I was surprised by the elegance of the place. It’s in a sad little mall area, but it is a very pleasant place when you go in. Prices were reasonable, service was very friendly, and it was clean. I gave it 4 star instead of 5 only because the food was too cheesy, like most places in Ohio.

Very nice little Italian restaurant. Loud cozy dining room. I came in with a largish group on a Wednesday night and was seated right away. No beers on tap but a nice selection of bottles. Appetizers were lobster ravioli and spicy Hungarian peppers. Caesar salad was very lightly dressed and left a bit to be desired. Everyone loved their entrees. I had seafood lovers pasta with a fresh marinara. Excellent! Portions were a little on the small side, but prices were vey reasonable. Dessert was also very tasty. I’d definitely go back.

We celebrated a significant anniversary at The Bistro. The entire experience was 5 star; outstanding staff(Richard and Janice), superb meal, great ambiance. They have us as repeat customers.

We found this small restaurant while overnighting on our way to Michigan. What an excellent surprise! Excellent food, superlative service. We had a skinny young waiter who was lightning-fast, very helpful(i.e. suggesting we could order the smaller lunch portions of our selections — perfect portions) and was not that cloying, obsequious type(«Hi! I’m Joe and I’ll be serving you!» Was everything excellent?”). Wish all wait staff could learn here how to serve so effectively. We ordered the chicken piccata and the almond created chicken. Both were excellent. Good wine list with some good NW wines by the glass. All-in-all, an excellent experience.

Went here Friday night prior to the Akron ½ Marathon. Good little place that can be hard to miss. It’s in a strip mall type place. It was suppose to be a bit of a wait, but I got seat right away(though the bar would have been preferred so I could have watched some football on top of it. I got the feta and vegetables. It tasted good, but had a lot of water or broth or something in it. You could also taste some rosemary flavoring in it. I got the seafood pasta(not sure if that’s what it’s really called). It was definitely good, but I was already full from the veggies. Good amount of food for your money. Nice staff, good service, nicer inside then outside

While travelling on business my mom was able to drive an hour and a half to meet me for lunch so I wanted to take her somewhere nice and somewhere close to my hotel. The Bistro of Green sounded perfect on Unilocal. The Bistro is located in a small strip mall, right next to Handel’s Ice Cream. I called to see if I needed reservations and the hostess was so professional and pleasant on the phone. We arrived a little before 2 p.m. and the entrance is a little odd. You walk through the breezeway and immediately face a wall that partitions off the bar area. There is no hostess station so we had to assume what to do and walked left where we saw other patrons. The interior was nice and dimly lit with cloth table cloths(covered with white paper) and nice silverware and glassware. Very classy and very comfortable. We were told we could sit anywhere we want so we chose a booth. No one actually seated us. O.K. The lunch menu is very large with plenty of options. This is a fine dining experience lunch but with a very modest price tag. I chose the Scrod entrée for $ 10.99(Norweigan Cod with choice of soup or salad and one side). I opted for the French Onion soup and the Mac and Cheese(without bacon). My mom selected the special of the day $(10) which was a shrimp linguine in a white wine and cream sauce with the choice of soup or salad(she chose house salad with poppy seed dressing. Both our soup and salad were delicious and of very high quality. You are also given fresh baguette bread and butter. My mother loved her entrée and said it was some of the best pasta she has ever had. Mine was less than perfect but still very good. My cod was overcooked and dry. The mac and cheese had a very smokey taste, even with the bacon omitted. Sadly, we were too full to try dessert. Our waitress was also somewhat distracted. I had to wait a long time for water refills. But she offered freshly ground pepper with all of our courses and she even boxed my leftovers for me. All in all, a wonderful place to have lunch. The ambiance is so soothing. For two entrees, a coffee, and a 20% tip we were around $ 30 which to me is a steal for this type of dining. I would happily go back.

Went here on a recommendation and it was well worth it. The staff was really friendly and attentive. The food was great and reasonably priced. I had the spicy calamari and the ribs. The ribs were fall off the bone delicious. The only complaint is it was a bit noisy but I think that was just because of the number of people in there.

I have mixed emotions about this place. One member of the waitstaff was in a very loud debate about«kids these days» and our wait person had a very high pitched childlike voice. Not relaxing at all. My husbad ordered the Mahi Mahi but was served chicken. He elected to keep the chicken in stead of waiting for a new plate. Both meals were delicious and our bill was credited for his meal. LikedbI said — mixed emotions.

Had a business dinner at this restaurant recently. I ordered the special linguine and shrimp and it was good. My business associate had the pork chops which looked fabulous, and he said they were! I would definitely try this again.

Had a very memorable Mothers Day meal Saturday evening. We come here often for special occasions and have never been disappointed. Tonight I tried their lobster ravioli and it was absolutely one of the best dinners I have had. My mother had the filet and she raved about how tender and flavorful it was. Even if you are full share a dessert or take one home for later. Their dessert menu is to die for and their homemade truffles are the best!!! The Bistro is one of my favorite local restaurants :)

I came in here a couple of months ago while on a business trip. This restaurant gave me the best service I had ever had in a restaurant. They managed to serve great food, be prompt with food drinks and the bill and stay consistently friendly and welcoming. All this happened during lunch rush, the place was packed. I complimented my waitress before I left for such a great experience. When I go back to Ohio, this place is at the top of the list.

Lobster ravioli=food poisoning! About 90 min after eating at The Bistro, I was up the entire night vomiting…8 times over the course of 7 hours. I have never had food poisoning like this. I called the restaurant TWICE to warn them that they may want to throw out that batch of lobster ravioli, never to have my calls returned. Very unprofessional. My family lives in Green and have been eating here almost every weekend for years. After this incident, they said they won’t be back. And to clarify, it’s not because of the food poisoning. It’s because the manager did not have the common courtesy to return any of my phone calls.

I have to say, this was one of the more memorable disappointing meals I’ve had in the last year or so. I was hearing some mixed opinions about the place — certainly different than the more positive ones on Unilocal.I was here with a group of 6 and we like to share our food so I got a good feel of the food for the Bistro. The apps were satisfactory — we tried the calamari and the crab cakes. Nothing wrong with either, but nothing that wow’ed me either. I ordered one of the specials which was the ribs(this is not a typical selection of mine, especially at a place like this but it sounded good at the time) and they were really boring. It felt like quickly baked ribs with jarred bbq sauce. I’ll take partial blame for this because, really, who would order ribs here?! I guess i hit the bottle too early this day. What was truly disappointing was my wife bouillabaisse. This is a dish that she normally LOVES… cioppino, bouillabaisse and all of the similarly made tomato broth seafood dishes. This was just flat out terrible. No flavor at all, all rubbery seafood, and it was so temperature hot it took like 15 minutes just to take a bite out of it without burning yourself. I have never seen her so disappointed by seafood. The service was a bit slow, but to be expected because it was straight up packed in that joint. The pricing is VERY reasonable so you certainly won’t break the bank here. But I just don’t think I’ll make it back here until the food quality improves.

Ordered their Italian sausage with the vegetable noodles and I received the pasta noodles and 4 small pieces of sausage and I couldn’t find any peppers or onions. Server forgot to bring my water and service was slow for a slow lunch day. Won’t be returning.

My wife and I went with friends for New Year’s Eve. The dining area is small but comfortable. If you want well prepared food at a reasonable price, you’ll like this spot. We had a bottle of wine, 14 oz New York strip, Scallops, sides and salads all for less than $ 100. There are many finish options to choose from for the steaks. I had the brandy, bacon, and blue cheese and it was a great combination. Great menu that covers all the basics and then some. We’ll be back.

Everything I ordered on the menu was delish. Go for the crab cakes with tomato buerre blanc — my favorite. Lobster ravioli, and mac N cheese w/tiny bacon shreds were also very, very good! French onion soup didn’t disappoint: Heavily-topped w/cheese! The broth for steamed Mussels was missing a bit of tangy goodness, but was still satisfying. The salad was slightly wilted, but perhaps it was due to the heat from the almond-toasted chicken.

Wow!!! What’s not to like? When we walked in the door out came golfer Ernie Els! Met at door by owner Russ. Handed us a beer and got us a table. Very nice and personable! Nice start. Started out with awesome garlic bread and killer Caesar salad. Wine was awesome and only 10% markup! Had Filet and asparagus and mashed potatoes. Perfectly cooked. Crab cakes were better than Baltimore. Finished with Crème brûlée. Unreal!!! Great wine, food, hospitality, servers, atmosphere! No wonder all of the PGA golf ears make this home for dinner during the Firestone Tournament. Definitely would come back next year. Food was as good as any restaurant in Houston. Russ you have a winner on your hands. See you next year. Best service I have had all year!!!
