I went in today for to-​go lunch. It is a new spot right off Pat Booker road. Not much décor, but I was there for the food. The young lady taking orders was friendly. The waitress called my «hunny» and «sweety» I HATE THAT… Since I know I am much older than she is. Now that I got over myself, I ordered Bubba’s Big Face plate. It comes with 2 sides, garlic bread (I did not know that) and a Cammie Cake… My two sides were the green/​cabbage mix and hushpuppies. The meal was excellent! The fish was well seasoned and still hot when I got back to my office. The green/​cabbage mix was seasoned just right and not cloyingly sweet like another version I tasted recently. The hushpuppies had kernals of corn in them… again excellent. Now, the Cammie Cake, heck, I will go back just to pick up a few of those buttery goodness cupcakes. I made copies of the menus and passed them out at work, that is how much I enjoyed my lunch!

The food is amazing! As a business traveler, I have no choice but to eat out constantly. Normally I rotate through a variety of chain restaurants; however, I’ve found this gem and have eaten here every day since it opened. The food is so fresh it’s as if you’re eating fresh ingredients you prepared yourself, though it tastes so much better than anything I’ve ever made at home. Some of the classics you’ve come to expect from a restaurant (chicken club, chicken wings, shrimp and fish, etc…) are made with a delicious twist. Plus, there are a variety of dishes that you won’t find everywhere else and they are so worth the trip! The dirty rice is something to write home about… don’t pass this side dish by!

They just opened recently so word of mouth hasn’t made it around town yet. Very basic menu as of now. I ordered a $ 10.99 fish and shrimp dinner. Very good, not too salty or greasy like some other places in town. The sides, green beans and mac and cheese were OK. Green Beans were a tad salty to me. The Cassie Cake was yummy! I will try them again as they add more to the menu. Gumbo Saturday is my next adventure with them.

We had the trash bag on Friday and Joe Crab Shack needs to watch out, we may not go back to Joe. Chicken wing plates was awesome plus had enough for lunch the next day. Sweet potato pie to live for. Wonderful owners, felt like family.
