A lovely little park on Hood Canal. All sites are well shaded. The park is well kept, clean and attractive. There are a few sites with full hook ups & level pads for RVs or Campers. The Hood Canal is directly across the street & has a roped off area for swimmers. There is a boat launch also.

NOT impress! This place is filled with lazy workers and campers loud until 3am! What happen to quiet time 10pm-6am? No band firewood meaning the state workers can light up a cigarette every 5mins while driving the cart around and yelling«get your car off the grass, do you know this is state park? NOw!

Loved camping here. Was afraid there’d be Mosquitos but came away without a single bite. Very clean, nice employees. Peaceful and quiet with respectful neighbors. Recommend! Tip: we liked the sites toward the back of the park. More woodsy and a heck of a lot more privacy. Some of the sites have water and electricity. I think it costs 10 bucks more.

Off of the water, there’s a swimming area that’s early identified there’s plenty of picnic tables to accommodate for days when there’s a large amount of people. There’s a camp site and of course my favorite a trail! The trail is great. There’s 400ft of elevation and plenty of benches to stop and take breaks. My husband and I have been dozens of times coming from olympia. We plan on going next week to enjoy the water and of course go on a quick hike! ;)

My afternoon trip to Twanoh turned out to be a nice surprise! My friend and I were in the mood to go hiking with his dog, and, after searching online, I found this state park that had both waterfront AND forested trails. We drove over from Tacoma, in about 45 min, and easily found the park. The waterfront area is mostly rocky beach and marshy grass areas. Its senic, but probably not the kind of place you would throw down a blanket. There were signs that let visitors know when you could go clamming and crabbing as well, so expect that at certain times of the year. The trails area in on the otherside of the highway, near the camping area. There is a nice 3 mile loop that follows a stream for aways, and then comes back around. It is mostly uphill following the stream but not overly strenuous. I’d reccomend it for anyone looking for a short senice hike. One thing to watch out for, there is a crosswalk across the highway, but don’t expect cars to stop. We saw a near wreck here when one car stopped for us, but then no one behind him was expecting to stop. Overall, this was a very nice find and I’d like to go back soon!

This is a pretty little park tucked along highway 106. It has a beach with a swimming area, a dock and mooring buoys, playground equipment, picnic shelters, kitchen areas, a trail, a big group campsite that is uphill and far away from everything, and plenty of tent and RV campsites. I haven’t camped there, but I have enjoyed the beach area and the trail. The park was built by the Civilian Conservation Corp and has a nice feel to it.
