Good customer service. Decent store, has grill and sushi. Good produce and overall variety. Bakery is great.

The HEB is awesome. We recently moved to Texas and had to figure out where we were going to do our grocery shopping. We tried out the local HEB on Kitty Hawk Rd. and were very happy with our experience so have continued shopping there once a week for groceries. I love that they make the tortillas fresh and you can even watch them make them – fun for the kids. We bough the fresh tortillas once and they were AMAZING. I love all the sample booths and the demonstration booth where they are cooking and handing out samples of it. The prices are good(even less than WalMart) for the most part. They have great coupons and deals every week. My kids love going to the HEB as well – mostly because they love when we check out and they get HEB bucks. They love putting their HEB bucks into the machine and pushing the button to see where it will stop and how many points they will get to put into their special book. Thank you HEB for making shopping a little bit easier for those of us with little kids.

After a hot day working and sweating in the yard I went to my HEB on Kittyhawk Rd. I must have got dehydrated because on the way I began to have severe muscle cramps. Well I hobbled into the store and headed straight to the deli with one thing on mind: pickle juice… It does wonders for muscle cramps. Sylvia in the deli immediately asked me if I needed any help, and I said this will sound weird but I’m dehydrated… «Do you need water?» No, pickle juice… She doesn’t hesitate she goes right out to a display and grabs a small container of mini pickles(with juice) just the perfect size! She peels off the bar code hands them to me and says«it’s on me.». No matter my protests she refused to entertain otherwise. This IS my HEB. And Sylvia is a wonderful attribute to my store!

Great service and lots of employees telling you to have a nice day. Cool multi express lane checkout takes the guess work of which line will be the fastest.

I love this h.e.b. i come here alot never have anything bad to say about this location. I am writing this review for the bakery my son likes to get a donut from the donut case they were all out this time so i wanted to get him a cupcake from the bakery there was a man working there and an older lady in back know one would help me i waited and waited the guy working was flirting with a girl a customer non stop talking that i had to say can i get some help. I shouldn’t have to say that. There was a couple waiting to get service as well. I don’t know the guys name but if your going to flirt look around to see if anyone needs assistance. I was so mad i wanted to ask for manager but if it happens again i will.

This isn’t *quite* an Alon or Central Market quality HEButts, but it’s pretty close — it’s not one-stop-shopping, but I’m glad it’s my neighborhood store. It’s been recently remodeled/expanded — what was pretty great before had become even better with an improved layout and the addition of Flaming Bird grilled chicken and sides. The produce selection is pretty great — love the wide variety of organics, and fruit trays, and the addition of the fresh-squeezed lemonade and juice — but I prefer to stop at Straight From the Crate(for more localish selections) and/or Trader Joe’s(less-expensive offerings) first, then pick up the slack of any holes in my list at HEB. The customer service desk is a pretty good option for concert/event tickets — save a bit on stupid Ticketmaster or other outlet fees. My biggest issue with this store.. The beer. It was a crap selection before the expansion, and it’s hardly improved at all since. We have so many great breweries in San Antonio, yet not a single one of them is represented on this store’s shelves. I did see that Austin’s Twisted X has showed up very recently, which is cool, but where’s the love for the hometown local guys?? The rest of their meager craft brew options are seriously, severely lacking as well. Bummer!

I’m finally going to write a review after the remodel. Great job Heb on a successful remodel. It looks awesome and roomy inside. I enjoy shopping here. Their are more choices. Think their employees need a lesson or 5 in customer service. It like everyone here hates their job. They have like 50 lanes open and about 1000 people at once. Yes this is a very very busy location. It is the only grocery store in a 8 mile radius. I don’t count walmart as a grocery store. Parking can be crazy because of the abundance of people who visit this store daily. I try to shop early morning or late evening. Yes I’m one of those who comes an hour before closing and spend an hour shopping then head to the register. Sorry but it’s the only time i can get groceries done with out having to fight for parking. It is quieter and less people on each aisle. I can’t wait for the road to be done in front of heb. It causes major traffic all day.
