Greasy, fatty, salty food. I guess if you’re into this type of food this is great. Restaurant wasn’t very clean. Staff very friendly. Not alot of quality flavor, disappointed. Thanksgiving meals are really worth the money–

Love this Bill Miller! The food is always on point. They give you extra tenders lol and don’t skimp on the meat for the Poor Boys here. Staff always seems upbeat and the place is always clean. Come here once a week for lunch. If there is ever a long line don’t be intimidated, they serve fast and accurate.

I have to say I’m really surprised by how mixed the reviews are of this location. I sure hope my experience wasn’t a fluke because the drive from Houston to Phoenix seems like one I’m going to make many times in future years and this makes a convenient dinner stop before the over-night in Sonora on the first day. Fried chicken was the best I’ve ever had — and I used to cook fried chicken for a living when I was in college. I’m an East coaster, so I almost always prefer pulled pork to brisket, and have had few examples of brisket that weren’t inedibly dry without sauce, but I’ve finally found the exception to that rule. The smoked sausage was also excellent. I don’t drink sweet tea(again, East coaster) but the unsweetened was excellent. The lemon meringue pie was splitting, but the meringue wasn’t weeping — nearly impossible to prevent a split when the pie sits after being sliced. It was delicious. Service was very fast. Décor? There is none. This looks like a re-purposed diner or Pizza Hut space, but who cares when the food is this good?

A stop at Bill Millers may be routine to many, but for out of towners like us its a real treat. You always know what youre getting and what you get is always very good. For the money it cant be beat – real food, real silverware, and the sweet tea is first rate. Its not fancy but its just good food. Cheaper than McDonalds and a whole lot more Texan. For what it is, its four stars.

This is the first stop outside the main gate of Randolph Air Force Base, just past the railroad tracks. Looking for some quick BBQ? Most will give B Miller’s a try at least once. Many will tell you to at least go for the sweet tea, which some order by the bucketful. I go for the beef brisket and the fried chicken is very good. With the brisket you have to be careful you don’t get the fatty cuts. From the Pit you can have(of course the brisket), BBQ chicken, sausage links, pork spareribs, ham, or turkey. For BBQ, the meat plates are very inexpensive. A plate of 2 or 3 meats and 3 sides will run you under 10 bucks. They’ve also got salads, soups and the typical BBQ sides. The French fries are tasty in that familiar unhealthy way. Want dessert? How about meringue, fruit or pecan pie; fudge brownies or peach cobbler. Walk in, order and eat inside or use the drive thru window for grab and go.

Every meat I’ve ever tried here has been dry and sometimes down right gross. The rest of the food is tolerable at best in my opinion. I will never understand why so many people waste their money here. I only gave a second star because the tea can be good sometimes.

Well. The beef brisket was fairly good though a bit dry. But the pork ribs, while well cooked, had little flavor. Some salt in the rub would improve them immensely.

Worst Bill Miller I have ever been to. Salads are always old, food prep is sloppy, place is dirty. Very unlike Bill Miller. Stay away!

It may be a ubiquitous chain in San Antonio, but it’s still a local. And maybe you have to leave SA for some period of time to realize you’ll miss it sometimes. Even though it’s fast food bbq, sometimes I just get a hankerin for a Bill Miller’s sweet tea or those fries that at their best are soggily infused with bbq and fried chicken flavors. I hit this location when I get a lunch hankerin’. If you didn’t know: the fried chicken at Bill Miller’s is quite tasty. The Salad De-light, especially with bbq chicken or turkey, is another good lunch option. If it’s a Poor Boy you want, get a sample of pico to take it to another level. Bill Miller’s pico is surprisingly good. I’m a fan of the turkey po boy with pico, side of fries(hoping I win the lunch lottery with a good soggy, flavorful batch).
