If it wasn’t for the horrible service my husband and I received, I would have given the restaurant 5 stars. After visiting the location about 5 times within the past month(which is a big deal for me because before this place I HATED pizza!) I decided that the vegetarian nightmare would be my LAST meal of meat since I made the decision to become a vegetarian. GOOUTWITH A BANGRIGHT?! WRONG!!! The employee Sean is extremely rude and unprofessional! I could tell from my first visit that he was not a «people person» Before this visit he was never Friendly nor rude just… blah. Anywho he seemed irritated that we even walked through the door as a had to put his phone down and he just stared at us. No «Hello», «Welcome» or «What can I get you» nothing! I asked him if he was ready to take our order and he shook his head yes. As I proceeded to tell him what we wanted he said«TELLITTOYOURPIZZAMAKER!» A young lady came over and she was very nice and began making our pizza. I asked her if he liked his job and if he had that attitude all the time… she gave me a look that screamed YES! I apologized to her for having to put up with his attitude all day at work. I guess he heard us talking and decided that he would make our second pizza. We ordered two of the exact same pizzas and they were very noticeably different. He threw LITERALLY every topping on the pizza. It was the world’s sloppiest pizza! He even grabbed A HANDFULLOFROASTEDGAGLICCLOVESANDTHREWTHEMONTHEPIZZA. My husband’s pizza had 13(yes I counted!) 13 whole garlic cloves on it. Usually the pizza maker would break up 2 – 3 cloves for a whole pizza and this idiot put 13! Threw the pizza in the oven and walking off cursing at us under his breath! At that point I was furious and asked for his name and the owners. The young ladies offered to remake the pizza, I told them thank you but I would just pick the garlic off. They apologized for his behavior and told me to call Michelle in the morning and I just never got around to it so here I am writing this very long and detailed review! We have not been back since which sucks because we loved the product and the whole concept of the business. Attitude effects business and Sean is Not the face you want for yours!

Life. Liberty. and the Pursuit of Pizza. Who can argue that? No one. This place is amazing. I haven’t built my own pie yet, but I have tried about half of the signature ones. Favorites: Sweet Bae-B-Q, Vegetarian Nightmare, and The Smokeshow. Can’t go wrong with the Classic Margherita either. The team is friendly, ingredients are fresh, you get a full meal(plus some leftovers) for $ 10, with tax. That is… unless you order their Nutella Bomb which is to die for, but is super rich and enough to feed 3 people. I’m not a huge craft beer drinker, but my main squeeze is, so he was happy. Check them out!

Positively delicious! Definitely deserving of many more than 3.5 stars. It’s cheap, fast, casual. Easy Peasy!

I’ve had two wonderful experiences here. Doughocracy offers every pizza you order at the same affordable price. It’s set up similar to Chipotle, where you can point through glass what you want on your pizza, from different sauces to an array of meats/sausages, even meatloaf. They have an assortment of fresh greens, herbs and spices; whole garlic cloves to spicy giardiniera. It doesn’t matter if you load your pizza with every topping available, it’s still going to be about $ 8.75. I have only chosen pizzas off the menu, as building my own pizza out the INCREDIBLYLARGE selection of ingredients would lead me to a small anxiety attack. The pizza is always ready within a few minutes(they call your name when it’s ready), and the staff is always friendly and knowledgable about what they offer. I think the staff represents the Doughocracy brand/vision quite well. I do believe the craft beer price is too high, especially when aligned with the reasonable price of pizza. I also thoroughly enjoy the crust on the edges of the pizza, but toward the middle I find it to be structurally unfit and sloppy. I enjoy eating here and will continue to be a loyal customer.

I chose the classic margherita pizza as I always do when trying out a new pizza joint. I figure if you can’t do this simple classic well… then I probably won’t be back to try anything else. I am happy to say my pizza was delicious and met expectations. Of coarse it isn’t the perfect straight of of a wood/coal oven while sitting in a vineyard of Tuscany but it more than achieves its goals. Service was relatively quick and they have an awesome new Pepsi machine that allows you to pick flavored for your customized Pepsi product. This machine is much more responsive than its Competitors product. The build out is fresh and clean. My only negatives would be the terribly loud ovens and hood system(although I am not sure there is much hey can do) and the price of the beer(they don’t even use pint glasses for the beer, it comes in a plastic cup). You will find the same Local brews at many other places for a far cheaper price. If you are in the neighborhood and in the mood for a quick bite this is a great stop.

This place fell below my expectations. I went with 3 other friends and we each got our own pizza. Very greasy and underwhelming. And beware the prices of craft beer, $ 7 for a bottle. If you’re looking for a quick bite while you’re in the loop, this is a different option. But wouldn’t recommend for foodies or someone looking for a nice date night place.

The flavor of the dough ranks second only to Katies Pizza but structurally the center isn’t strong enough to even handle my simple margarita pizza. Beer is overpriced. Service very friendly and professional. Their main competitor for the model they are going for is Pie Five which is better — more variety in dough types, stronger crust, and more affordable.

Dough is perfect. The cheese is great. Quick and friendly service. Only complaint is the toppings are very sparse compared to other pizza places. The sauce is good but you barely get any of it either. Despite the lack of toppings and sauce the pizzas really do taste good.

It seems Doughocracy has lost its newly opened luster. While the food is delicious, our most recent visit was disappointing. The place wasn’t clean, the servers were unhygienic and unfriendly, and the wait took forever. Cmon doughocracy!

In our group of six, we ordered four pizzas. One of them came 2 hrs late because it stuck the pan twice and it was given to another person a third time). So two people were eating as the rest of us watched. This unfortunate circumstance aside, for all four pizzas, the center dough was was extremely floppy. I don’t know if the sauce was too watery or the dough was too thin or the glutens not developed enough, but it was extremely hard to eat those first couple of bites. It did not really live up to its hype. The service was nice though.

I’ll preface this by saying that I’m not a big pizza person, but I do like Doughocracy– it feels more healthy than the normal stuff that’s covered in grease and cheese. I was wish there were more options, especially for salads. But alas, the price and the speed make it pretty nice.

Wow. Definitely delicious pizza. We stopped here by accident when our restaurant we were going to was closed. We we pleasantly surprised. The vegetarian hater pizza was so good. Sauce is good, toppings are fresh, and the crust was good. This place is worth stopping in to try. Bonus for a specialty pizza place it is affordable. Much better tasting than Pi.

I don’t think I should be allowed to make my own pizzas. What sounds really good in my head is just too much in real life. I’m always up for good pizza. So when Doughocracy opened and my brother asked if I wanted to go, I was all over it. Steve P. hit the nail on the head. Everything goes at Doughocracy. You can order their pizzas or you can make your own. They are one-size pizzas, probably 9″ in diameter, I’m guessing. There are four sauces to choose from, several cheeses, a bunch of meats, and a variety of other toppings. It goes up to $ 8.75 for a pizza depending on your choices. I made my own with pesto, smoked mozzarella, and sopressata. It was super salty. My brother made a tomato sauce, provolone, and Italian sausage pizza. It was much better, although it was a little bland. The toppings are okay. The Italian sausage comes in brick patties and they break it down. The provolone also comes in slices. I’m not sure if the ingredients are high quality, but they taste decent. Next time, I’m going to order a «created» pizza instead of randomly choosing ingredients that I like. The take-out boxes are excellent, however.

Doughocracy’s stated goal is to be the chipotle of pizza. Much like how the chain revolutionized fast casual mexican into an assembly line of high quality ingredients, Doughocracy’s main gimmick is allowing the customer to watch as peons assemble their customized pizza right before their eyes. The choices are staggering. Although(right now) there is only the option of a gluten packed wheat dough, you get a choice of four distinct pizza sauces(red, pesto, EV olive oil and BBQ sauce), a handful of cheeses, and enough toppings to create an near infinite variety of pizzas. When it comes to choice, Doughocracy is an embarrassment of riches. But is it any good? I think so. Being lactose intolerant, this is a great restaurant that caters to those who can’t stomach(or don’t like) cheese or any other cliché pizza ingredient. I loaded up on EVOO, chicken, bacon, and italian sausage and it was great. All the ingredients seemed fresh and high end. The crust is also thin and crispy. Be aware though that attempting to bottom feed Chipotle style by asking for every topping possible is just going to result a pie where the crust can’t support the load of toppings on top of it. Doughocracy’s emphasis on the western fetish of choice and commitment to high quality make it a pretty good pizza place and a worthwhile addition to the loop.

Pretty good pizza! the dough is good and chewy without being dry. the price range isn’t bad. and the pizza i got was fairly good too! today they had a like them on facebook/follow on twitter and get a free pizza deal. I ended up getting pesto, mozzarella, and some meat. It was very good. A few of my friends got pizzas too. Their roasted garlic topping is really good and their tomato sauce is a very nice contrast to the pesto. I like this place. I like this place enough to drag my bf here. That’s pretty good, right? :)

We went in and ordered 2 pizzas and 2 salads to go. Granted this place had only been only open for a week when I went there but the experience still left many things to be desired. Problems: 1. They were stingy with the toppings on the pizza. 2. They got confused and said our pizza was for someone else so it was just sitting there until we went over and cleared it up. 3. They forgot to make the breadsticks that come with the salad so we had to wait for that too. 4. They only filled the beer up 2⁄3 of the cup — again stingy. And clueless as to how to pour beer. 5. They messed up and put chicken in the salad — and this was for a strict vegetarian! We didnt discover it until we got home. CLUELESS! 6. The salad had way too much dressing on it. The pizza wasnt even that good, kind of tasteless. Won’t be going back here.

Get the Italian stallion salad! I don’t think I’ve ever had a better salad, and better yet, it comes on a pizza crust. Great atmosphere too, loved the option of pairing a brew or wine with my meal. Perfect date night or lunch spot on The Loop. Thanks for the enjoyable time, I’ll definitely be back!

This was a tasty pizza with quality ingredients. Endless options for customizing your pizza. Pictures show a custom pizza and a king green salad. Nothing on the menu indicated that the salad would be served on a pizza crust but it was good. Nice beer selection, etc. This food was $ 17.76. Very reasonably priced and a nice fast casual dining option in the Loop.

For what it is, a fast, high quality, semi-upscale pizza place, this place was really good. Similar to Crushed Red in concept but with larger tastier pizzas. Lots of interesting ingredients to choose from as well as the standards. The kids loved the Sweet-bae-b-q(chicken, bacon, onion, provolone, and bbq sauce). A few great local craft beers, but I’d like to see a few more options. The Nutella Bomb puts this place over the top! Marshmallows and Nutella stuffed into a pizza crust and served hot. Big enough to share and delicious! Prices are reasonable here as well. Definitely going on the list of favorite lunch spots in the Loop.
