taking… Food was just bland , drinks in my opinion a high schooler— could make better drinks ! 2 stars because service was great and hubby got a free t shirt lol

Great food!!! Service is top notch! Joe the owner always makes sure we are taken care of! Also make sure you try their flavored tequila shots. I’m not a tequila guy but they were very good! Will definitely be a continued customer!!!

Red Cadillac is a really fun place to get your margarita on and the vibe is eclectic red party, but the food is just so-so. The staff here is super friendly, from the hosts to the servers. Everyone is always making sure you have everything you need and if you’re waiting, the hosts go out of their way to accommodate you and your party. On weekends, there’s live music which adds to the fun, as well as many group birthdays and celebrations. The margaritas are delicious, albeit a little sweet, and my favorite is just the classic margarita on the rocks with ice, but they have frozen margaritas in many flavors, as well as a full service bar, which tends to get busy during peak hours. The food is just OK in my opinion. The guacamole is good, but it doesn’t have that«made at your table» deliciousness(perhaps because it’s made in the kitchen). I have enjoyed the the chicken fajitas, but the steak ones are tougher and lack flavor. As far as apps, the steak nachos were terrible and tasted like an old sock to me; the shrimp and garlic is alright, though I wish the shrimp were firmer and fresher tasting; but I really like their chicken quesadilla which is full of cheesy chicken goodness. Topping off a pretty decent meal, a must-try are the churros. I didn’t know I was a fan of churros until I came here — absolutely delicious! All in all, Red Cadillac is fun night out with great drinks and pretty good food. Definitely worth a try if you haven’t been and are craving a fun Mexican night out.

Really enjoyed this place! Live music was great, a pleasant surprise. Try the shrimp and garlic appetizer and classic margarita. Both were close to perfect. Cool atmosphere, good service… we’ll be back!

Been here twice. We like the casual atmosphere but if you order the fajitas expecting a sizzling cast iron plate you will be disappointed. We ordered the shrimp fajitas and they arrived on a cold plate that made them look as if they were sauté and not grilled. Tons of very small shrimp and almost no peppers, just weak onions. Waitress was nice but spoke so fast we almost couldn’t keep up. It was as if she didn’t want to stop while she took our order or asked if we were ok.

My husband and I love this place, we were just there on Saturday. They had a 45 minute wait, so we sat at the bar and had some drinks, chips and salsa. They had live music which was great, so it made the time pass quick but we were seated sooner anyway. My favorites are the tow truck margarita, the chicken enchiladas, rice and beans.

I love this place. The live music is refreshing to have in our town. When they first opened the food was inedible, but they stepped it all the way up. The food is delicious and seasoned just right. My only complaint is them not allowing hats, which I understand they want to maintain a certain dignity which has worked. It has a New York vibe that takes you away from the small town pub feel. I meet my good friends here often for margaritas which are also great.

Terrible service, bad food, ridiculous«no hats at table» policy. Will never eat there again

Came by for a late lunch, early dinner and I have to say I really liked the place. First with the drinks, we tried the red sangria, margaritas and their house infused tequilas, all were very good… try the peanut butter and jelly infused tequila… crazy. The food was great, try the clam appetizer and definitely get the tacos.

First opinions last the entire evening. I was met at the door by a pleasant woman who held the door open and told me they have a no hat policy. I was perplexed because I saw people wearing hoodies and a super casual atmosphere. I asked the bartender why the no hat policy? He said they have a no jersey, hat and timberland boots policy. His reason was certain types of people like to wear that stuff. I was even more confused by this comment. Is Red Cadillac a racist place? They definitely don’t enforce this rule because a black woman behind me at a table of 4 was wearing a hat. The food was really good. The service is really good as well. After you’re seated you have a drink server and a food server. This speeds up the service time. I love the flow of the service. I ordered their special of strawberry/jalapeño glazed chicken tacos. I requested corn tortillas and they had no problem with my request. The chicken was fried nuggets that reminded me of general tso’s style chicken. My girlfriend had the cheese and veggie enchiladas which were above average. We ordered guacamole at the bar and it was slightly chilled in a tortilla bowl surrounded by chips. It was above average. Nothing exceptional, but good. They have a decent selection of drinks but a bit pricey. The beer selection is below par… I’m a beer snob. I have been spoiled by the recent micro beer boom of late. I had XX Ambar in a bottle. The décor is great for conversation. This place can get really busy as we were told at 6 p.m. there was a 45 minute wait for our table. They only accept reservations for parties of 5+ on the weekends. We sat at the bar for about 25 minutes before we were seated. I’m only giving this place 3 stars because of why the no hat rule… not because of the rule itself. It really bothered me. Final facts: Overpriced, average food taste, good staff, weird no hat rule and not going back.

I had the beef tacos very good, lots of beef. Rice and beans were very tasty. i love guacamole but my bf doesn’t and ordering it as a app is to much for 1 person so I asked for a small side of guacamole for the complementary chips and they were great about. Most places will give you a hard time. My bf had the pulled pork tacos(special) he said it was very good but taste more like a sandwich.

Really tried to like this place and even contemplated giving it 2 stars instead of 1 but I just couldn’t do it. Let’s start off with the fact that you cannot wear a hat in this place, not even at the bar!!! That is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen especially from a low class restaurant like this, this is not an upscale place but no hats, not even at the bar?! They don’t have bottled water, the food is tasteless, no flavor at all, the menu is limited, you really have to hope they have good specials on the day you go. tried the following: Quesadillas– 1 out of 5 stars. Guacamole– 0 stars no taste whatsoever and they serve them with the most disgusting«chips» ever! $ 10 down the toilet(literally). Garlic Shrimp– 1 out of 5 stars. The half piece of bread this comes with is really good The staff was great though, I have nothing bad to say about that, they were attentive, nice and friendly. The layout of the place looks like they couldn’t decide whether they wanted to be a restaurant, a lounge, or a bar so they just combined everything. Don’t waste your time and money on this wannabe restaurant/bar/lounge. If you do decide to go, don’t wear a hat, you can be thuged out like tu-pac with timberland boots and pants that sag down to your knees but do not wear a hat because that’s just unacceptable. Ridiculous rule for such a low class establishment.

Big kudos to the staff that had to deal with our table. Came by on a Saturday night and surprisingly it wasn’t packed considering it was Halloween. They had live music and must say they were pretty great and entertaining! We ordered a few pitchers of the margarita and they were good. We ordered every shot they had and kept telling the waitress to just surprise us every time we ordered shots. They have great flavors and some were better than others but nonetheless a variety to choose from. I went with the Jerk chicken taco that they had as special and kinda wasn’t impressed. Tacos were dry and didn’t seem to have a lot of flavor. Kinda disappointing. What was outstanding though was the salsa they put on the table with chips. That was delicious and full of flavor. The salsa had a nice kick to it, muy Bueno! Would I come back? Probably more for drinks and if I am in the area. Pretty fun place to hang.
